Chapter 246: Chapter 135 Devil vs Angel_2
If not for Little Brother being a careless person, if lucky, his plan really might have succeeded.
Wayne knew nothing, neither understanding the situation in Hell nor knowing the true history. He had never even seen Lord Pride, but through the reincarnation at the altar, his doppelganger, he had come to deeply understand one principle.
It wasn’t the territory that mattered, the key was crucial!
At least, on this barren land, the altar was the greatest treasure left by Lord Pride.
As Wayne kept infusing his thoughts, his Devil Doppelganger, that is, the White Bat, grew.
From the very beginning, a ball with two wings, the size of a palm, to now over two meters tall with limbs and head intact, growing very satisfactory.
Wayne, unable to think of a better name at the moment, temporarily named this doppelganger the Demon Bat.
The Demon Bat stood two meters tall with a pale body very similar to Wayne’s skin after merging with The Book of Greed, its muscles and veins like swollen proliferation tissue, with a vertical slit and a single eye on its chest, extending downwards in pitch black color.
A breath of fresh air amidst the mudslide, besides him, no one looked so distinctive.
Apart from these parts, the other features of the Demon Bat were very much in the style of Hell.
A white chin, black lips, ghastly white fangs, the part of the face above the bridge of the nose and the head was covered and wrapped in black keratin, six golden eyes arranged neatly in three pairs on either side.
Pale hands with sharp, slender black nails, wings white on the inside and black outside, a spine protruding on the back, and from the position of the coccyx, a white tail extended over two meters, black only at the tip of the tail.
The doppelganger had fully matured, at least it had broken through the growth phase and entered maturity.
Through his doppelganger, Wayne felt the land beneath his feet and, after obtaining the authority, he understood even more the value of the key.
To be fair, as just a bystander, to speak the truth, in order to protect the human world from the invasion of Devils, the Thousand-Eyed Demon personally entrusted the Divine Artifact to the hero, he tried very hard.
Wayne was moved by this spirit and prepared, with tears in his eyes, to slay the Thousand-Eyed Demon. To his left was the Death Knight, and to his right was the Devil Doppelganger; this was sure to succeed.
Boom!!!
The Spatial Fissure tore open, and the dazzling Holy Light descended.
Wayne and the Thousand-Eyed Demon both turned to the unexpected guest, a slightly short figure with holy wings spread behind, transmuting Holy Light into Holy Scripture Armor, Holy Spear.
"Bruce, an Angel has come, stop him."
"Oh."
Wayne casually replied.
Just at this moment!
Wayne frowned, a warning came from his doppelganger; he empathized and sensed the Angel’s strong hostility.
One was an authentic Devil, and the other was an alchemically created semi-finished product. The Demon Bat was seen by the Angel as the primary target to be eliminated, with the Thousand-Eyed Demon becoming a secondary concern.
The Holy Light swept down ferociously, a violent white torrent surged hundreds of meters, like a giant tsunami roaring down, submerging rivers of molten lava and red hills, unstoppable as it destroyed everything in its path.
In just the blink of an eye, the red hills where Wayne was located were flattened, the magnificent Crucifix Holy Light tore through the darkness, shooting into the dark vortex at the dome, like a white lance fiercely plunged into the Hell Gate.
...
In the last moment before the Holy Flame struck, Wayne plunged headlong into the Demon Bat’s body, not having time to get accustomed to controlling this new form before the shockwave swept him and the altar down into the lava.
As a Lord, every part of the territory belonged to him, and naturally, the lava was no exception.
The heat of the lava not only did no harm to his body, it felt as comfortable as soaking in a hot spring.
Wayne had intended to just lie there, waiting for the Angel to leave, and in the meantime, he planned to use the heat of the lava to melt the altar, so that after him, no other Devil Doppelganger could successfully reincarnate.
Such a precious treasure, he had already obtained it, so benefiting others would be his loss, so it must be destroyed!
Unfortunately, the Angel wasn’t so easily deceived, specialized in combat, with a precise sense of smell for Devils.
The Devil wanted to lay low, but the Angel disagreed.
Angel: Devil, stand up!
...
The Thousand-Eyed Demon watched in shock as the red hills collapsed, his trusted general Bruce, and the hopeful Devil Doppelganger were instantly erased, along with the altar, falling into the river of lava and vanishing in the blink of an eye.
Without any struggle.
"Gone?!"
"Is this the extent of Lord Pride’s grand gesture?"
The calamity came too fast, directly stupefying the Thousand-Eyed Demon. Clearly, not because the Angel was too strong, but because the Devil Doppelganger was too weak, too weak to withstand even a single blow.
But soon, the Thousand-Eyed Demon didn’t think so anymore. The Angel’s attack continued relentlessly, the Holy Light and Holy Flame blasting at the river of lava as if costless.
Perhaps Bruce was already dead, but the Devil Doppelganger was still there, uncontrollable only because no one knew to resist.
"That’s good, you’ve already received the best reward, loyalty!"
The Thousand-Eyed Demon closed his eyes, trying to control the thoughts of the Demon Bat. He had tainted Bruce’s thoughts, and Bruce’s thoughts had formed the Demon Bat; by the equation, the Demon Bat should be under his control.
It failed, this was an inequality!
The Thousand-Eyed Demon tried every means to contact him but was always unable to make a connection with the Demon Bat, as if he was a wrong number, as though he had never tainted Bruce at all.
"This is not possible, it must be..."
It must be because of the Holy Light!
The Thousand-Eyed Demon was in a panic, hastily finding an excuse for himself. Trying to suppress the pain of receiving thoughts, he attempted to stand up, to deal with the Angel first, then to receive more thoughts until the true entity completely descended.
Success was within reach, and there was no reason to fall at the last step.
