Chapter 1218: Chapter 416: The Summit Gives Rise to Hypocritical Supporters, Dusk Witnesses Devout Believers_2

Hexuno:(눈_눈)

These Holy Maidens, not a single one is particularly clever.

Great, Heaven loves a show, keep it coming.

Mona: Less talk wouldn’t hurt, even the devils in Hell would enjoy your current state.

Sukra opened her eyes, grey pupils meeting Wayne’s gaze, not simply grey, but a profound silver-grey that defied exact description, as if merging the debris of stars, twinkling with the light of distant galaxies.

Underneath those eyes, a strange power surged like an undercurrent.

Wayne fixed his gaze, with Super Vision allowing him to see deeper, within these beautiful pupils he saw strings of rule-throbbing information.

It wasn’t just information, but also a silhouette.

Sukra wasn’t certain about Wayne’s talent limit, nor if Divine Power could dwell within him, she admitted, there was an element of gamble in her actions.

To prevent a lifetime of regret, she released Divine Power bit by bit, interacting with Wayne’s gaze, rather than going all out to kill with her eyes.

Unconsciously, their faces drew closer and closer.

Close enough for Hexuno to snort.

Mona: What are you snorting at?

Hexuno: You can’t snort, so I’ll snort for you!

The undercurrent of surging power followed the eye contact, slowly invading Wayne’s eyes, his pupils dilating, revealing irises with countless minute tendrils, each curling around and swiping away any knowledge encountered.

He does not shy away from any visitor!

Confirming that Wayne is indeed the Savior appointed by the Goddesses for the Divine Nation, Sukra withheld nothing, enduring her excitement to transfer all the Divine Power housed within her pupils.

At the same time, a form not visible to the naked eye, along with the flowing knowledge, followed into Wayne’s eyes.

"Huh?!"

Wayne exclaimed in surprise, besides knowledge, Sukra had also transmitted a powerful thought.

This was a thought of such high quality that Wayne had encountered it only once before.

Dark Goddess!

The thought of the Goddess of Death resided in Sukra’s eyes, not hyperbole, but quite literally a deity dwelt within her gaze.

The Goddess of Death should be sitting up in the Divine Nation, so why would the thought of her be in the God-chosen Continent?

Wayne was secretly shocked, the situation in the Death Kingdom seemed to be more complex than Sukra had described. With a powerful enemy the Goddess of Death could not defeat, she had no choice but to descend part of her thought into the body of a Holy Maiden.

Wayne carefully sensed, worthy of thought from the Goddess of Death, a quiet and deep Death Aura, as if truly dead.

A boon given on a platter, Wayne had no reason to refuse. He dared to contaminate the Dark Goddess, so why spare the Death Goddess who was like an inflatable doll?

The tendrils of thought wrapped around her, slowly contaminating, slowly eroding, striving to reshape Death in his image in the shortest time.

The progress was slow, much slower than with the Dark Goddess.

Having never seen the full extent of the five major Goddesses, based on various indications of faith opposition, he estimated their strengths.

Nature against Death, these two Goddesses were at the top tier.

Among them, Nature edged out Death by means of secret scheming leading to the betrayal of three Subsidiary Gods and the Goddess of Death falling into slumber. She’s the leading Goddess among the five, with both strength and cunning considered superior.

Light against Darkness, and the Dark Goddess faced two on her own, placing her at the second tier.

Recently plotting against a third Subsidiary God, could be said to be half a step from Pinnacle Great Perfection. Success would put her on par with Nature and Death.

The Sun and Moonlight had been sticking together, both churches being neighbors, joining hands against Darkness while strictly guarding against Nature, their defensive strategy of only guarding without attacking was very much like Frank, firmly in the third tier.

Death was stronger than Darkness, so the invasion was slower, naturally to be expected, not surprising.

But this was too slow!

Wayne estimated, the Dark Goddess shouldn’t be so frail; the part of her thought that he contaminated likely fell into her trap, perhaps letting it be contaminated on purpose, coveting his Essence of Life.

Now that the Dark Goddess had returned to the Divine Nation, she took the corrupted thought with her, who knows what experiments she might be conducting in her little dark room!

Alright, alright, alright, you like thrills, huh? There will be a time you’ll cry.

Wayne and Sukra glared at each other, for a full half-hour.

With their noses nearly touching, breathing exchanged, each breathing through their own lungs. Wayne felt it was alright, but Sukra couldn’t take it anymore.

She was a little short of breath.

Moments later, Sukra took two steps back, her lack of oxygen making her face turn red. She sensed carefully—the power in her eyes remained, but instead of being endless as before, it was now diminishing with each use.

Baffled, she explained the situation, curious about Wayne’s condition, whether it was a success or failure.

"Definitely a success."

Wayne stated confidently. With the help of the Death Holy Maiden, the Goddess of Death’s thought was thrown into a mass of tendrils to be jostled about.

This thought was utterly lifeless, even though contaminated by him, it could not be awakened, seemingly lacking something.

Sukra’s condition was easy to explain, the continual Divine Power came from the thought of the Goddess of Death, and whenever she used her Ultimate Move to deplete her energy bar, the Goddess of Death would replenish her.

With the Goddess of Death moving house, the energy bar naturally lessened with every use.

"No big deal, I’ll fill you up."

Wayne stepped forward, and with Sukra’s cry of alarm, he cradled her face with both hands, eyes locked, infusing the surging Death Aura into the grey pupils.

Sukra’s body had been altered by the thought of the Goddess of Death, it’s hard to say about other parts, but those eyes were definitely custom-made, capable of containing Death Aura without crumbling.
