Chapter 688: Chapter 279: Can’t Be Happy at All_3
Endowed with Dragon Blood, Hefei knew full well, even if she couldn’t transform into a Giant Dragon, that such creatures were not so easily tamed—not just anyone was worthy of sitting on the back of a Giant Dragon.
Take her, for example, even if she had been married to Austin for many years, she would never allow him to ride on her back.
So, what exactly was the relationship between her teacher and her son?
Suddenly, Hefei saw the look in Veronica’s eyes—anger, grievance, and a dismissive scorn as if all the injustices had been uncovered, those disdainful little eyes were clearly mocking her intelligence.
Veronica: "What did I tell you? Your teacher has improper thoughts towards Wayne, but you just wouldn’t believe me."
Hefei: "Impossible, absolutely impossible."
Austin’s eye twitched, as he had confirmed that indeed, Saina bore a resemblance to Wayne. Otherwise, such a proud woman would never accept humiliation so composedly in front of her own student.
Wayne’s mouth also twitched, just as he had anticipated, Saina had indeed conquered him.
Hard to bear!
"Don’t misunderstand, Wayne being able to become my Knight, apart from the crisis on the Icebound Continent and Mr. Mula’s request, there was also my personal wish to leverage Wayne’s identity as the heir to the Naturalist Knight," Saina explained calmly. She was too eager to advance. The Divine Oracle High Priest could not satisfy her ambition; she wanted to become the Pope.
That’s it!
"Even so, you cannot..."
Hefei gritted her teeth, thought for a long time, and really did not know what to say.
Bad news: Her son had become her teacher’s Knight.
Good news: The teacher had become her son’s steed.
Again, taming dragons is no easy feat; the relationship between a Giant Dragon and a Knight is far from simple cooperation. Hefei had reason to suspect that her cold and proud teacher had not disclosed all her reasons.
At the very least, she had kept one hidden.
Hefei was barely holding it together, feeling that her family was becoming more and more chaotic, and she could no longer understand it at all.
Saina threw out an explanation, no matter what everyone else thought, she turned to Wayne and said, "What’s your response then? When will you go to the Icebound Continent?"
"Is it imperative that I go?"
Wayne asked deliberately. He had previously promised Mula that he would not shrink from a crisis and had even specifically practiced the Dragon Knight’s fusion skills for this reason.
But the current situation was different from before, and without paying attention, he inadvertently activated the Sun Knight’s Medal, adding another to his Vest System.
Sun Knight Leo and Naturalist Knight Mula were playing cards on the Icebound Continent, enjoying a great relationship. Was there a possibility that, while boasting about how excellent their heirs were, they would discover their heir was the same person?
Wayne remembered encountering Sun Knight Leo in the Black Mountain Range, although he hadn’t given his name.
While the spatial chaos prevented him from seeing Leo’s face clearly, seeing only a blob of sparkling gold, but with Leo’s terrifying power level, he certainly must have seen his face.
With this visit, the worldviews of the two God-chosen Knights were sure to be shaken.
Wayne imagined the scenario, and the best outcome was him standing on the sidelines, yelling, ’Stop fighting.’

Moreover, Wayne had considered replacing Austin by going to the Icebound Continent as the Dark Knight. Now stretched too thin, Austin would have to fend for himself.
And most critical of all: was the Headless Knight already lying in wait on the Icebound Continent?
Wayne’s scalp tingled, the more he thought about it, the more thrilling it became.
All at once, he received a Telepathic Transmission from Saina inquiring about Austin’s identity as the Dark Knight—did his family know or not.
"Why do you ask that?"
"Master, I have another task on this trip, to find Lundan’s Dark Knight, to relay the oddities of the Icebound Continent, and Mr. Mula, the Naturalist Knight, has extended aninvitation, needing the power of darkness."
"What about the Death Knight... I mean, the Death Knight from Paris, didn’t Mula ask you to invite him as well?"
"Not sure, seems uncontactable, Gavin made it a point when relaying the message, we must gather the power of at least four Knights."
"I understand. I will speak with Austin about this; you don’t need to complicate things."
Wayne could guess even with his toes that once Saina revealed she knew of Austin’s identity as the Dark Knight, teacher Hefei would have a reaction.
Hefei: "In this family, Megan knows, Wayne knows, even the Old Witch we haven’t seen for twenty years knows, only Veronica and I are in the dark. Fine, let’s leave, shall we!"
Veronica: "I’m not going."
Hefei: "Then I will!"
It was too bad, there was no joy to be found in this.
...
After the meeting, Saina went alone to the young master’s villa, looking as if she planned to stay there for the night.
Hefei’s face was a picture of horror. She imagined all sorts of things, her mind full of vivid, spooky material that scared her into stumbling out of the study.
Veronica, anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof, sent Wayne a look, indicating that he had to come to her room tonight and go nowhere else.
Wayne nodded repeatedly, to be fair, he was also panicked. What if Little Wayne rebelled, and he lost control to the bigger head? That would be quite the spectacle.
After the three of them left, only Wayne and Austin remained in the study, Megan gently closed the door and erected a soundproof barrier to keep others from eavesdropping.
"Austin, I can’t go to the Icebound Continent in your stead anymore. Also, Saina communicated via transmission that she’s going to extend an invitation from the Naturalist Knight to the Dark Knight—you’re in deep trouble now," Wayne said with a serious expression.
"Your problem is bigger. Both the Naturalist and Sun Knights are on the Icebound Continent, there’s also a Moonlight Knight there. Anyway, the problem is already big, it can’t get any worse. Might as well take the Moonlight Knight’s weapon too, and complete the heir identities of all five God-chosen Knights," Austin suggested teasingly.
