Chapter 698: Chapter 282 Your Fiancé is Awesome_3

Wayne took a breath of the warm air and felt the absolute balance achieved between nature, the sun, and the moonlight.

Unexpectedly, there really were shadows of Dark Elves active in The Sealed Land, with their slender elven ears, beautiful countenance, skin glowing with a mysterious luster, and the faith stripes on their cheeks all revealing their identity.

Wayne looked at Saina and said, "What happened to fire and water not mixing? With so many Dark Elves here, can the sun and moon Knights endure it?"

Saina did not answer; she stated the fact of faith that light and darkness have always been opposites, and this will never change.

The situation at hand could also be explained: the descendants of the Ancient Gods were an absolute crisis sweeping across the God-chosen Continent; compared to the lives of countless people, the two Knights were willing to set aside their hatred of darkness.

Moreover, the Dark Church was indeed very disciplined.

Before long, the Dark Mage guarding the entrance confirmed the identities of the group, allowed them to pass and showed them to the cabin where Naturalist Knight Mula resided, even providing them with a simplified map of The Sealed Land.

"Areas marked as forbidden zones are off-limits not because we fear you will break something but as a warning for your lives," warned two Dark Mages.

Saina took the map, glanced at it, and handed it to Wayne. He memorized the map and then shared it with Hefei and Veronica in turn.

The four of them, new to the area, were very curious about their surroundings. Veronica, with a sharp eye, spotted fluttering Little Fairies in the woods.

These fairies were busily shuttling among the trees, tending to every green plant, loosening the soil, and watering the flowers, thoroughly engrossed in their work.

Veronica was so charmed that she became rooted to the spot, with Wayne dragging her along as they went.

"It’s very normal for girls to like cute things. On one hand, it’s simply because they like it, and on the other, cute things can make girls look cute—it’s liking with a touch of slyness. As for you..."

Wayne unmercifully said, "Veronica, you’re not a girl anymore; act more maturely and quit this habit quickly."

Initially, Veronica did not understand, but when she saw her mother eavesdropping, she caught on and punched Wayne in the face to shut him up.

She is a girl, she was in the past, she is now, and she will be in the future.

The cabin of Naturalist Knight Mula was located ahead in the forest, surrounded by greenery and delightful flower fragrances; a few Little Fairies flitted up and down, taking care of the area with extra diligence.

Upon seeing strangers approaching, the Little Fairies quickly fled. Even with Veronica’s fingertips radiating greenery, she couldn’t call them back.

Mula wasn’t at home, and after waiting for about half an hour, Mula, clad in armor, returned in a hurry.

Seeing Wayne, Mula couldn’t help but smile, "Wayne, I’m delighted to meet you here."

Mula was very relieved; the sealing in the Icebound Continent was dangerously abnormal, and his successor promptly heeded the call and came. There was no doubt about his knightly spirit; a young man with a sense of duty and unafraid of sacrifice was someone he could confidently entrust the future to.

After chatting with Wayne for a while and growing increasingly satisfied, Mula turned to look at the three accompanying ladies and paused slightly.

He knew Saina, the Divine Oracle High Priestess from The Church, and also Wayne’s temporary mount, but what about the other two?

"Mr. Mula, this is my teacher Hefei, the High Priestess of the Windsor District, and she is also a student of Saina’s teacher," Wayne introduced them one by one. "And this is Veronica, my teacher’s daughter, and also my fiancée."

Wayne’s introduction delighted Veronica, who cast a glance at Saina unintentionally. Listen up, he has a fiancée now. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll back off.

You little rascal!

Saina responded with a light smile. What did it matter to her that Wayne had a fiancée? She had no intention of marrying Wayne.

Besides, your fiancé is terrific!

Their eyes met and instantly conveyed their thoughts. Saina’s unabashed attitude shocked Veronica into wide-eyed speechlessness. Without her parents by her side, she lacked confidence and worried she couldn’t best the Old Witch.

"Wayne, this is a battlefield, and it’s very dangerous; you shouldn’t have brought your family here," Mula said seriously.

"They are not solely family; they all possess Dragon Blood and are backup mounts."

Wayne, adopting the prepared wording, introduced Hefei and Veronica once more with a stern expression, "I’m not clear on the purpose of Mr. Mula’s summons, but I have made the worst-case preparations. If Saina unfortunately perishes in battle, my teacher Hefei will take her place, followed by Veronica. My family and I are prepared to shed our last drop of blood."

The impassioned speech deeply moved Mula, who assured, "Rest assured, unless absolutely necessary, I won’t let an unripe successor join the battle. I called you here to prepare for my own sacrifice."

Wayne, dumbfounded, said, "Mr. Mula, is the situation so dire that even a mighty knight like yourself is at risk of perishing?"

"Anything related to Ancient Gods is dangerous; we must prepare for the worst," Mula replied with a smile.

He added to himself that the worst of times had already come.

"By the way, come in and sit for a while. I’ve arranged your accommodation, though I didn’t expect you to bring so many people..."

Mula turned to invite the four inside: "I’ll be stationed in the forbidden area, rotating every three days with a rest of five hours. During this time, I will teach you knightly swordsmanship. Be prepared to endure hardship, for I won’t have much time left to give you."

"It should be so."

Wayne nodded, ready to follow Mula inside, when he sensed the dark forces rushing towards the location of the Magic Gate and instinctively turned to look.

Before his eyes, the Black Dragon landed with flapping wings, quaking and thundering the ground.

The Dark Knight stepped down from the dragon’s wings, his face armor’s crimson eyes sweeping over the crowd, his powerful aura spreading open, commanding utmost reverence from the Dark Elves, who kneeled on one knee calling him Knight Lord.

Old Login sure could perform!

Wayne rolled his eyes, watching Austin put on an act, which was even more uncomfortable than his own failed attempts.

Moreover, having left earlier, he actually arrived after them...

Oh, Saina took a shortcut, then that’s fine.

In the scene, Austin raised his arms, accepting the adoration of the Dark Elves, while a few bold Dark Elf women stepped forward slightly to express their admiration and respect for the God-chosen Knight.

There’s nothing to be surprised about, for a God-chosen Knight is exactly that.

A knight’s status is a universal ticket that, within their respective churches, comes with a halo of faith, granting them full base appeal and the ticket to unlock the doors of all female believers’ homes.

To come and go as they please, where even if a human life were stirred, it would still be considered a boon to the female believers.

Of course, one need not be too rigid about gender; male believers are treated the same.

Hearing the sound of teeth grinding by his ear, Wayne instinctively turned and saw Hefei’s murderous eyes. He shrugged slightly without a word.

Yes, teacher, you’re not wrong, Austin is exactly that kind of person!

Mula also noticed Hefei’s murderous intent, frowning slightly in puzzlement, "High Priestess Lady, do you have some grudge with the Dark Knight?"

"Yes!"

Wayne took over the conversation, "The Dark Knight once slaughtered the elite of the Church in the Windsor District. My teacher has since taken over the position of High Priest and detests the Dark Knight to the core, wishing she could kill him with her own hands."

And she had acted on it, with minor skirmishes every three days and major ones every five, only stopping short of death!

A sense of amusement crossed Wayne’s mind; there was a good show to watch.

Mula fell silent, then added, "High Priestess Lady, I know it’s improper to say this, but the Dark Knight has come to The Sealed Land for the sake of everyone. I hope you can momentarily set aside outside conflicts of faith and not display hostility towards him."

Hefei’s eyes twitched slightly. As the Naturalist Knight spoke, she found no reason to refuse, but...

Damn you scoundrel, push those women away, what do you mean by standing still?

I’ll kill you when we get back!
