Chapter 299: Chapter 153: How can I, an angel, sleep in a cold bed? Call out the Holy Maiden for a séance_2
"Lord Angel, the Holy See has no such thing as a ’Holy Maiden’."
Seeing Wayne give up and start playing the fool, Gunther almost laughed out loud. Even an angel had been handled obediently by him.
"I, an angel, can’t sleep in a cold bed. Tonight, Mona, you..."
Just as Wayne pointed at Mona, he saw her nod repeatedly. After a brief silence, she pointed at Artley instead: "Mona, your captain, go prepare some food. I’m hungry."
Artley was stunned for a moment, then left the cell to prepare food.
"And you, any food will do, just don’t bring over little boys, I’m not like you guys."
Wayne shouted, and seeing Gunther’s face as dark as the bottom of a pot, he became even more triumphant, leaning against the crucifix with righteous indignation, "It’s all over Heaven that you shameless people are competing with devils for little boys. Don’t be afraid, child. I’ll go in and drive the devil away, pah, you all deserve to go to Hell."
"..." x2
Gunther and Mona fell silent together. Leaving aside whether Heaven had such Hellish jokes, just the crumbling of the angel’s image alone indicated the poor state of his mood.
Don’t push him further; it’s time to stop making him acknowledge his identity.
Gunther had Mona retract her wings and carefully hide the stigmata so as not to further irritate the angel. If the latter got too annoyed and started spreading the Holy See’s Hellish jokes on the street, the joke would be on them.
Angel: "Did you know? Little boys always leave the church crying."
Passerby: "Really?"
Angel: "Why would I lie to you? I’ve seen it all from above."
The thought of such a scenario made Gunther break out in a sweat. He didn’t know if other angels would do such things, but this one in front of him really might.
"Lead the way up front. I need to go to the storeroom to get some things. I left a few treasures on Earth when I descended. I calculated, and they were just picked up by St. Paul Cathedral," Wayne said, clutching the disclaimer in his chest. Although he had been wronged, it hadn’t been without profit.
Gunther dared not disobey, took the lead, with Mona closely following behind Wayne, whispering: "Master, your thinking really is identical to Bruce’s."
There was a hint of pride in her tone!
Wayne glared at her annoyed, knowing Gunther could hear, and then slapped her hard on the butt.
Smack!
Hear that? That slap was for your face!
Gunther turned a deaf ear, as if cursed by a devil to be deaf.
Mona bit her teeth and hummed softly, she had found her master, the master was an angel, she had signed a contract with the angel, her body full of the master’s power, all the joys coming together, today was a lucky day.

No, I rewarded her!
Wayne’s eyelid twitched. This nun had gone bad.
It should have nothing to do with him. He had only disciplined her a few times, and his discipline was for Mona to be a good undercover agent, not to ask what shouldn’t be asked, not to do what shouldn’t be done, to obediently follow orders and fully commit to the master’s tasks—all for Mona’s own good.
So, if Mona turned out this bad, the problem lay with her.
She’s got a physical problem!
Seeing that master and servant were no longer interacting behind him, Gunther found an opportunity to say: "The stigmata on the back of Mona’s hand is centered on a cross, with both ends tilted upwards and then extending, the overall structure similar to a balance scale, and can also be seen individually as a sword and the crossguard, implying that the angel she contracted with has a main job in combat."
"There’s nothing unusual about that. Basically, every descending angel has combat as their main job, but I’ve seen similar symbols in the Golden Rule Bible."
Gunther squinted, his heart pounding with excitement, tremblingly said: "This symbol corresponds to Pride among the seven deadly sins, symbolizing humility and justice. Not many angels hold this emblem, and every one of them is exceedingly powerful. Mona’s master holds a high position in Heaven and is very likely commanding a legion."
"Master is so powerful!" Mona’s eyes sparkled.
"Shut up!"
"Oh."
Seeing Mona bow her head in silence, Wayne felt no sense of accomplishment, as his thoughts were not on Mona at all, deciphering what the Archbishop said, and it suddenly dawned on him.
There was only one truth!
Gunther’s words confirmed his earlier suspicion: Mona receiving the stigmata was the fault of Lord Pride.
Wayne remembered clearly, the Reincarnation Altar needed both Heaven and Hell’s energies; this was crucial. If Lord Pride wanted to reincarnate through the altar, he would have to erase his infernal aura or at least find a way to cover it up, making the Hellish aura less conspicuous.
Following this train of thought, the Golden Rule Holy Words that Lord Pride chose could only be the opposing humility and justice.
He gained humility and justice through The Book of Greed and, due to a series of coincidences, was mistaken for an angel by the Golden Rule Bible, projecting corresponding stigmata on Mona.
It all made sense; a perfect answer!
Wayne had an epiphany. Yes, that was it.
The answer was almost ready-made, just a thought away. If he got this wrong, he would be a fool.
"However..."
Wayne had another puzzle he couldn’t figure out: If Mona got humility and justice from him, why didn’t he have the stigmata himself?
Was it selective, not certifying those without faith in the Heavenly Father?
If so, Wayne was helpless; he would never get the enhancement from stigmata in this lifetime.
He didn’t have any faith to speak of. Take for example the Faith Magic of Death, which was the strongest faith-based magic he had. Every time he imagined the Goddess of Death giving a mini-lecture, the goddess’s black robe would reveal two long legs hidden beneath.
Recently wearing black stockings, not so white anymore.
If Death was like this, not to mention other faith-based magic, the Nature Goddess in the infirmary, the Sun Goddess in the gym, the Moonlight Goddess in the music room, and the head teacher in charge of ideology and morality, the Dark Goddess.
