Chapter 1341: Chapter 447: Faith is not about fighting and killing, faith is about human relationships and worldly wisdom

Wayne glared fiercely at Risa: "Let’s make it clear, only I can glare here, and only I can interrupt!"

Risa looked bitter: "Archangel Hexuno, please stop fooling the subordinates. You represent the purity of the Seven Virtues; it’s impossible for you to lose your purity. If I’m not mistaken, those were just jokes."

"How could it be a joke? Mona is already pregnant, and with such a serious matter, do you think I would joke with you?" Wayne sneered continuously.

"Gulp!"

Risa swallowed a mouthful of saliva. The Papal State was always thinking of retaining the Angel Bloodline, to leverage it in signing contracts with stronger enforcers. Now that they’ve secured the top enforcer from Heaven, he couldn’t find any reason to laugh.

"Archangel, will I go to Hell?"

"No, others going to Hell is an exile punishment, but you going to Hell would be like returning home. Your actions are enough to earn you the reputation of the Eighth Sin in Hell; even Pride would have to serve you tea." Wayne sarcastically praised.

Risa’s vision darkened, mouth agape, unable to speak for a while.

Perhaps, while it’s still feasible, he should cultivate connections, test the Demon King’s intentions, and plan for future residence in Hell?

"You seem to be thinking of things contrary to your faith!"

Wayne curled his lips, obviously, the Pope is deceitful and even among the eccentric Insectoid Mage community, he’s like a landslide.

Such a person sees everything clearer than anyone from his high position, preaches grand ideals that he doesn’t believe in, living with profound clarity.

A savvy soul, truly worldly-wise!

Wayne strongly suspected that the Pope didn’t have a secretary, only a vast team of professional secretaries.

"Archangel, do I still have a chance for redemption?"

"Principally, no; theoretically, impossible."

So, there is a chance!

In the darkness, a ray of hope appeared, and Risa clutched it tightly and respectfully said, "Archangel, how can I redeem myself?"

"How did you become the Pope? Aren’t you the head of the Papal State? Such a straightforward truth, and you need me to teach you?"

"Ah, this..."

When did Heaven become like this?

"Be confident, Heaven and the Mortal World are no different, they’ve always been like this!" Wayne nodded solemnly, affirming Risa’s speculation.

With official affirmation from the Archangel, Risa finally felt relieved.

Yet, his hanging heart also died.

Relieved because his crimes weren’t punishable by death; just blame the burned warehouse on the devil and resolve it.

It’s not the first time; since the founding of the Papal State, every time the regime changes, there’s a demon invasion.

Died because of the bad mood; despite being worldly-wise, deep down, he still longed for Heaven. In his youth, he imagined a flawless Sacred Realm of Heaven, and as he grew up, this fantasy remained buried in his heart as a piece of spiritual purity.

Suddenly, that purity was sullied.

In a moment, he didn’t know whether to cry or laugh.

Ultimately, as a mature and stable Pope, he courteously invited Wayne to visit his home.

To be precise, it was the Archangel’s arrival at the earthly palace; the Pope could only be considered a butler, with other clergy as servants.

"Keep it low-key, I’m here on a mission. Inside is the Holy Maiden from the Death Church, now associated with me; through her, I’ll strike against the evil faith of the Death Church and uproot the Heretic influence from the God-chosen Continent." Wayne said with a fierce expression.

Risa nodded repeatedly, not believing at all from the bottom of his heart.

Faith isn’t about fighting; faith is about human relations. If the division of spoils cannot be agreed upon, that’s when conflicts arise.

Since Heaven and the Mortal World are the same, the Pope understands this principle, certainly the Archangel understands too; saying nice things is just for appearances.

"It’s hard work for the Archangel to eliminate the Heretics."

"I’m not the one who works hard; you guys on the ground do."

Wayne patted the little old man’s shoulder: "Find a few quick-witted ones, let them stir things up a bit, not too big, nor too small, just spread the news."

When talking to the clever, there’s no need to say much, especially when handling important matters; it’s crucial not to be subtle, otherwise the subordinates might misinterpret and ruin good intentions.

Anyway, when not serious, tact is required so the subordinates can freely misinterpret.

This aids in shifting blame, where the higher-ups mean well and only errors occur during execution by the lower ranks.

As a savvy individual, Risa understood Wayne’s intent: "I’ll personally arrange this matter. Please follow me; I’ll show you the Papal State’s beautiful scenery."

"Nuns are out of the question; I’ve abstained."

"Archangel, rest assured, I will never make the same mistake twice," Risa vowed solemnly.

"Since you say so, I’m reassured."

...

The Papal State is divided into three layers: the Papal State in the eyes of the commoners, the Papal State in the eyes of the clergy, and the Papal State in the eyes of the Pope.

Some clergy members never get to see the true Papal State in their lifetime.

Yet even the Papal State seen by commoners is a mysterious nation; if you had to use a precise adjective, it would be resplendent.

Viewed from high above, the core area of the Papal State is a Sacred Realm of Heaven encrusted with gold and gemstones.

Every floor tile, every dome, exudes an overwhelming luxury and splendor, as if forged from countless melted gold coins, with the sunlight lingering on this land, unwilling to leave, solidifying into a giant gemstone adorning the God-chosen Continent.

Majestic and dignified palaces, magnificent and splendid courtyards, exquisite sculptures, delicate and vivid murals...

Exquisite luxury and dignity reached their peak, making its artistic components the highest in the God-chosen Continent, as high as a skyscraper.
