Chapter 319: Chapter 160: Solid as a Rock, Looking Very Impressive

Presidential Suite, Bathroom.

The walls were lined with cream-colored tiles, and an oval long mirror hung above the washstand. Its wide and clear surface was framed with beautifully carved patterns glowing softly under the light, radiating elegant romance everywhere.

From the perspective of someone like Wayne, who came from a later time, the bathroom’s design was a failed mixture of modern and classical styles, lacking both the simplicity of modern design and the grandeur of the classical, failing spectacularly.

In his era, any chain hotel you might walk into had a better bathroom decor.

"And they call this a presidential suite? They don’t even provide diapers..."

The best bathroom Wayne had ever seen was at Lando Manor, purely classical and the epitome of luxury. Although his own bathroom wasn’t bad, compared to the Randao Family’s, it lagged behind by a whole five hairpin turns; you couldn’t even see the taillights.

"What’s all this ’their house, my house’ talk? It’s all my house now. I must stop talking like this; it’s too distant. I need to change the way I address it."

Wayne lay in the spacious bathtub, the faucet pouring water at a gentle pace while he closed his eyes to the rhythmic dripping sound.

The bathtub was large enough to fit three people at the same time, accommodating the needs of high-end customers and allowing the upper-class gentlemen to embrace secretaries and lovers in both arms as they bathed.

Secretary on the left, lover on the right, Baby and Beibei lined up in queue.

The wife at home!

After five minutes, Wayne opened his eyes and glanced at the bathroom door, dissatisfied, he shook his head.

He had thought tonight a secretary in a maid outfit or swimsuit would come in carrying a makeup kit, ready to give the boss a scrub in the bath.

Wishful thinking, nothing happened.

Even if such a scene really unfolded, Wayne would have sternly scolded Mona to leave quickly, telling her not to be constantly fixated on the boss’s flourishing beauty. In the end, everyone would wash separately.

But the outcome didn’t matter; it was the process that counted. He might refuse, but if Mona didn’t offer, that would be her fault.

"This bath is really boring..."

Wayne muttered under his breath, put on his bathrobe, and left the bathroom, not forgetting to empty the bathtub before he left.

After all, he was a bit paranoid; someone might sneak in and drink his bathwater!

In the living room, Mona was sitting on the sofa watching television, which Wayne called an antique household appliance. He couldn’t stand it, but others found it fascinating.

"Boss, are you done?"

Mona, holding a change of clothes, was about to hurry into the bathroom.

Wayne reminded her, "No need to rush, I’ve already drained the bathwater."

"???!"

Mona’s forehead was crossed with a string of question marks, but halfway through, the question marks turned into exclamation points as she suddenly understood there was such a tactic at play, which she hadn’t thought of.

Wayne was dead serious in teasing Mona and couldn’t stop laughing inwardly. Seeing her annoyance as she walked into the bathroom, he rubbed his hands and undid his bathrobe.

After the bath, it was time for serious business!

Meditation!

He threw aside the bathrobe and changed into a pair of dress pants and shirt, using his fingers like a comb to tidy his slicked-back hair.

In Lucerne City there was a canyon running east to west, a hundred meters wide, acting as a natural boundary for the city and also a former military stronghold.

Initially relying on the canyon’s natural rock formations, a castle with high walls easy to defend and difficult to assail was built. As gunpowder technology developed, it was transformed into a fort with embrasures.

At first glance, it looked imposing and unbreachable.

The citizens also believed the fortress was impenetrable by a million soldiers, forever safeguarding the capital from falling.

It wasn’t really as strong as it looked, though. When talking about real impregnability, the neighboring defensive line was the true king. The canyon fortress was merely a younger brother.

Possibly anticipating something, a majestic arch bridge was built over the canyon to ensure smooth troop movements. At the same time, it allowed for a top-down view to admire the natural beauty of the gorge.

Imagine the scene where a powerful army crossed the bridge, overlooking the lush forests below and the jubilant streams running at the bottom of the valley, with the cool breeze dispelling the heat—a most glorious feeling.

None of this concerned Wayne, who wasn’t on a military campaign. He just wanted to find a secluded spot to set up a Hades Meditation Array and have some intimate interactions with his compatriots.

The Gold Level Hades Meditation Array was something he had never dared to try in Lundan, and now was the perfect opportunity.

Wayne hadn’t brought any Ancient Silver Coins; Plank had made a condition when returning the coins: they must not be removed from the Windsor Domain.

The exact reason was not disclosed, but it was probably a rule of the Liberty Mage Alliance, or perhaps a restriction was placed on the Ancient Silver Coins ensuring they couldn’t leave Windsor even if stolen.

Without the Ancient Silver Coins and reluctant to part with his four Elemental Rings, Wayne set his sights on the fortifications of Lucerne for his improved practice. The canyon was a fine place to meditate, and even if he failed, it would just be an experiment.

If Wayne didn’t take these elemental compatriots, they’d just be plundered by the illegal Mages of Frank and Prussia. In a couple of years, Lucerne would be annexed, and the Mages of Prussia would misuse the public resources, strip-mining the area after thorough looting. This cavity was bound to go to waste.

Therefore, Wayne reasoned that not plundering it himself meant undercutting the forces of Prussia. Rounding up, it was equivalent to international humanitarian aid.

Convincing himself, Wayne immediately felt less guilty, got dressed, and headed out.

"Boss, where are you going?"

Mona peered out, her wet hair draped over her shoulders and only wrapped in a bath towel, revealing more than a hint of spring, which didn’t seem to bother her one bit.

She wasn’t concerned about this but was curious as to what Wayne was up to late at night. Her gaze suspiciously roved over his dress shirt and pants—the handsome look didn’t seem to fit with fighting devils, discussing business, or more like he was going out on a date.

As far as she knew, it was Wayne’s first time in Lucerne, with no acquaintances...

Calmly analyzing, she had a realization.jpg

Mona thought of the mysterious woman at the restaurant, asking Wayne to wait a moment. She quickly finished her bath, pinned up her dripping hair, and, dressed, stood before Wayne.
