Chapter 1322: Chapter 442 Sun Goddess, Moonlight Goddess_2

Philomena is the Golden Mage of the Moonlight Church headquarters. After arriving in Lundan, she advanced to become a Legend. System-wise, she aligns with the Pope’s faction, much like Givenchy. As for Holy Maiden Guinevere, who rarely shows herself, the two aren’t very familiar.

When we say Guinevere "rarely shows herself," it’s quite literal—she always keeps herself tightly covered, her hood shielding most of her face, leaving only a glimpse of her platinum-blonde hair.

"Thank you, Your Holiness, for your praise. I’m simply doing all this for The Church," Philomena responded with a polished and official tone.

Outsiders misunderstand her "robbing the cradle" behavior to an extent. She only used seduction as a last resort to tie Wayne to the Moonlight Church.

Yes, exactly! That’s all there is to it!

Guinevere stared blankly at Philomena, who seemed eager to claim credit. Dryly, she remarked, "Two days ago, High Priest Givenchy from the Paris District proposed transferring to Lundan, perhaps to swap roles with you. But now it seems unnecessary."

"What?!"

Philomena slammed her teacup down with a bang, fuming, "That idiot’s out there womanizing again?"

"No, not quite. Mister Wayne is actually quite reserved," Guinevere replied with a jab.

"Then why is Givenchy trying to come to Lundan?"

"Uh, she’s lusting after Mister Wayne’s body. She’s shameless..."

Guinevere waved her hand, realizing her slip, quickly changing the subject to inquire about Moonlight Knight successor Wayne’s behavior in Lundan.

There wasn’t much point in asking; last night’s banquet already said enough. Wayne was busy seducing women all day, clearly a lowlife driven by his desires—a 24K grade-A scumbag.

The banquet had misled Guinevere, courtesy of the Resentful Spirit’s antics. But Chris and Viley didn’t provide any clarification, seemingly for their own purposes, and outright agreed with Guinevere’s disdain for the lecher.

"You’re absolutely right. The Moonlight Knight’s successor is just like that—rotten to the core, irredeemable. Thankfully, we can avoid him rather than provoke him. In the future, let’s just keep our distance."

An entire room full of women—plus a cat—made for plenty of drama.

Half an hour later, Wayne drove back to find himself facing a colorful crowd, muttering under his breath, "Ridiculous."

As always, there’s a saying: the Magic Realm’s palette is running low.

"Mister Wayne." x2

"Your Holinesses, welcome to Lundan. When did you arrive? Why didn’t you come to my place to find me?" Wayne feigned cluelessness.

"You idiot. Isn’t this your place?" Philomena sneered.

"My bad. I’ll fix that right away."

Wayne sat beside Philomena, noticing an empty seat nearby. He winked at Chris and Viley like a scheming villain, clearly staking a claim. Limited availability—first come, first served.

Chris, being shy, felt awkward joining in. She politely refused.

Mid-refusal, she noticed Viley stand up and walk toward Wayne. After a moment of hesitation, she decisively followed suit.

Moving quickly, she snagged the spot beside Wayne before Viley could.

Viley smirked faintly, opting to sit directly on Wayne’s lap.

Everyone saw it—she didn’t have much of a choice, there simply wasn’t another seat.

Wayne: As expected of you. You never let me down.

Viley: Impressive, huh!

Wayne sat there with Viley in his arms, flirting shamelessly. The scene was so overwhelming it made Guinevere shake her head repeatedly before turning her gaze to the deeply contemplative Cote, thinking to herself that the Sun Church was doomed.

Valkyrie and Ah Xue didn’t see it that way; they believed the Moonlight Church was finished.

"Your Holinesses, it’s only been... oh, just a few days since Paris. What’s the result of your inquiries with the Goddess? What’s the new Divine Decree?" Wayne asked straightforwardly.

"The Goddess has some words she wishes to share with you alone. Can we find a quieter place?" Guinevere mustered a hesitant smile.

"What’s this? A top-secret matter?"

"Perhaps...."

Guinevere struggled to find her words, finally assuming an air of dignity: "As a God-chosen Knight, you’ve committed too many misdeeds. The Goddess is thoroughly dissatisfied with you and intends to reprimand you privately. Considering your contributions to The Church, she’ll do so discreetly to save face for you."

"Is that true? Spreading false Divine Decrees is a serious offense!"

"..."

"Fine, no teasing. Let’s head to the basement for this talk."

Wayne stood up, carefully setting Viley on the sofa, and led the two Holy Maidens toward the basement. His peripheral vision caught a restless Valkyrie, so he shot her a reassuring smile.

He understood and promised to find a way to arrange a meeting between Valkyrie and the Sun Goddess.

Seeing the smile on Wayne’s face, Valkyrie relaxed considerably.

"???"

Ah Xue watched, confused, with a row of question marks floating over its head. It wanted to say something too. It wanted to meet the Goddess, so why didn’t Wayne smile at it?

...

In the basement, the lights flickered on, revealing a spacious and empty room.

Wayne gestured and cast a Soundproof Barrier, signaling the two Holy Maidens to summon their respective Goddesses without rush. His heart, however, was racing—he was eager to see how much more investment the Goddesses intended to pour in.

If they were only going to send more Holy Maidens, well, that would be rather dull.

Cote and Guinevere each took their respective positions, pulling out an array of ceremonial tools, crouching on the ground to sketch and carve an intricate Magic Array.

Once the Magic Array was completed, the two Holy Maidens knelt with reverent expressions, chanting in unison. First, they mentally linked to The Void’s projection, placing their consciousnesses there before returning it to The Void.

The Divine Nation isn’t located on the God-chosen Continent; it exists within The Void.

Wayne watched in silence, saying nothing but gaining new insights into the relationship between the Sun and Moonlight Goddesses.

Unlike other superficial alliances, these two Goddesses moved in concert, advancing and retreating together. Even their descents showed a complete lack of concern for one another. If Wayne’s guesses were accurate, the Goddesses had likely coordinated this visit before ordering their Maidens to set off for Lundan.

"So this is because of Darkness..."

"Or is it that the Nature Goddess is under greater pressure?"

Wayne murmured to himself. The tension between Light and Darkness was only one piece of the puzzle—the greatest pressure stemmed from the Nature Goddess.
