Enguima glared angrily at his two allies, muttering that it wasn’t worth it.
He was a devil with dreams, aspiring to be one of the Seven Deadly Sins. He allied with Setoras and Martia because they shared the same ideals, and together swore on Martia’s chest to pull a Great Demon King off his pedestal.
It now seemed he had overestimated his two allies, who were too timid to accomplish great deeds.
"Harmony is precious" or "Money can avert disaster"—clearly, it’s just cowardice.
"I warn you, he’s really strong. If we don’t take him out today, he’ll be riding over us in the future. This is the best opportunity." Enguima said through gritted teeth.
It made a lot of sense, but Setoras and Martia both had their own plans. Keeping a tacit distance from Enguima, their small boat of friendship rocked unsteadily in the storm.
Enguima’s mood fluctuated with uncertainty, not understanding what his allies were thinking. In a fit of rage, he transformed into a red light and disappeared into the distance.
Going home to tell the parents!
"This powerful Lord, a pleasure to meet you. I am Setoras, also known as the Night Monarch. You should have heard of my name."
"Abyssal Spider Queen, Martia."
More than heard of you two—I was sabotaging your failed attempt to open the Hell Gate from the shadows.
"So it’s the Night Monarch and the Abyssal Spider Queen. I’ve long admired your reputations. Seeing you today, you indeed are devils among devils." Wayne sheathed his Abyssal Sword, noticing Martia was giving him a flirtatious look, and returned a polite yet elegant lewd smile.
New to Hell and unfamiliar with its customs, he figured that witches must be exceedingly confident in their charm. Not responding would surely offend them.
Seeing the newcomer exchanging flirtatious glances with Martia, not stopping unless told to, Setoras stepped forward politely: "Your excellency, after all this talk, I still don’t know your name."
Setoras’s humanoid form was a young man with long black hair, cultured and refined, while Martia’s mature beauty was not lacking in charisma.
The two Demon Kings, if placed in the Mortal World, would be the elites of high society.
"My name is Soskuna. I used to live in the Abyss. The two of you should have heard of the Abyssal Python Clan." Wayne generously revealed his information.
He hadn’t paid much attention to Soskuna’s situation, and after asking Vizi some time ago and gaining a little insight, he hadn’t dug deeper into the exact details of the Abyssal Python Clan due to lack of interest.
Fortunately, it wasn’t a problem, and it was more than enough for him to impersonate.
Setoras furrowed his brow: "I know of the name Soskuna. Your faith... it’s not in Hell, is it?"
"You know that? "
"I have some small tricks in intelligence gathering." Setoras smirked, as intelligence was complex and he only understood a little.
Among the three giants of the Devil Alliance, Setoras’s intelligence was crucial. Knowing about Soskuna was no surprise; Martia wasn’t suspicious either.
Unaware of the underlying reasons, Wayne didn’t think much of it and nodded: "Since you already know, I’ll be straightforward. I have long worshipped the Dark Goddess and am now a strong contender for the position of the third Subsidiary God."
"Is that so? Allow me to offer my congratulations in advance."
Setoras raised an eyebrow: "From my observations, you’ve descended into Hell in your true form. As a native of the Abyss, which is now part of Hell, it might not be easy to return to the Dark Divine Kingdom. Can I assume that you’ve abandoned your faith in the Dark Goddess?"
"No, my faith remains unchanged."
With a solemn expression, Wayne lamented: "Descending in my true form was not by choice. I encountered a tricky enemy and was forced to activate a hidden force, sacrificing my Mind Avatar in Hell to bring my true form here."
"What kind of enemy could push you to such an extent?"
"Very strong, exceptionally strong. In front of him, I had no ability to retaliate..." Wayne shook his head, expressing frustration while simultaneously praising the powerful adversary.
Setoras wanted to gather more intelligence, but Wayne waved it off, unwilling to discuss further, and instead said, "I’ve only recently come to Hell. Not long ago, my Mind Avatar made a deal with the Lord of Gluttony to gain some territory in Hell. Could you tell me why Hell has become such a mess?"
"It’s a long story, with various reasons. If you are free, Soskuna, you could sit in my palace and let me explain slowly." Martia said with a faint smile.
Wayne was momentarily entranced, thinking to himself that a witch in Hell was indeed different from one in the Mortal World. Facing Martia’s allure, even with his formidable resistance he almost lost control.
If the Spider Queen is like this, how much more overpowering must the Lord of Lust be!
"That would be nice. I was thinking the same."
Wayne nodded, playing the role of a lecher with Soskuna’s face, unconcerned about damaging his personal reputation.
Just in case, he looked at Setoras beside him: "This isn’t the place for talking. Why not all go together?"
"That sounds good." x2
Setoras, eager for more intelligence, agreed gladly.
What started as a hookup invitation from Martia became a trio, and upon consideration, it wasn’t so bad. With the comparison, it was more straightforward, and recommending someone to the leadership couldn’t afford the slightest sloppiness.
Martia’s lair, situated deep within her domain, was not the dank spider den one might expect. The palace was impressive in its grandeur, opulence surpassing even that of the Papal State.
Luxurious in every corner, it was evident that the owner was a devil who knew how to enjoy herself.
The three not-quite-human figures entered the living room. Martia raised her hand to unzip her long evening gown, watching as it slipped down to her chest, but realizing Wayne and Setoras were engaged in conversation and not even looking at her, she decisively zipped it back up.
