Chapter 1355: Chapter 450: Did not encounter the Devil, but went straight to Hell (10,000-word Chapter asking for Monthly Tickets)_3

The entrance is a standard Moonlight Arch. As Wayne stepped inside, the ice-bound palace gradually awakened, revealing sword-like spires piercing the sky.

On the surrounding walls, various lunar symbols are carved. Each column is entwined with silver-textured vines that radiate a gentle glow and a faint fragrance whenever someone passes by.

Calm and serene, it felt like a fairyland in the Moon Palace, aloof from the mundane, perfectly aligning with Wayne’s stereotypical impression of Shi Luke.

There were no living creatures inside the palace, only a Phoenix hanging in the sky serving as a light source.

The Phoenix is the possession of the Sun Goddess, naturally attuned to the Fire Element. It lowered its head to gaze at the mysterious visitor, vaguely recalling having seen this face somewhere before.

Wayne looked up and waved to greet the Phoenix.

Speaking of which, most of his skills are related to the Phoenix, such as flight, heat vision, and a formidable Fire Elemental Affinity...

They originate from fourteen Resentful Spirits, and the Resentful Spirits, in turn, originate from the Phoenix. Tracing the roots, wasn’t the Phoenix an investor of sorts?

Setting aside Fire Elemental Affinity, without the Phoenix, Wayne’s Fire Elemental Affinity would still be terrifying. Together with Archangel Hexuno, who represents water, they formed a perfect balance of "water and fire".

On his rare visit to the Goddess’s palace, Wayne did not rush straight to the relic entrance but took his time wandering around, eventually finding what seemed to be a bedroom.

He had no particular motive, only wanting to see if there was a bookshelf in the bedroom and whether any diaries were placed on it.

After searching for a while, the palace was empty, except for a room that resembled an altar, where a wardrobe with silver-white robes was found.

"All four robes are of the same style. The Goddess’s taste is too monotonous. Speaking of which, Shi Luke possesses Guinevere’s body every time she comes to the palace for a break. These should be Guinevere’s clothes..."

Wayne muttered, not caring whose they were. Since he was already here, he couldn’t just leave empty-handed.

With a wave of his hand, he threw the robes into his Personal Space, assuming they were Shi Luke’s spare clothes, and then complained, "They’re all outer garments, not a single piece of underwear. What is the Goddess thinking? Is this the so-called liberation theology?"

"Tsk, as a Goddess, under the sacred robes, they’re actually quite unconstrained. Yet, they think themselves high-class!"

Wayne walked and grumbled, feeling quite displeased at not having scavenged any spoils, suspecting that Shi Luke had already cleaned up before he arrived. Otherwise, the place would be littered with garbage, with a laundry basket full of dirty clothes.

If he were a bit more daring, even the Goddess’s feet would stink, and when the socks were tossed to the ground, they would stand with a "thump".

"Ugh!"

"Wayne knew badmouthing the Goddess wasn’t right, so he only thought about it and expressed it through a narrative, without saying it aloud," Wayne mumbled as he walked.

The Sky City was cleaner than Wayne’s face, with nothing to gain, leaving behind a heap of complaints as a parting gift.

As per the map, he arrived at the rear hall, where his eyes fell upon the Lunar Magic Arch, reminiscent of a time when he was eighteen and saw three portal doors in a muscleman gym.

He raised his hand to touch the arch, infused it with silver-white moonlight magic power, and a strong light blossomed, pulling him into it.

Wayne’s vision spun wildly. Before him appeared a vast ocean, with a green pillar piercing the sky from its center. The sun and moon hovered above, casting dual-toned light.

Without thinking much, his suspended body swiftly moved, flying towards the heavens.

...

Above the firmament, white clouds served as the ground, and an ancient city stood within the wilderness formed by vines.

Within the city, palaces lay mostly in ruins, seeming like temples entwined with vines, blending with the surrounding natural environment.

At the very center of the ancient city, an intact open-air council plaza was preserved.

Dozens of pillars surrounded the plaza in a circle, guarding it, with a statue representing a deity at the base of each pillar.

Some are covered with robes hiding their mystique, others clad in glorious armor, wielding canes and wielding shields, or trading swords and playing with arrows. The interwoven light of the sun and moon illuminated the whole plaza, silently drawing people back to that magnificent era.

The names of the gods were engraved on the bases of the statues, allowing future generations to remember these pioneers on the path of evolution.

Five figures walked through the plaza, pausing to discuss each statue they passed.

"Hades..."

Soskuna frowned and said, "Who is this god? Such an arrogant name, never heard of it, likely a defeated subordinate of the Goddess of Death."

"No, looking at the statue’s style, the robe cannot hide an elegant figure. It is a woman. Isn’t it possible that the Goddess of Death was once called Hades?" Haina speculated.

"Perhaps."

"The Supreme Light Bearer..."

Gexiu laughed, shaking his head repeatedly, "This god’s name is even more arrogant, violating Heaven’s taboo. I bet he was slain by the Heavenly Father in the war of faith."

"Fire God..."

"Winter God..."

"Ocean Enchantress..."

"King of the Deep Sea..."

"Lord of the Oceans..."

"Wait, did you notice there are many demigods here closely related to the Water Element, yet the Life Alliance does not feature any water-related deities," Sid pointed out suspiciously.

"Indeed."

Several demigods counted, and deities linked to the ocean amounted to seven or eight, occupying a significant proportion in the Life Alliance.

"Water is the Origin of Life; the ocean below attests to the crucial role of ’water’ for life. Yet, all Water-related demigods in the Life Alliance failed to evolve..."

Soskuna looked puzzled at the others, "What’s the situation here? Is it a collective failure, or did certain goddesses deliberately design it this way to prevent the birth of an ocean deity?"
