Chapter 842: Chapter 321 All Life Originates from The Void
"What on earth is she after?"
Wayne drove away from the ancient castle, heading straight for Wayne Manor, still pondering the conversation he had with the Dark Goddess, analyzing every word, trying to decipher her true thoughts.
The information provided by the Dark Goddess was sparse. In summary, the other goddesses out there are dangerous, she is different, she would only pity Wayne.
Wayne didn’t believe a word of that nonsense, be it a threat or temptation. He never trusted the Dark Goddess, and he trusted her even less now.
But the Dark Goddess had gotten one thing right: the goddesses out there were dangerous, especially the Nature Goddess. The path chosen by the Divine Nation represented life and perfectly aligned with the Nature Goddess’s grand blueprint. On the path of evolution, he and the Nature Goddess were companions.
Comrades on the same path meant adversaries in Wayne’s eyes. Taking into account the brutal and heartless model of corporate warfare, future scenarios might involve advanced hacking attacks such as cutting internet cables.
Wayne believed the Dark Goddess did not share the secret of the Divine Nation’s joint selection with her plastic sisters. Hoarding for oneself was the only way to be fully satiated; otherwise, there was too much competition for too few resources, leaving the Dark Goddess with mere scraps.
Still the same question: what, exactly, was this bowl of porridge?
Wayne asked himself. The evolutionary path chosen by the Divine Nation pointed directly to life, the universe that embraced everything, the ultimate pursuit of every mage.
But that was not enough to make the Dark Goddess personally intervene, nor to worry about revealing her true intentions so much that she purposely erased Anastasia’s memory.
He raised his hand and felt his beating heart. His greatest value was The Book of Greed, which the Dark Goddess could not possibly know about, followed by his imitation of the Ancient God’s evolutionary path through the Protogenos Bloodline.
That was a misunderstanding. Ordinary mages could not see through to the truth, but the Dark Goddess must be well aware.
Indeed, Wayne had imitated the Ancient Gods, but he was by no means of the Protogenos Bloodline, not the slightest bit related by blood. Strictly speaking, it was The Book of Greed that plundered knowledge from The Void, allowing him to see the true essence of life in the initial stages of his magical pursuit.
All life originated from The Void!
Because the Ancient God was the most formidable life form originating from The Void, he became more and more like an Ancient God. Besides, with The Book of Greed as his cheat, the imitation was incredibly convincing.
"No, that’s just wishful thinking on my part. My vision only reaches so far, so I came up with that idea."
Wayne muttered to himself, doubting his conclusions. The Dark Goddess’s vision undoubtedly far surpassed his. She looked down from above and could see blind spots that he couldn’t.
His evolution might be even more advanced, similar enough to that of the Ancient Gods that the Goddess would regard him as one.
What a coincidence!
Wayne recalled the intelligence revealed by the Dark Goddess; Heavenly Father was at the forefront of evolution, surpassing the five great Goddesses, and the style of the Angels pointed directly to the Ancient God’s Kin.
Heavenly Father’s evolutionary path might be that of an Ancient God, perhaps a successful one, signaling the Life Alliance’s utter evolutionary failure, leading to its internal collapse, and the plastic sisters parting ways to pursue their own agendas.
Now, with the Nature Goddess also at the forefront, the pressure on the other four Goddesses was mounting.
Resulting in this ’Ancient God,’ insignificant as he was, instantly drawing the strong attention of the Dark Goddess...
"That’s not right either. Even if the Life Alliance collapsed, the overall framework was still correct; their pursuit was not mistaken. Life should be just so; the universe should be all-encompassing..."
"Is it because the Nature Goddess blocked the way, so Darkness took a detour, choosing the previously trodden path of Heavenly Father?"
"No, that’s not right. Heavenly Father had already blocked that path as well..."
"Oh, there’s more than one Ancient God. If Heavenly Father blocked one path, there are others available."
Wayne murmured various analyses to himself and roughly confirmed that the Dark Goddess truly coveted his being. All this talk about the Divine Nation’s joint choice was just to lower his guard.
The question had evolved: how was the Dark Goddess planning to obtain his evolution, to risk contamination by him?
"It can’t be said like that, after all, she is a Goddess. She has stood high and lofty for so many years, with unfathomable power. There must be a way to preserve her independence..."
"So when will she descend?"
Wayne couldn’t help but be curious. If his flesh tainted the Goddess’s thinking and body, what would she become? Would she, like Saina and Anastasia, be unable to stop yearning for it?
Considering the topic, excessively irreverent and blasphemous, Wayne was eager to try. The more he thought about it, the more excited he became, almost wishing to chat with the Dark Goddess face to face for a good long while.
Rebelling in the Mortal World, blaspheming in the Divine Nation, Austin described him as a man of rebellion, an assessment that was objective and fair.
"That’s not it either. With such high elevation, the Goddess would not favor a body tainted by me. She would want only the essence of evolution..."
"Which is me."
"She wants to possess me?!"
"That’s still not it. If she wanted to claim me, she would do so now; there’s no need to allow me time to grow. She’s a Goddess, not a Demon King; she wouldn’t be so Prideful as to give herself an unnecessary challenge."
At the end of his analysis, Wayne’s originally clear train of thought had become a tangled mess.
The only certainty was that he didn’t have much time left to grow and needed to strengthen himself as quickly as possible.
The black luxury sedan stopped at Wayne Manor, and by then, it was early morning. Butler Philark had not yet rested and served Wayne the prepared late-night meal upon his arrival.
"Philark, you don’t have to wait up for me. Get some rest; that’s the most important thing."
Wayne ordered and then said, "You might not believe this, but the Lando Family has recently rebelled with some success; Austin can freely enter and exit the Queen’s palace."
Philark smiled slightly, only believing the first part. The Lando Family’s successful rebellion and their becoming the new rulers of the nation in place of the Windsor Family seemed plausible, but the latter half sounded too preposterous; he thought his master was talking nonsense.
