Chapter 1183: Chapter 407: The Cost of Using the Devil_3
"If he were my lover, I’d have everything I want, I could even pretend to be the Pope."
With these disdainful thoughts, Sang Lan suddenly realized that there was some truth to it.
She cursed herself for being lowly, thought of Wayne’s face, and immediately became abstinent, sternly warning: "I’m not lying to you, he’s the one who beat me up like this, he’s much too strong for a Legendary Mage. If you don’t want to be beaten to death, just put away the bow, let’s just talk."
Givenchy slightly turned her eyes, saw Wayne struggling in battle, and shot an Icy Cold Arrow at Sang Lan without hesitation.
Crack!
The Energy Shield in front of Sang Lan shattered upon impact, all ten shields, destroyed by one arrow.
Sang Lan was so shocked her face turned pale, hurriedly dodging the incoming arrow, and exclaimed in horror: "Givenchy, are you trying to kill me? Are you really a minion of the Devil?"
"No, no, no, I was just testing you, to see the condition of your body,"
Givenchy said with a smile: "It seems you’re not injured, you play the part well, if I do not give it my all, I’ll hardly have a chance to beat you today."
Bastard, you’re clearly trying to kill me!
Sang Lan didn’t have the power to fight a Legendary Mage, enduring the pain in her brain like needles pricking, she barely transformed into a Nature Elf, using Divine Arts to create Life Defenses.
Other than defense, there was no other way.
Givenchy narrowed her eyes slightly, a hint of coldness flashing in the depths, drawing her bow and notching an arrow, infusing her Life Force Field into the arrowhead, piercing through the Divine Arts defense, straight for Sang Lan’s heart.
The arrow passed through her body, leaving an ice-sealed cavity in Sang Lan’s chest.
While shattering the Divine Arts, it also destroyed her defensively impressive Magic Robe.
"You, you really..."
Sang Lan clutched at her chilling chest, Legendary Mage’s keen Perception allowed her to avoid the vital point at the critical moment, the arrow grazing past her heart through her chest and back, sapping away a great deal of her vitality and leaving a bone-chilling coldness, nearly taking her life.
"Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a minion of the Devil, I’m just scared. If you were putting on airs and I believed your lies, wouldn’t I lose my life?"
Givenchy said with a smile: "After all, who can guarantee that you aren’t a minion of the Devil?"
As her words fell, another arrow was drawn to full crescent, pointed directly at Sang Lan’s right eye, ready to end her life there and then.
Pop!
A hand landed on her shoulder, Givenchy’s fingertips trembled, and the Frost Cold Arrow flew past Sang Lan, landing twenty meters away in the ground.
When did that happen?
Givenchy’s eyes shrunk suddenly, her perceptive thoughts, her Life Force Field, gave no warning, and even as her eyes saw the hand on her shoulder, her thoughts remained blind, seeing nothing.
Seeing Givenchy pinned in place by Wayne, her body stiff and not daring to move, Sang Lan breathed a sigh of relief, once again, she had narrowly escaped death.
"This High Priest of the Moonlight Church, your bow and arrows remind me of an acquaintance. Out of respect for her, I don’t want to beat you up. Have some dignity, drop your mental defenses, and let me check your body," Wayne said as his fingers tightened, nearly crushing her shoulder.
As he finished speaking, a deformed object was thrown in front of Givenchy.
By its size, it should be Uri.
Givenchy weighed her options, her body bursting with cold, preparing to unleash a sweeping force...
Bang!
Wayne stood erect on the spot, while Givenchy disappeared from sight, and the Cold Moon Bow fell to the ground and shattered into ice.
Gone without a trace, stealthily disappearing from the world in the mirror and the sun, running away quickly, Sang Lan didn’t notice at all, now watching the collapsing Glacial World, she nodded in understanding, this is what it looked like for a Legendary Mage to be beaten half to death by a single punch.
She wagered that her Life Force Field wouldn’t vanish as swiftly as Givenchy’s and Uri’s.
...
The scene shifts.
Sang Lan struggled to maintain a distorted Life Force Field, lying side by side under a wilting, crooked tree with a lumpy object and a white-dressed woman whose face was indistinguishably smeared with blood.
Looking at Givenchy’s tragic state, Sang Lan felt both happy and sad.
Happy for her plastic sisters, look at that little face, all blooming.
Sadness was simpler: thinking of herself three hours ago when she too had ’bloomed.’
"Divine Oracle High Priest, when dealing with women, especially those who are generous and proper, you should consider being a bit more gentle, at least not hit the face," Sang Lan touched her face, full of resentment.
"I was already very gentle," Wayne pointed at the hefty fellow beside them.
This lump had a very anthropomorphic unorthodox shape filled with creativity, a blood-drenched example right before her eyes, Sang Lan could not argue, there was clear special treatment, he was indeed too gentle.
Wayne crouched before the two, his hands cupping two boneless faces, as his mind delved for an inspection, his expression dark and uncertain.
"Who? Who is the minion of the Devil?"
Sang Lan asked impatiently, probably having a hunch.
The plastic sisters had been murderous today, clearly intent on killing witnesses; if her guess was right, they had been controlled by the Devil.
"Both of them bear traces of the Seven Deadly Sins inside; you’re really lucky, had it not been for the good fortune of running into me, you would have ended up just like them..."
Wayne looked up at Sang Lan: "How’s that? This is the thrill of utilizing the Devil, isn’t it exciting?"
Sang Lan lowered her head, not daring to meet his gaze, whispering: "I consulted with Lady Saina, she gave me the permission before I..."
"I will deal with her severely, say it was you who reported her!"
"..."
Wayne could feel how the two bodies had been lightly altered, burying a time bomb of sin. It was unclear whether the changes were voluntary or forced; voluntary was unforgivable, but if forced... it was still necessary to attempt a rescue.
