Chapter 856: Chapter 324 How is it Only 70%_3

The Book of Greed, come alive!

Awoo!

Under Archibald’s astonished gaze, Wayne made no defense and let the Oath Sword pierce through his chest.

What is he doing?

Idiot, why didn’t he use White Night Purity Words?

I see, he has figured out who I am!

Unlike the wrathful Dreyne, Archibald felt a colleague’s care and suddenly pressed down with his fingers, pushing the Oath Sword to its hilt, piercing through Wayne’s chest entirely.

This sword is yours!

Although this was originally part of the plan, and Archibald had intended it from the start, he couldn’t help but be moved by his colleague when it came time to act.

He looked deeply at Wayne, not revealing the other’s plan to infiltrate the Life Alliance. The moment the Oath Sword slipped from his grasp, his pure white wings turned pitch black again.

Wings folded, Archibald brought his hands together at his chest, and a black dot of light expanded in the center of his palms.

In the blink of an eye, a three-meter wide black light sphere surrounded Archibald and emitted a massive gravitational pull; the air suddenly grew heavy. As the sphere contracted, nearby objects uncontrollably moved toward it.

A flash of white light before Wayne’s eyes, and he was whisked away by Dreyne. Looking back, the shrunken black light dot collapsed space and exploded silently into a huge expansion.

A hundred-meter wide black sphere hovered midair, devouring the ground upon contact and sparking with black lightning. After a few breaths, the black sphere contracted and vanished.

What exactly is happening, trying to take someone down with him in death?

Seriously, who does that?

Wayne, with a greatsword embedded in his chest, looked toward where the Devil had perished, his forehead filled with question marks.

He had seen all types of devils, but never one so determined to commit suicide, especially one that handed over equipment just before dying, which thoroughly bewildered him.

To the uninformed, it would seem he and the Devil had colluded.

"Idiot, why didn’t you dodge just now? Why didn’t you use White Night Purity Words? Were you frightened stiff by the Devil?" Dreyne looked furiously at his protégé.

"No need to dodge, a severe injury is the worst it could be. Death isn’t that easy..."

Wayne didn’t quite understand the Devil’s maneuvers and pulled the greatsword from his chest to examine it.

Surely the Devil was no saint; every devil has their scheme, thus, the sword must contain the soul of the Devil, intending to trap him as a weapon’s spirit.

Dreyne, surprised, looked at Wayne’s chest, touched it, and the wound healed instantly, not even a drop of blood spilled.

Something’s fishy, check it again.

Brother, you smell so good!

Wayne stepped back, having quickly rounded up his troops with some reluctance before, and refused to get too close to that face. He pondered, "It felt like that devil died under strange circumstances, Dreyne, what do you think?"

Dreyne was still staring at Wayne’s chest and nodded in response, "I think it’s fine, you have a nice figure."

Wayne rolled his eyes, walked away from Dreyne, and cautiously decided to re-examine the area where the Devil fell.

Dreyne followed Wayne, first commending his cautious attitude, then changing the topic abruptly; "Wayne, did you just cheer for the Devil?"

"Impossible, you must have misheard, I was cheering for the knight sister with the long bow."

Wayne casually dismissed it and soon found the Devil’s corpse.

To be precise, its relic.

An unremarkable grey crystalline stone.

Wayne weighed it in his hand and frowned, "An incomplete Philosopher’s Stone, the raw material being a Legendary Mage, particularly one who practiced Hell-beliefs, these things aren’t easy to come by."

On the God-chosen Continent, Legendary Mages aren’t rare. Setting aside the Church, powerful nations can produce them en masse.

But regarding Hell-belief practicing Legendary Mages differently, not generic mages like Planck who believed in everything, these mages dedicate their faith singularly to Hell beliefs.

The incomplete Philosopher’s Stone in Wayne’s hand had a high artistic component, more valuable than the one he got from the Naturalism Church Headquarters. He didn’t immediately have the Book of Greed taste it and instead threw it into his Personal Space along with the Oath Sword.

Better to consume it away from Dreyne’s eyes.

After clearing the battlefield, Wayne’s loot was as follows:

Incomplete Philosopher’s Stone x1, Parchment Scripture x1, Oath Sword x1.

The more he thought about it, the stranger it was; a Devil giving out Gold Coins freely was truly extraordinary.

"I can’t figure it out, there must be something wrong."

Wayne murmured, noticing Dreyne drawing a Magic Array on the ground. From the design, it was an Alchemy Array. Out of curiosity, Wayne leaned in, "Dreyne, what are you doing?"

"Refining Dragon Blood!"

Dreyne pointed towards Dragon Bone Mountain, encompassing the entire space with a wave of his hand, beaming, "This space is forged by the life force of a Giant Dragon, perfectly preserved. It wouldn’t be exaggerated to say the dragon’s corpse is fresh; it’s an adult Giant Dragon, possessing a mighty strength comparable to a deity."

"So, what are you trying to do with my warehouse?" Wayne arched an eyebrow.

"I have a Drake mount; perhaps it can evolve through Dragon Blood," Dreyne replied.

"So, why do you think you can use my dragon’s blood to refine your Drake mount?" Wayne stressed his words, biting each syllable.

"The Devil was my kill!"

"No, he committed suicide."

"I forced his suicide!"

Dreyne raised his hand to interrupt Wayne’s next excuse, simultaneously arguing, "You’re my successor; not only will you inherit the identity of the Moonlight Knight and the White Night Purity Words, but my things are your things, and your things are my things."
