Chapter 173: Chapter 107: Silver Cross: God, Fate, Void, Me_3
Hefei tilted her head; the similarity was uncanny. When Wayne talked about making money, he was almost a spitting image of a scoundrel.
The difference was that the scoundrel was adept at finance, making a killing in the bill exchange sector, while Wayne was wholeheartedly focused on earning money from women.
That evening, Wayne refused to stay overnight and took a car back to Wayne Manor.
Being late for class inevitably led to lessons running late, plus with the students’ dull minds, it looked like he would trouble his senior teacher to stay at Wayne Manor again today.
It had been like this for a while, and even Wayne was beginning to feel a bit embarrassed.
Why don’t you just move in, senior sister, so you don’t have to run back and forth day and night? It’s not just troublesome but also a waste of time.
Meanwhile, Hefei, with her drawings in hand, sought out Austin and asked for the professional’s opinion. Wayne had defined the new stockings as high-end luxury items and insisted they would be embraced by high society.
Austin: "..."
So risqué, it’s practically high society! Others may not know, but he would definitely burst his budget buying them.
Take this garter belt, for example, he genuinely adored it, it was filled with a retro vibe.
He’s a gentleman, and gentlemen love retro!
I heard there’s also a new underwear design concept; that smart aleck sure has a lot of ideas up his sleeve... and who knows what else he’s hiding.
It might be a good thing to keep it.
For a moment, Austin was caught in a dilemma, to keep it or not. If he did, his daughter would surely suffer; if he didn’t, his wife would have no new clothes to wear.
Such a conundrum!
"Are you going to say something?"
"Yeah, it’s not that it’s not okay."

Dawn broke, and the mist cleared.
Lundan today was somewhat gloomy, the weather gods weren’t smiling, and a storm seemed imminent.
Gentleman Wayne opened the car door for Chris and placed her inside, once again apologizing for being late the previous night. If it weren’t for him, the senior sister teacher wouldn’t have had to stay overnight at Wayne Manor.
After closing the car door, Wayne gave Butler a meaningful look.
Philark: You don’t need to signal me every day, my lord, I understand.
Wayne: No, you don’t understand.
Philark: Ah, I see now, I understand.
Wayne: Good that you understand; just make sure to be discreet, don’t let her catch on.
After exchanging looks with his master, Philark instantly grasped what the lord was thinking. It wasn’t enough just to speak nicely in the car; they needed to deploy a few more wingmen.
Like spreading rumors.
Chris was such a beautiful girl, whisked away every night by a luxurious black car and returning to school only the next morning. Did she have a wealthy boyfriend? Was she staying at her boyfriend’s place every night?
How far had their relationship progressed, and when were they planning to get married?
Such rumors were fair game to spread!
They couldn’t really call it rumors, just gossip, which considering it was a girls’ school, was the most popular kind of conversation to have after meals.
Wayne instructed Philark to be subtle. If necessary, Philark would handle it himself, devising several downlines, sponsoring poor female college students, or even teachers could do - spending a bit more was not a problem.
In short, don’t skimp if money can smooth things over.
...
After the butler left, Wayne, with his luggage in hand, went to the back garden to begin his morning swordsmanship practice.
Ah Xue squatted in the tree the whole time.
This was Wayne’s requirement; by joining the Sun Church, it was as if a white pair of underwear had been stained with a patch of mud, not excrement but as good as, and it couldn’t be washed clean any longer.
All this was thanks to Ah Xue; the bird itself couldn’t escape blame. At this point, reporting it would only be self-incriminating, so it should stop entertaining any sly thoughts.
Ah Xue stayed silent throughout. If time could be reversed, it certainly would not follow Wayne out of curiosity and leave the Bird House.
After lunch, Wayne took a black car to Commercial Street.
Verily hadn’t stayed over last night and was still distressed about the multiple-choice matter. In her absence, Wayne had no need to press the pavements; chatting and laughing with the butler in the car, they soon arrived at the Detective Agency.
The Detective Agency was starting interviews that afternoon to recruit staff. The first position was the receptionist that represented the face of the Agency. Wayne’s requirements weren’t high: young and pretty, with long legs and ample bust, and good taste in clothes and demeanor to let clients know at first glance that the place wasn’t cheap.
For the employees, Wayne signed a contract with Wesley to serve as the second-best detective at the Wayne Detective Agency, while Wesley in another office was responsible for hiring detective staff.
The Wayne Detective Agency wasn’t large, five detectives would do; they didn’t need to fill all positions initially, hiring just two would suffice.
At two o’clock, around tea time, Wayne received a call from Karl.
"I read the newspaper, heard you’re hiring?"
"You found that out? Your sources are really well-informed."
"Want me to introduce someone to you? My sister, she’s exactly the kind of ’ugly girl’ you like. It’s almost tea time; I can set up a meeting for you."
"..."
Haha, I have to see just how beautiful she can be!
