Chapter 1353: Chapter 450: Did not encounter the Devil, but went straight to Hell (10,000-word Chapter asking for Monthly Tickets)
The sun and moon coexist, the sky and sea blend as one.
On the vast, endless blue sea surface, there lies a secluded island hidden from the long river of history.
This oasis is covered with immense green plants, with vines hundreds of meters thick coiling and spiraling, rooted in the rocks beneath the sea, converging from all directions like dragons and pythons, and extending upwards, piercing the skies.
From afar, vines connect heaven and earth, resembling a giant’s arm supporting the firmament, imparting an endless sense of oppression.
Naturally holding up the sky, the sun and moon together, facing the mysterious great power, the human power seems so insignificant, like a mere speck of dust.
Vines hold up a sky to serve as a foundation, upon which the once Life Alliance was established.
There lies an awe-inspiring array of continuous palaces, and as time has passed, only broken stone tablets, rusty weapons, and untranslated mysterious runes remain, silently narrating the past glory and legend of the Life Alliance.
It is both a relic and a symbol, burying the wise ancestors who fell on the path of evolution.
Several figures float up, following the vines rushing into the sky.
Leading them is the old unlucky fellow—not really—from the Abyss, a follower of the Darkness, a key contender for the third God Devourer—the Abyssal Python Soskuna.
Despite often getting thwarted before Wayne, within the Dark Divine Kingdom, who doesn’t know the name Soskuna, as the one closest to being the third Subsidiary God, his future is limitless, the two existing Subsidiary Gods, The Listener and The Avenger, even show him some respect.
In everyone’s eyes, Soskuna is already a Subsidiary God, just needing a bit more time to amass his foundation, and he would be one.
Where there are people, there’s a circle; the Dark Divine Kingdom is no exception. The Goddess is too distant, the Subsidiary Gods are too proud; unable to interact directly with these three, Soskuna became a hot investment choice.
Taking the chance to build goodwill before he becomes a Subsidiary God can’t go wrong.
With active investors, Soskuna doesn’t accept everyone but raises the bar to select the best candidates.
Finally, he settled on five comrades to advance and retreat together.
It’s comrades instead of subordinates because former Dark Knight Vizi was personally invited by him; the Dark Knight, being the Goddess’s God-chosen Knight, cannot be a subordinate to Soskuna, joining as an ally.
Soskuna, having been through many hardships over the years, experienced wars in Hell and the Abyss, and skilled in worldly wisdom, wisely dubbed the remaining four subordinates as allies, giving everyone enough face.
Besides Vizi, among the remaining four allies, two hail from the Abyss, fellow townsmen of Soskuna, and the other two are old hands from the Divine Nation, each possessing Demigod Level Cultivation Realm.
The two Demigods from the Divine Nation are named Sid and Gexiu, started from the God-chosen Continent, of standard human lineage, stepping onto the evolution path of the Dark Elves.
The two Demigods from the Abyss, Saiyi, and Haina, are worth mentioning.
The native forms of the Abyss are varied and strange, with black giant pythons like Soskuna and half-bodied spiders like Martia, while Saiyi and Haina are relatively anthropomorphic, seeming indistinguishable from humans on the God-chosen Continent at first glance.
Upon closer inspection, one would notice the bizarre limb proportions of these twin sisters; over two meters tall, with chest and belly taking more than half, six slender arms spread on both sides, hands and feet extraordinarily lithe.
Black sclera, red pupils, fangs filling the mouth when opened, tongue bifurcated and slender like that of a serpent.
With an enchanting appearance, but fundamentally well-founded, if one has enough courage, it’s not impossible.
By their appearance, it can be discerned that the twins’ bloodline is mixed, having blood relations with other abyssal races, tracing back three generations...
Uh, who knows how they conjured up such a mating process, it’s really complicated.
"It’s a pity Vizi isn’t here, otherwise she would’ve shared in today’s bounty." Gexiu said regretful words without any regret.
One more person means one less share; Vizi’s absence is appreciated.
Saiyi and Haina nodded repeatedly; though outwardly close with the usually silent Vizi, in truth, the sisters weren’t pleased.
Day by day pulling a long face, who is she putting on airs for, with such lofty attitude, why not continue being the Dark Knight, why fake death to leave the God-chosen Continent!
"Ahem!"
Soskuna lightly coughed, interrupting the unpleasant exchange, then sighed, "Vizi is already dead, she sacrificed for us; she was a very loyal knight, principled and never betraying, I hope everyone continues respecting her as before."
As the leading elder spoke, the four Demigods said no more.
Sid questioned, "Soskuna, is Vizi really dead, and dead on the God-chosen Continent, could she have faked her death again?"
"I am very certain, she’s truly dead."
Soskuna shook his head, he had been trying to get in touch with Vizi, never receiving a response, given Vizi’s knightly spirit and moral integrity, lost contact could only mean she fell in battle.
Couldn’t have switched allegiance to a new leader, fearing misunderstandings so severed contact directly, right?
That would be too unlike a God-chosen Knight!
Vizi wasn’t such a person.
"Aspiring to become a Subsidiary God isn’t that simple, all along, due to the lack of competitors, I’ve been conceited, forgetting that to stand out as a Subsidiary God requires a baptism of blood..."
Soskuna murmured, he had sought advice from The Listener and The Avenger, the two Subsidiary God seniors, asking what kind of trials they faced to gain recognition as Subsidiary Gods.
The Listener and The Avenger sighed sentimentally, one showing a bitter smile, the other shaking head quietly, telling Soskuna not to ask much, he’ll understand when the time comes.
The Goddess has her own plans.
Though the two Subsidiary Gods didn’t speak plainly, Soskuna isn’t foolish; observing their expressions, he vaguely speculated.
