Chapter 1187: Chapter 408 Elemental Mantra is Just a Hammer!_3
Overwhelmed by the aftermath of the battle, he crashed to the ground and shattered.
Apart from Givenchy, the Moonlight Church’s influence in the Paris District was completely eradicated.
Givenchy’s current situation was not optimistic; his muscles and blood vessels were all frozen, his body temperature was below zero, and he was coughing out red ice particles, merely surviving on the aberrancy of his flesh.
Across from him, two figures in golden and silver robes.
The figure in the golden robe sat on the church roof, legs crossed, looking down at the struggling Givenchy, and spoke with a smile: "The High Priest of the Moonlight Church is truly loyal, still unwilling to divulge who their master is. Guinevere, no need for further interrogation, grant her a quick end!"
"Cote, mind your own business!"
Both figures were female, the former’s voice was firm and powerful, the latter’s lingering and melodious, the two were complete opposites.
The silver-robed figure, named Guinevere, walked slowly towards Givenchy, her magic power calm without any fluctuations, altering reality with pure thought, spreading a chill of frost with every step.
A cold breeze brushed by, outlining her beautiful curves with the long robe.
"Givenchy, why choose betrayal when you had such a promising future? Tell me, who tempted you?"
"I will not tell..."
Givenchy’s eyes were cold and sharp, her fingers tightened, turning her icy blood into a longbow, firing arrows intertwined with blood, leaping through space to the front of the silver robe.
The arrow froze mid-air in the chill, not even grazing the silver robe’s hem, let alone inflicting any harm.
Givenchy was completely outmatched.
Her face turned an iron blue as she awaited the final judgement, suddenly a storm surged beside her, and a figure landed in front of her.
Seeing the sudden Wayne, Givenchy showed a look of admiration and respect, her frozen body creaking as she kneeled on one knee: "My master, I failed to complete the mission and have disappointed you."
"He’s here!"
The figure in the golden robe leapt down, arriving beside the silver one: "It looks like it’s him, Uri would rather die than reveal his name, didn’t expect him to deliver himself."
Wayne didn’t ask for the identities of the two immediately, his thoughts swept through Givenchy’s memories, his expression turning awkward instantly.
Not a devil, but a Holy Maiden.
The one in the golden robe is the Holy Maiden Cote from the Sun Church, and the silver-robed one is the Holy Maiden Guinevere from the Moonlight Church, both having rushed from the Church headquarters in Greece to investigate recent anomalies in the Paris District.
Unlike the Naturalism Church, the two Holy Maidens of the Sun and Moonlight Churches hold extremely high positions in their respective Churches, sometimes their authority even surpasses that of the Pope.
Also unlike the Dark Church, Anastasia holds sway in the Church due to her charismatic personality, not to mention the Divine Oracle High Priest of the Dark Church, even the heretic Wayne is willing to kneel before her.
The two Holy Maidens hold great power, not only due to their formidable strength but also related to the doctrines and power structure of their Churches, in the Sun and Moonlight Churches, a Holy Maiden is almost equivalent to a walking Goddess in the mortal world.
Thus, their status is higher than that of the Pope.
Of course, they still fall short in front of the God-chosen Knight.
Since they are one of their own, matters should be easier to discuss.
Wayne held Givenchy’s head, pure Moonlight surged into her, dispelling the negative, infusing energy, saving her while displaying his adept Moonlight Faith Magic.
"Hmm, are devils so learned these days?"
Holy Maiden Cote murmured lightly in admiration of the devil’s extensive knowledge, simultaneously belittling Moonlight Church’s Faith Magic as simple and easily mastered, hence easily grasped by a devil.
Once again, the plastic sisters.
Holy Maiden Cote, unwilling to speak more, coldly watched Wayne, seeing Givenchy groveling at his feet, her eyes brimming with murderous intent, the chill astonishing.
"This has nothing to do with you, stand aside." Wayne withdrew his hand, ending the treatment and letting Givenchy cool off.
"Master, these two are foes not friends, they have spoken ill of you, failing to protect your reputation, my crime is heinous, please allow me to join the fight." Givenchy loyally said.
"Stop stirring trouble, you’d bring up issues even if there weren’t any."
Wayne was curious as to what the two Holy Maidens said about him, but it wasn’t the time for petty concerns, it was evident that the two Holy Maidens harbored some misunderstandings, considering him a Hell Devil who polluted the headquarters of both districts.
It was indeed a coincidence, he had just dirtied his hands with Uri and Givenchy when the two Holy Maidens arrived; had he not been confident in his ability to persuade, the blame would have surely been his.
Second-hand dealings are risky, proceed with caution.
"Devil, state your name!" Cote loudly demanded.
"I am not a devil..."
"Right, you’re not a devil, you’re a Void Evil God." Cote interjected.
...
As expected of the Holy Maiden from the Sun Church, really mouthy.
Wayne rolled his eyes, thinking he must find an opportunity to shut her up.
To prevent misunderstandings from escalating and causing the two Holy Maidens injuries + exposed attires, triggering a series of troublesome issues, he straightforwardly declared: "My name is Wayne, the successor of the Sun Knight."
... x3
Not only the two Holy Maidens but even the kin Givenchy was stupefied.
"Damn devil, how dare you insult the Sun Kni..."
"That’s the truth!"
Wayne interrupted, regaining the upper hand, reaching into the Void and feeling around: "I’m well acquainted with Mr. Leo, the current Knight, and we’ve jointly opposed the Ancient God’s Kin, and I’m not unfamiliar with the Dawn Admonition, open your eyes and see clearly, this is the evidence!"
He spoke as if it were true, though Cote was skeptical, she still decided to wait and see first.
Moments later, Wayne expressionlessly withdrew his hand, without bringing out the Dawn Admonition.
"What, can’t fake it anymore?" Cote sneered.
