Chapter 867: Chapter 327: Lord Pride Walking in the Mortal World_2
Mona felt the issue was insignificant; loyalty was either absolute or not at all. She had already dedicated everything to her faith and was indifferent about retaining her sense of self.
There wasn’t much of a difference anyway!
"Don’t worry, you are clergy, a proper angelic evolution suits you best. If you have regrets, I can help you evolve later," Wayne said.
Mona nodded at his words. Seeing Wayne shake the bottle of Heavenly Blood to begin the procedure, she quickly raised her hand to stop him.
"What’s wrong?"
"..."
Mona didn’t speak but stood up and carefully folded the clothes she had taken off. These clothes had been bought when Wayne had taken her shopping, and they held a special meaning for her; she didn’t want to ruin them during her evolution.
Wayne understood Mona’s intentions. He patted her behind and, after she turned around, gave her a kiss. "Let’s begin. If everything goes well, I will take you out for a candlelight dinner tonight."
Mona nodded and sat down cross-legged once more.
Wayne shook the Sealing Bottle, sculpted by thought, to disperse the matter, exposing the Divine Blood to the air.
Streaks of crimson liquid blossomed with the holy sanctity of Heaven, pure and flawless, with a faint glow of burning white translucence.
Wayne’s understanding of evolution followed a simple and brutal principle of corruption, as his own evolution was a contamination of flesh and blood. Therefore, his method for utilizing Divine Blood was also through flesh and blood contact.
He urged The Book of Greed into action. The Great Eyeball on its cover faced the small eyeball from Heaven, transforming its own magic power and radiating a surge of Sacred Power outward.
Stabilize it first!
As Mona tapped into the power of the Stigmata, her eyes turned into a noble gold, and white wings unfurled behind her. As Sacred Power surrounded her, with Wayne’s assistance, the Golden Rule Holy Words materialized into golden bonds.
Three bands encircled her, each of different diameters, revolving around Mona at varying speeds.
Wayne thrust forward the Heavenly Blood, the blood turning into red threads, touching the Golden Stigmata on the back of Mona’s hand. The contact did not result in the expected corruption Wayne had imagined.
Instead, the Golden Rule Holy Words bands circling Mona reacted to the Divine Blood.
The two merged, the golden bands disappeared, and in their place shone a dazzling Holy Light, vast and brimming with infinite energy and vitality, seemingly capable of purifying all dust and filth.
The sudden burst of light forced Wayne to squint, it was so bright he almost thought he added white phosphorus.
He looked at the white fireball in front of him unable to see Mona’s figure, but through telepathy, he confirmed she wasn’t scorched by the Holy Flame.
"Mona, how do you feel?"
"Very warm, like being in the bosom of the master..."
Mona’s body floated up, her hands crossed over her chest, and her wings slowly closed behind her. The warm divinity of the light let her squint her eyes slightly, feeling so lazy she wanted to just sleep.
The evolution from the Heavenly Blood had begun, Wayne was excluded with no room to intervene. He was recording data telepathically while conversing softly with Mona, making sure she didn’t actually fall asleep.
Still, it was better to stay awake at this time.
The evolution from the Heavenly Blood was slower and more complicated than Wayne had expected.
The colors of the Holy Light shifted unpredictably, now blazing gold symbolizing absolute authority and prestige, now pure white like snow, like an angel’s wings, representing purity and sanctity.
Each change in color seemed to carry a progressive order, penetrating the soul, cleansing the spirit, and growing increasingly formidable.
Wayne sensed something in these changes. The progressive order seemed to be a symbol, but he couldn’t quite understand what it exactly symbolized.
Perhaps it was a symbol of angels; angels have different attributes, and the Golden Rule is thus differentiated. According to the Bible, each angel has its own symbol.
Wayne’s thoughts wandered, speculating which angel Mona was now symbolizing, whether she was more influenced by Saint George, or by the unnamed angel of the Golden Rule from the Altar of Pride.
After an unknown amount of time, the progressing grandeur gradually stabilized. Through telepathy with Mona, Wayne saw the majestic Heaven through her eyes.
The holy light danced forth like a Giant Dragon tumbling through the sea of clouds, its terrifying power daunting to the heart.
Around where the dragon’s head should be, the golden pattern of the eyeball became clearer, the Eye of Judgment scrutinizing Mona from above. Sensing Wayne’s thoughts within her, it unleashed boundless authority.
An undefendable and unstoppable repulsion slowly removed Wayne’s thoughts from Mona’s body. Concurrently, the Stigmata on her hand began to lose its luster, opening with several cracks, thereby ceasing to exist.
Mona was taken aback; the Stigmata represented her connection to Wayne. With its erasure, she lost not just the Golden Rule she received from Wayne, but also the contract witnessed by the Golden Rule Holy Words.
This could not be happening; it was too disloyal!
Mona resisted the vanishing of the Stigmata, drawing power from within to maintain its existence, while the Eye of Judgment intensified its efforts to erase the covenant every time Mona reconstructed it.
The stalemate continued.
Wayne frowned at the scene, puzzled by the complexity of an angel’s evolutionary sequence. Suddenly, the possibility of a transmigration occurred to him.
After all, this was Saint George’s blood. If Heaven also had a skewed fad of transmigration, and if the corruption succeeded, his secretary would become an ancestor of the Queen’s family.
Having realized this potential risk, Wayne wasted no further thought; his eyes shone with golden light, he drove his full divine intent, mobilized all of the Angel’s Golden Rule, and with his thoughts, he reshaped into a Holy Spear, crashing it into the white fireball.
