Chapter 295: 152 Chapter Heaven’s Gate: Whose Alt Account?

Everyone saw it; it was the other party who insisted on treating, I didn’t force them.

Wayne raised his hand to the Golden Rule Bible and said, no way, not untrustworthy, well, would it not suffice for him to eat this meal!

The moment his fingertips touched it, the sacred power of the Holy Light surged into Wayne’s body through his arm, and the luminance of the Golden Rule Bible flared up for an instant, enveloping Wayne completely.

Gunther was blinded by the intense Holy Light, unable to open his eyes, and an invisible force spread out, pushing him far to the side.

On either side, Artley and Mona supported the Archbishop’s arms, all three holding their breath and gazing intently towards the source of the light.

Holy Light descended!

Sacred!

Pure!

And eternal!

Watching the warm light, the three felt the presence of God, as if receiving blessings and guidance, and in the brilliance, their faith and courage were reaffirmed.

Mona’s eyes reflected the Holy Light, her heartbeat quickened uncontrollably, and she involuntarily swallowed, her voice trembling, "Archbishop, it’s him, right?"

"Don’t talk."

Gunther’s voice was very low, for fear that speaking louder would disturb Wayne’s communion with the Golden Rule Bible.

Whether it was or wasn’t could not be determined just yet, since the stigmata had not appeared, but based on the current scene, there was a very good chance it was a sure thing.

The Golden Rule Bible is a conduit between the Holy See and Heaven, written by the Angel that controls the Golden Rule, a sacred relic of the Holy See’s heritage that allows not only communication with Heaven but also the summoning of Angels to the human world.

Due to its significance, it was often coveted by Devils, and the selection of its carrier was not taken lightly; both the Holy See and Heaven had placed a seal on the Golden Rule Bible.

The Holy See’s selection process was stringent, and by and large, each holder of the Golden Rule Bible was the highest responsible person in major dioceses, with a faith tested by time, and strength that was not inferior, at the very least at the Gold Level.

Like Gunther, who had to pass several examinations before he could qualify to make a pact with the Golden Rule Bible.

This paper pact served as a letter of introduction, and with it in hand, Gunther, through his thoughts, could enter Heaven’s Gate and establish a long-term collaborative relationship with an Angel in the human resources department.

If his Holy Light was pure enough and his strength sufficiently formidable, he could set up a small stand and loudly call out, and several passing Angels might agree to collaborate with him.

Now to speak of Heaven’s seal, personally implemented by Angels, it held even stricter standards.

Without absolutely pure Holy Light, and lacking a letter of recommendation from the Holy See, unauthorized use of the Golden Rule Bible would label one as a Devil, triggering the automatic defense system, and a torrent of Holy Light would pour in, directly blasting the person away.

Resist, and still try to force it, the defense system would increase its output, and one would be gone in an instant.

The defense mechanism ensured that no Angel could impersonate another and freely enter and exit Heaven’s Gate, making the search for Reincarnated Angels exceedingly difficult.

Reincarnated Angels, without the memory of Heaven, did not reveal themselves voluntarily, and the Holy See had to search for them one by one.

The vast sea of people was one problem, and the defense mechanism dealing death or injury was another problem.

The Holy See was a force for good and could not go about conducting trials on people they dragged off the streets; this barbaric and irresponsible act, akin to suspecting someone as a witch and then subjecting them to severe torture in a basement before burning them at the stake, was no different.

It simply could not be done!

Thus, Gunther’s complaints about the trouble of Angels reincarnating caused the Pope to tear out his hair in distress.

But returning to the main point, as Wayne was infused with a torrent of Holy Light and shuddered slightly, he did not explode.

The Book of Greed: Hanging with the Holy See, fed thrice in nine days.

The defense mechanism increased its output intensity, and there was so much Holy Light it even spilled out, creating a grave misinterpretation for Gunther, who had no idea that Wayne could cheat, thinking he had really found the right person.

The Book of Greed, having acquired a great amount of Holy Light, made Wayne feel an intense heat, too warm, and the overflowing Holy Light unable to be discharged within his body, accumulating bit by bit until it became a blazing Holy Flame.

The Book of Greed, picky with its mouth, wouldn’t touch what it had already tasted, let alone nibble on scraps; these Holy Lights had already been sampled, no matter how delightful they were, they wouldn’t be consumed a second time.

Wayne, unable to bear the intense heat, locked eyes with the Book of Greed, tinging his own Magic Power with a pure white sanctity, pretending to be one of their own made it much more bearable.

Now, bathed in the Holy Light, there was no longer a sensation of burning heat, it was comfortably warm.

He had once encountered Lord Pride’s Reincarnation Altar which bore the Golden Rule Holy Words; faking affiliation was more than enough, the defense mechanism thus ceased its output, and a shining door opened wide for him.

To call it a door was actually to refer to two tall and majestic pillars engraved with countless mysterious and complex patterns and symbols; the pure light that shone from within gave Wayne a sense of inexpressible peace and tranquility, as if his soul had been elevated.

The Book of Greed could hardly wait, howling as it rushed forward.

Wayne slapped it down, calming it significantly.

I haven’t yet rushed in, what are you so anxious about; get in line!

Wayne’s own desire rose sharply, and the moment Heaven’s Gate appeared, his thought projection reached the gate, hesitated for 0.25 seconds, and then carefully peeked inside.

His thoughts penetrated into Heaven’s Gate, shaping uncontrollably.

Pale limbs, a face without features, and a giant solitary eye split open across his chest, these were the characteristics he had after merging with the Book of Greed.

Inside the gate, the sky was enveloped by a mysterious light, and the whole world bathed in divine brilliance.

Deep within the clouds, grand white palaces dotted around, rainbows formed bridges, waterfalls glimmered with silver, and occasionally, a dragon’s cry stirred the waves amidst the sea of clouds.

A magnificent tapestry slowly unfolded in front of Wayne, and the mystic and solemn aura hit him head-on.

Flap, flap——

Beams of light descended from the heavens, and Angels with wings on their backs flickered in and out of visibility within the Holy Light; their faces were blurred and indistinguishable, only the wise light shining from their eyes could be seen.
