Chapter 1311: Chapter 439: How can I make Heaven a better place when I’m with you bunch of Insectoids! x4_3
No generosity in the right place, all of it damn well wasted on the Devil.
By this logic, Lar the tolerant and Milia the diligent seem to have their own issues as well.
What? Why not mention Michael the humble?
Lord Pride claimed that humility itself was arrogant. The four of them didn’t say it out loud, but deep down, they agreed wholeheartedly.
Excessive humility is arrogance. Michael has always been like this. He didn’t even need to reincarnate—he committed the sin of Pride right in Heaven.
Thinking of Milia’s diligence in public but laziness in private, Lar’s tolerance masking a nature of narrow-mindedness, spite, and envy—Hexuno felt a pang in his heart.
"What’s going on? When did Heaven become like this?"
Stuck together with you lot of insectoids, how could Heaven possibly get better! x4
"Is it possible that Heaven has always been like this?" Wayne turned back, smiling slyly at the four representing the Seven Virtues.
He was met with four cold faces, including Hexuno, all clinging to political correctness and pretending they hadn’t heard a thing.
"Hypocrisy. There’s no hope for Heaven anymore..."
Hearing Wayne’s mockery, the four Virtues flared with anger. Hexuno slammed the table, suddenly enlightened: "I understand now. I know why Father left the Saint Heir’s prophecy and why it could only be translated now."
"What do you mean?" Uriel asked.
"The Seven Virtues are sick. After losing Father, all of us fell ill."
Hexuno sighed: "We who embody virtue have all turned into the opposite of what we were meant to be. We lack guidance. Only the Saint Heir can redeem us."
"So that’s how it is..."
Urial looked somber: "You’re right. We’ve all changed. When Father was with us, we weren’t like this."
For a moment, the atmosphere grew even heavier.
"There’s no such thing as a Savior, nor is there any need for the Saint Heir. You Angels are too obsessed with your religious beliefs."
Wayne shook his head: "I’m different. In life, you can only rely on yourself. Instead of hoping for the Saint Heir, why not save yourselves?"
"Shut up, you damn—"
Uriel started shouting angrily, but halfway through, realizing Wayne’s identity, she changed her tone: "You damn Archangel Hexuno!"
Hexuno: (는_는)
Since when did the sacred name of Hexuno turn into profanity?
Still, the insult stung—and stung well. Uriel continued her tirade, pointing out that the Saint Heir grew more and more estranged from Hexuno and Michael.
"I have a rough guess about Lar’s situation. As the embodiment of tolerance, he’s fallen ill—jealous of the Saint Heir’s ascendancy to leadership upon entering Heaven, he leaked information to Pride and even provided means for Pride’s reincarnation." Uriel analyzed.
The other three Virtues nodded in agreement, finding Uriel’s statements logical and sound, mirroring their own conditions.
"What must be done now is to find the Saint Heir. Only by finding him can Heaven return to its original state, and we obtain redemption."
Uriel continued: "We must act quickly. Pride will not give up easily. I know him. With his arrogance, he will never allow himself to fail. He is surely scheming within Hell to open the Hell Gate..."
"Previously, he avoided drawing our attention, keeping things under wraps. But now that he’s exposed, he’ll only escalate his actions."
"Lundan must not become a second Hell. We have to find the Saint Heir before Pride does and stop the Hell Gate from opening!"
The three other Virtues raised no objections. With the affirmation from both Archangels, Kiraal finally learned the four core traits of the Saint Heir:
Resurrection!
Neither human nor not!
God of the Mortal Realm!
Currently in Lundan!
"Seems like it shouldn’t be too hard to find. Someone like that would stand out pretty much anywhere..."
Kiraal frowned: "Could it be that Pride hasn’t discovered him because, like the Reincarnated Angel, the Saint Heir appears ordinary before awakening, only exhibiting traits of ’neither human nor not’ and ’God of the Mortal Realm’ afterward?"
"I agree. The Saint Heir hasn’t awakened yet." Uriel and Vikul nodded in confirmation.
Seeing this, Hexuno followed suit, reluctant to reveal much about having actually found the Saint Heir. The less she said, the fewer risks she faced—outing Wayne wouldn’t end well.
"Archangel Hexuno, since my awakening, I’ve been diligently guarding against Pride."
Kiraal asked: "And you? You’ve been awake for quite some time and have stayed in Lundan consistently. Do you have any leads?"
Uriel focused closely on Hexuno, praying she hadn’t already discovered the Saint Heir.
"No leads whatsoever. As you said, before awakening, the Saint Heir is just an ordinary human. Lundan has millions of people—how could I possibly have any clues?" Hexuno responded with a pained smile and shook her head.
Don’t ask. If you ask, the answer is always ’I don’t know.’
"This makes things tricky then..."
Vikul muttered: "We’ll have to prepare for the worst—Pride opening the Hell Gate in Lundan, unleashing devastation. We’d be powerless to stop it, and the Saint Heir might die and resurrect during the event, revealing his identity to us."
Hexuno’s face turned pale.
Indeed, if the Saint Heir wasn’t removed from Lundan, the Demon King was bound to resurge. Preparing for the worst, with all Seven Demon Lords descending—not just Lundan, but all of Windsor—would be razed to the ground.
For her selfish desires, Hexuno had concealed the Saint Heir’s identity, leading to countless innocent lives being lost. Was this truly worth it?
Hexuno bit her lip tightly. After all, she was a kind Angel unwilling to witness rivers of blood running freely. She hesitated before finally speaking: "Actually..."
"Actually, your worries are unfounded!"
Uriel cut in first: "Opening the Hell Gate isn’t that easy. Even if it opens, the Demon King won’t be able to break the seal of Heaven. His power will be severely weakened, making him no match for us..."
"Opening the Hell Gate requires prolonged preparations, giving us plenty of time to reclaim Heaven’s strength. In the Mortal World, the Demon King won’t be our equal."
"..."
Hexuno opened her mouth but found Uriel’s words persuasive.
