Chapter 535: Chapter 232 Royal Family Infighting

February.

West District, Garden Road Park.

Wayne sat on a park bench in a black suit, overcoat, and gentleman’s hat, holding a newspaper, with Secretary Mona beside him carrying a briefcase.

The Princess’s Knight had arranged a secret meeting in the park’s garden, designating a particular bench and newspaper as covert signals.

A bit childish.

But because he had received a substantial down payment and due to the client’s status, Wayne had complied with the request.

Before coming, Wayne had called Austin to see if they could meet.

As the heir to the Lando Family, Austin had always insisted that Wayne should be loyal to the Queen, and as for Princes and Princesses, it wasn’t their time yet. Meeting and chatting briefly was fine, but any lengthy discussions should be avoided to prevent any misunderstandings with the Queen.

Avoiding suspicion.

Wayne understood the reason, so he had called Austin; if Austin disagreed, he would have returned the down payment and refused to meet with the Princess’s Knight.

Austin had agreed and asked Wayne to probe the Knight’s intentions to understand why they wanted to meet.

He also warned the little trash can to watch his mouth, not to flirt with the Princess for no reason. It was fine for him to disregard girls like Chris and Will, but absolutely not the Princess.

Understand, Princess Elizabeth is Veronica’s sister!

Wayne extracted the keywords precisely; it was a night of thunder and lightning when Austin received a call and rushed to his ex-girlfriend’s holiday villa. Queen Sophia, wearing only a pair of white gloves, complained to her former boyfriend about her dull marriage and a husband lacking in romance.

Ten months later, Princess Elizabeth was born.

"I told you, those two definitely had an affair. Go back and tell the teacher to keep on flying tonight."

Wayne boasted to Mona, full of envy, about the gossip between Austin and the Queen. When he got to the hateful part, he slapped his thigh hard.

Mona was exasperated, but since it was Wayne, she didn’t argue, instead praising her boss’s vivid imagination and regretting that he didn’t write novels.

"Even if I did write, it couldn’t be published. It involves too many powerful figures and would be banned."

Wayne sighed about the dark society where the truth couldn’t be spoken out loud, while harshly denouncing Austin’s double standards; he could roll in the sheets with the Queen but wouldn’t allow Wayne to do the same with the Princess.

As the saying goes, "don’t let a rich resource fall into outsiders’ hands." Austin had failed by treating his son as an outsider.

Although he said that, Wayne was just venting and took the opportunity to find an excuse to tease Austin. He honestly didn’t expect anything with the Princess, even if there was a good chance she was Veronica’s half-sister by the same father.

The reason was simple. The name Elizabeth Windsor made Wayne involuntarily think of an individual known as the Old Buddha.

Though not the same person, the thought of it felt distasteful, and even little Wayne seemed to sense something odd.

Wayne arrived five minutes early, and after twenty minutes, a woman in a black coat, carrying a briefcase, sat down on the bench.

The woman, with golden short hair styled efficiently, tall in stature, her face exuded an innate and unapproachable authority, her aura cold enough to be indifferent.

Perhaps because of a teacher’s golden short hair, Wayne found her striking poise and energetic spirit appealing, and he signaled with his newspaper, "Wayne, are you my client?"

"No, I’m here to meet you on behalf of the client."

The woman extended her hand, clad in black leather gloves: "Hello, Sir Wayne, Juno Jones, you may call me Knight Jones."

"Alright, Miss Juno."

Wayne politely shook her hand, seeing that she was about his age and guessing she might have come from the military. She was not only the Princess’s Knight but possibly also her secretary or maid.

In his view, someone like her was generally known as a dowry maid.

Tch, she’s quite good-looking, with a nice figure too.

According to Austin, the Princess had a fiancé, lucky for that bastard.

Perhaps Wayne’s stare was too impolite; Juno slightly frowned, displeased: "Sir Wayne, I’ve researched your background before coming. According to reliable information, you’re not Mister Lando’s illegitimate son; you share no blood relation with him."

"And what of it?"

"Please allow me to reserve the right to question that information."

"Permission granted."

Wayne nodded, tired of explaining rumors that were like raging beasts.

It was all Austin’s fault, having to look so much like him; even Veronica was lately jesting that she was adopted.

"Sir Wayne..."

"Just call me Wayne, simpler is better. I’ll call you Juno; let’s hope for a successful collaboration."

Wayne and Juno weren’t familiar, and he didn’t wish to ingratiate himself, so he cut to the chase: "According to you, you’re Princess Elizabeth’s Knight; could you prove it? I don’t mean to mistrust you, but considering the gravity of the issue, a confirmation is necessary."

"As it should be."

Juno opened her briefcase and pulled out a black telescope, pointing it toward the top floor of the luxury hotel on the west side of the park: "The top floor, the central window."

What does that mean, you’ve planted a sniper?

Wayne didn’t take the telescope; instead, his Super Vision zoomed towards the hotel’s top floor, quickly retracting the surrounding scenery, and spotted a blonde woman holding a telescope at the central window.

The woman put down the telescope, smiled slightly, and waved at Wayne.

With her golden hair tied up, dressed in formal attire, and bearing a slight resemblance to Queen Sophia, yet youthful and elegant, she was unmistakably Princess Elizabeth.

The Princess nodded with a smile and then closed the window.

Wayne redirected his gaze, furrowing his brow. The Princess had nodded three times before closing the window. He felt he had seen this quick walkthrough somewhere before.
