Chapter 1202: Chapter 412 Heya: You’re not pure!_2
It’s utterly annoying to look at.
Had the Devil Alliance the slightest bit of OCD, they wouldn’t let the Nature Church District Headquarters off the hook; lying in wait could very well yield a clue if one were to track it back to its source.
The prospect isn’t great, but it’s better than doing nothing.
When it comes to Hell Gate, time is of the essence. Wayne said to get moving immediately, preparing to contact Juno and meet up to inquire about information from the Reincarnated Angel.
He went out with Secretary Mona straight away, but two steps later, he found Isabella following him and said exasperatedly, "There’s no dinner party tonight; following me is pointless."
"No, the Scalpel Organization has a mission."
"What mission? Related to The Black Principle Cult?"
"Yes."
Isabella nodded, "There’s a labyrinth beneath the Paris Opera House, with a mysterious origin and rumored to be haunted by ghostly apparitions. I’m tasked with investigating this matter."
Last night the bell tower’s enigma, tonight the opera house’s phantom, this is getting too romantic.
Wayne complained inwardly, asking for the address of the opera house, planning to meet Juno there and incidentally back Isabella up.
The Opera House phantom could be a lead; Wayne didn’t want to miss out on any, hoping Mr. Phantom would turn out to be a high-ranking official of The Black Principle Cult – getting rid of him would have one of the Four Heavenly Kings or Prime Ministers come knocking.
Follow the vine to get to the Demon King’s palace.
Thinking about it made Brave Wayne quite eager to act.
————
The opera house.
A black car stopped, and a stunning figure hurried through the back door into the opera house, encountering the Barrier and sensing the presence of a peculiar labyrinth beneath.
Eerie and cramped, eerily similar to what the Reincarnated Angel has been looking for.
"The Black Principle Cult..."
Juno murmured to herself, mentally wishing for good luck.
In the day, she went shopping with the Reincarnated Angel, scouting for Devil’s minions and clues about The Black Principle Cult, to no avail. Returning home, she took a lovey-dovey bath with her fiancé, but couldn’t sleep while cuddling her fragrant fiancé in bed.
For some reason, her chest felt unbearably constricted.
She barely fell asleep when a bizarre dream startled her awake, guiding her to the opera house.
Upon finding the clue she’d searched for all day, Juno had a realization – it was her angelic lineage guiding her here.
She could make her mark today; completing this mission would solidify her ascent to Heaven!
"Eh, aren’t you what’s-his-name? Why are you here?"
A familiar voice came from behind. Juno, shocked, turned around to see Wayne, and there was Mona, dressed impeccably, with her long hair flowing, a serene smile on her face, looking graceful and composed.
Juno’s eyes lit up, and she walked over with quick, short steps: "Secretary Mona, I didn’t expect to meet you in The City of Romance; this must be destiny... Is it just me or have you become even more beautiful?"
Mona smiled slightly, not even letting out a chuckle.
Wayne raised his hand and waved it in front of Juno impatiently, "Look here, I’m asking you, why are you at the opera house?"
It was Wayne who set up Juno’s late-night dream and led her here. He didn’t want to break their current dynamic by using dreams to guide her.
Those weren’t words he could disclose overtly. Pretending ignorance, Juno turned the tables.
"I’m here to investigate The Black Principle Cult..."
Juno replied instinctively. After she finished, she realized something was amiss, and asked in confusion, "Why are you in Paris? The front-line situation isn’t looking good; that defensive line might collapse. Your identity dictates you can’t leave Windsor so easily; you better hurry back, it’s too dangerous here."
She’s still so fawning!
"I came to Paris to investigate Devils and the Naturalism Church..."
Wayne rattled off some useless chatter. Juno was easy to fool; sharp with others, but not with him. A cursory deception was all it took for her to buy it.
And indeed, Juno didn’t suspect a thing. Learning that she shared a goal with Wayne, she cheerfully extended an invitation to team up.
It was an invitation, not an application.
Juno cocked an eyebrow, proudly saying, "Join us, I can’t reveal much now, but as soon as you do, you’ll be in for a huge surprise."
"You’re talking about a Reincarnated Angel, right?"
"How did you know?"
Juno’s eyes widened, she slapped her forehead, realizing that of course, it was only natural for Wayne to know since he himself was a Reincarnated Angel.
"Why aren’t you with them?"
"Them?"
Wayne grew interested. According to Mona’s probing, today Juno had been strolling with a Reincarnated Angel who had taken on a female form after her rebirth, accompanied by her fiancé Alisa.
The beauty of Reincarnated Angels didn’t need to be spelled out; the men were tall, the women dashing, all top-notch in looks.
You can bet Juno had been flattering them all day long.
Doting on female angels by day and male devils by night, her ambition knew no bounds.
"That’s a secret I can’t tell..."
Juno whispered, "Seraphilis made it crystal clear that no one should speak of it, but since you’re also a Reincarnated Angel, if you want to know, I could arrange for us to have a meal together."
"No need for meals; I’m surrounded by several beauties already, too busy to break away. I just can’t spare any extra time," Wayne regretfully said.
"What, you’ve brought all of them over?" Juno immediately perked up.
"No, these are recent acquaintances... In terms of looks..."
Wayne thoughtfully considered, "All top-tier beauties, and the kind who are naive and haven’t seen much of the world yet; quite easy to fool."
"Ssshh!"
Juno swallowed hard, highly trusting Wayne’s taste. Just by the description, she couldn’t help but be stirred.
"Wayne, we’re all friends here, let me drive you home later."
Juno nobly offered, with no ulterior motive, of course. Just giving a friend a ride home and surely stepping in for a quick chat, perhaps over some tea.
In hopes that Wayne would bestow a "chance meeting" for her, and in turn, she would ensure one for him.
She guaranteed that with her tactic of pleasing both sides, she’d manage Wayne’s harem flawlessly, always ready for a good time. Wayne wouldn’t have to lift a finger, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
