Chapter 869: Chapter 327: Lord Pride Walking in the Mortal World_4

During the conflict, Mona felt a deep rejection welling up inside her, but she forcefully suppressed the discomfort and responded with an even more violent confrontation. Soon, the repulsion and disgust were completely gone.

She was okay!

Wayne was okay, too.

After cleaning up the battleground, Mona gathered her wings behind her, and got dressed piece by piece in front of Wayne.

As a secretary, she was getting more and more professional.

"Boss, my body has undergone a lot of changes; I always feel that something is not right..."

Mona put on her glasses, saw the world blur in front of her, and only when she took off the lenses did her vision become clear.

She didn’t take off the glasses; instead, she used her mind to reshape the plain lenses. For one thing, she was used to wearing glasses and felt something missing without them; for another, glasses were her signature look, and she knew how much Wayne liked seeing her in them.

Especially that look from above, tilting her head and pushing up her glasses with one hand, paired with a disdainful expression that seemed to gaze upon the worst student in class—it always worked up Wayne.

She could do without her Crucifix disguise, but never without her glasses.

Mona put on her Crucifix pendant and stored it away. After a moment’s thought, she waved her hand to her side and exclaimed in surprise, "Boss, I can open my Personal Space now."

"Uh-huh, your mind is very powerful now, it gives me the illusion that you’ve ascended to heaven in one step. Don’t go to the Detective Agency for a couple of days; I want to study you properly."

"Okay."

Mona nodded repeatedly, feeling the change within herself. She was perplexed by her aversion and the intimacy with Wayne and wanted to know where the problem lay.

October 15th.

Kel had worked hard all night and eagerly went to the hotel suite to corner Archibald. His romance was on pause for the time being, left to scrape by in Lundan, his mind dwelling on heading to the Papal State in search of poetry and distance.

To such an oddity, Archibald was inwardly resistant. If it weren’t for the fact that there were only seven Reincarnated Angels, one slot for each, he would never have accepted that such a piece of work was his kind.

Archibald didn’t let his disdain show. In order to maintain good relationships with his colleagues, he gladly accepted Kel’s invitation, left Titus in the hotel, and went arm in arm to the Fallen Angel Bar.

"Yue~~~"

That day, Archibald saw a new world and admitted that Kel seemed more like an Angel than a human.

Nonsense, what normal person could handle this.

...

Wayne lost interest in Kel’s situation, delighted that Archibald would take the oddball away from Lundan. Today was Viley’s birthday, and he had been dragged out of bed by her first thing in the morning, to help her dress and pick out clothes.

Chris: (눈‸눈)

Why must Viley’s birthday party be held at her house?

Where was Veronica, the one who vowed to finish Viley off? Why hadn’t she made her move?

Hurry over; this time, Chris promised not to interfere.

While annoyed, Chris still put effort into giving Viley fashion advice and helped her dress up beautifully.

That was what a senior sister was like—she wouldn’t voice her own grievances, only feeling pity for Viley and Veronica.

If she had shown even a hint of assertiveness, Viley would never have been allowed to stay at Wayne Manor, much less be carried into the master bedroom late at night by Wayne.

The Butler Philark, tasked with the job, was responsible for preparing for the birthday party. He was a pro, and the setup made Viley exceptionally satisfied.

"Mr. Cushing, Lady Carter, welcome to both of you."

Philark greeted the Watsons at the door, bowed slightly with a faint smile, "The two of you, Lady Viley is currently upstairs dressing. The weather is lovely today, the Valkyrie Knights are practicing sword in the garden, you might want to taste some sweets there first."

Carter smiled and nodded, thinking to herself that a Noble’s butler was indeed different. Even if he stood silent, he gave off an exceptionally pleasing vibe.

Especially the title ’Lady Viley’, it seemed her daughter had not been put through any troubles since moving in.

Even though this house wasn’t short of ladies.

Carter helplessly thought to herself, she had advised her daughter, but no, her twin ponytails swung like they were on a wave drum—she was determined to stay in this ’pit’.

Thinking this, she shot a blaming glance at her husband.

Forget it, it’s all your fault!

"Cushing, Carter, you’ve finally arrived."

Wayne greeted them with a smile as he descended to the first floor, nodded at Carter, then was blocked from view by a wall of steam before finding himself embraced.

Slap slap slap!

Cushing, beaming, patted Wayne’s back. Strangely enough, maybe because of a pleasant first impression, he found Wayne to his liking, without any of that annoyance of a father-in-law feeling like his precious vegetable had been poached.

If it weren’t for the son-in-law being unfit, he would have liked to buddy up with Wayne.

The screech of tires broke the moment; two black sedans stopped outside the gates of Wayne Manor, both vying to be the first through the gate.

Veronica rolled down the car window, wanting to see who was so rude.

In view came a gorgeous beauty in a flowing white dress with twin sisters stepping out of the car.

The beauty with a black veil covering half of her delicate face radiated stunning allure, even with only half her face revealed.

Veronica: "..."

At that moment, she remembered the Fear that Saina once held over her.

Shivering!

Where were her generals and strategists? Come and rescue me swiftly.
