Chapter 747: Chapter 295 Angel Evolution, Declaration of War_4

"How about that, you tried to knock on the Queen’s door, and she knocked you back?" Wayne frowned.

"I’ve been missing for too long to give a plausible explanation, and it’s normal for the Queen to be dissatisfied with me," Austin said, glossing over his recent predicament.

"That’s what I’m saying, you use your old lover’s relationship to approach her, and she’s bound to soften and not..."

"Shut up!"

Austin snapped irritably, continuing, "Prussia has launched a full-scale attack on Polonia. Although Polonia has a huge number of tanks and a highly combat-effective army, but..."

"Wait, wasn’t it cavalry?"

Wayne gestured curiously. On the vast plains, cold weapons against tank units, it was a rout; after struggling for a few days, they surrendered.

"What rumors have you been listening to, do you think Polonians are fools?"

Right!

Damn internet rumors, who’s behind them, spreading gossip like wildfire?

Wayne silently cursed his luck; he hated people who spouted nonsense without evidence.

"Polonia’s defeat is certain, but the Queen’s declaration of war against Prussia is not really about Polonia, but about the previous Czechoslovak issue. Prussia tore up the agreement..."

Seeing Wayne, an intelligence agent, only partially understanding the true state of international affairs, Austin had to be patient and educate him.

Windsor’s foreign policy has always been the same, without permanent enemies or friends, only permanent interests.

The strategy is to watch fires from across the shore, and if there’s no fire, to start one themselves.

The might of Prussia, combined with the comprehensive defense of Frank, had led Windsor to compromise. Windsor couldn’t possibly lead the charge, nor would it.

To satisfy Prussia’s appetite, Windsor and Frank allowed them to expand and reclaim lost territories, guiding them towards the Ross Federation’s domain.

After the agreement was torn up and Czechoslovak had fallen, a slap had landed squarely on the faces of Windsor and Frank, especially the latter. Czechoslovak was an ally as close as kin, lost without the addition of compensation, making Frank seem weak, cowardly, and playful.

Now that the agreement was void and of no use, and since the Ross Federation remained passive, Windsor had no choice but to shift its attitude towards Prussia.

After Austin’s explanation of the intricate changes in diplomacy, the scapegoat was found—the current prime minister.

No matter what he did or didn’t do, someone had to stand up and take the blame.

And their position couldn’t be low, or else they wouldn’t even qualify to take the rap.

"As far as I know, Frank spent all their military budget on a defense line, making it as secure as Jin itself, impenetrable. Prussia couldn’t possibly take down this line, right?" Wayne raised an eyebrow, beginning to look for trouble.

"Hard to say, looking at that line alone, Prussia couldn’t breach it in ten years, and ten years of war is enough to drag a country down," Austin replied evasively, not wanting to be duped.

Not just him; almost everyone thought the same.

Especially Frank themselves. Why fight? Victory would let Windsor reap the benefits, but defeat would bring even worse luck. Better to go into a defensive state across the country, wait for Prussia to chip its teeth, and they’d back off once they felt the pain.

"But no matter what, the war cannot spread to Windsor’s territory. I’m still confident about that," Austin added.

Wayne’s eyes lit up and he pursed his lips, "How about a bet?"

A chill ran through Austin as he clutched the Lucky Ancient Silver Coin. He had never won a bet against Wayne: "You think the war will spread to Windsor’s territory?"

"I wouldn’t rule it out, although the probability is very low."

Wayne raised an eyebrow: "What do you say, you have a good chance of winning, feel like going all in?"

Austin thought for a long time, holding the lucky coin, wondering why he had to keep losing. His turn had to come around sometime, and today was his chance to turn the tables.

Wayne held his breath and said nothing, waiting for Austin to nod in agreement while silently urging not to underestimate Prussia’s strength. The neighboring countries would surrender upon encounter, mere technical adjustments. When big countries like Windsor and Frank stepped in, even a strong Prussia would have to retreat.

That’s only from the perspective of military strength!

Wayne was curious, in this world with Magic, how the direction of the war would unfold?

Frank couldn’t really just surrender, could they?

As he pondered, the Queen’s face appeared on the television screen.

A declaration of war speech!
