Chapter 1285: Chapter 433: Eat when you should eat, drink when you should drink, don’t take anything to heart
"After I awakened, I saw the altar of Lord Pride beneath Lundan. He had entered the Mortal World long ago, yet he hasn’t turned it into Hell..."
"All along, I suspected that Lord Pride had another conspiracy, so I sealed myself away and pretended not to have awakened, observing and waiting in the shadows."
"Last time, when Kel separated from you, I truly sensed that aura. He called me an old friend..."
Kiraal sat in the passenger seat and recounted the intelligence he had gathered.
This intelligence had also been shared with Uriel. However, due to differing allegiances, Uriel didn’t trust him, suspecting that Kiraal was trying to muddy the waters by using Lord Pride as a scapegoat to prevent infighting between the two Archangels.
Admittedly, from Uriel’s standpoint, this was highly plausible.
First of all, Kiraal’s words were riddled with contradictions.
Lord Pride couldn’t bypass the Heaven Seal to descend directly into the Mortal World. Even if he could, what does "reincarnation" mean? Turning into a human?
Ridiculous!
Secondly, even if Lord Pride descended and reincarnated successfully, what is he waiting for? Why hasn’t he turned the Mortal World into Hell and instead done absolutely nothing?
Ridiculous x2
Lastly, according to Kiraal’s account, Lord Pride had seen Kel, Archibald, and—who else?—three Reincarnated Angels in total. Why didn’t he seize the opportunity to attack while they hadn’t awakened?
Just greeting an old friend and leaving—Is this even the Demon King? Is it just because of his Pride that he disdains striking at the weak?
Ridiculous x3
In short, Uriel didn’t believe Kiraal’s nonsense. He came to Lundan to help Michael’s bloodline descendants reclaim power, which was of utmost importance.
Uriel and Michael were steadfast allies with an excellent relationship, which also made him quite opposed to Hexuno.
If the Windsor Family continued to hold power, Uriel wouldn’t intervene. But now, Hexuno acted first, ordering Wayne to oust the Windsor Family, so Uriel had to overlook it for now—lest he complicate matters with his closest ally.
Auga was also watching closely. She was Michael’s trusted confidant.
Kiraal analyzed the situation with a bitter smile, expressing his own helplessness: The Reincarnated Angels descended to assist the Saint Heir, yet they brought Heaven’s discord into the Mortal World, risking embarrassment in front of everyone below.
Meanwhile, Hexuno explained to Wayne that Heaven consisted of four Archangels and four Angel Legions, hence divided into four factions.
As the Vice-Regent, the current leader Michael was excessively assertive, which made the less confrontational Hexuno and Lar unwilling to associate much with him.
As fellow Seraphs—why would we take orders from you? You are not the Heavenly Father! Do you truly believe you’re the boss?
Uriel and Michael were allied, teaming up to suppress Hexuno and Lar. The latter two didn’t form a coalition; one chose a cold-eyed approach, while the other opted to shut the gates and remain aloof.
Under such circumstances, the Vice-Regent was truly living up to his name, firmly securing the leadership position.
The other three angels representing the Seven Virtues—Milia, Kiraal, and Vikul—directly or indirectly participated in factional disputes amidst this backdrop of inner conflict.
Milia had a good relationship with Hexuno, often speaking in her favor; Kiraal and Vikul were close to Lar, casually aligning themselves with his laid-back stance.
The Seven Virtues were split into three segments, barely achieving a balance that ensured Heaven’s orderly stability—preventing it from descending into chaos after the Heavenly Father’s departure.
Moreover, Kiraal, Vikul, and Lar maintained their alliance not for personal reasons, but to uphold Heaven’s overall equilibrium. Lar’s non-contentious nature made their stance effortless and convenient.
"See? I told you—Heaven has factions and infighting. Last time you denied it, lying like that doesn’t make you a good angel." Wayne teased through telepathic communication.
Hexuno remained silent, having refrained from speaking in the past. Now, however, she believed the Saint Heir needed to understand it.
In addition, Heaven’s internal strife fundamentally stemmed from the absence of a leader above. Once the Saint Heir returned to Heaven, everything would naturally calm down.
"Kiraal, you just mentioned that Vikul went to find the Saint Heir?" Hexuno asked.
"Yes. Vikul was willing to trust me. He suspects Lord Pride is lurking in Lundan because of a leak in the Saint Heir’s prophecy..."
Kiraal’s face darkened: "Although the possibility of the prophecy leaking is extremely low, I really can’t think of any other explanation. Lord Pride ignoring us, his old friends, surely means he has something far more important to focus on. After much thought, it can only be the Saint Heir!"
It doesn’t matter; I’ve already located the Saint Heir!
Hexuno nodded internally. Lord Pride indeed had a way with tactics—somehow retrieving the prophecy from Heaven and somehow confirming the Saint Heir’s presence in Lundan. She mulled it over carefully, yet remained puzzled.
Fortunately, the Heavenly Father’s omniscience had veiled the Saint Heir’s nature in subtlety. At first glance, this trash can had no apparent connection to the Saint Heir, deceiving even Lord Pride’s eyes.
Upon this realization, Hexuno felt both anger and helplessness. If not for Lord Pride’s conspiracy with the Pope, she wouldn’t have made it to the Saint Heir’s side as promptly.
At the same time, she felt some relief, consoling herself that—despite some losses—finding the Saint Heir ahead of Lord Pride made every sacrifice worthwhile.
Hexuno wrestled with whether to disclose Wayne’s identity to Kiraal. After a moment of deliberation, she decided against it.
She would rather bear the stigma herself than risk even the slightest chance. Once her powers were fully restored, she would take the Saint Heir to the Papal State and, from there, step through the Gates of Heaven.
"Archangel Hexuno, your descent location was also in Lundan—you’re an Archangel and deeply understand the prophecy’s description of the Saint Heir. Do you have any leads regarding him?" Kiraal asked curiously.
