Chapter 1181: Chapter 407: The Cost of Using the Devil

Inside the classical white office building, two High Priests have been waiting for a long time.

A man and a woman.

Just like Sang Lan, both of them appear to be around thirty, their demeanor composed, exuding the dignity of Superiors.

The two took seats at a round table.

The man is named Uri, the High Priest of the Sun Church in Paris, his strong and powerful frame bulges out his black suit, short hair trimmed neat and tidy, a face of firm resolve, his brows and features sharply defined, radiating a philosophical presence.

Over two meters tall, he’s also a giant of a man, sitting head and shoulders above ordinary people.

The woman is named Givenchy, a name with a strong Frankish vibe, the High Priestess of the Moonlight Church in Paris, her long hair gracefully composed, her beauty exquisite, a flowing robe draping her slender figure, an epitome of a quiet and elegant female.

Upon Sang Lan’s arrival, Uri spoke up: "You called us out here, yet you’re the last to arrive, what’s the meaning of this, what on earth do we have to discuss today?"

"Uri, you’re getting a little agitated."

Givenchy said with a smile, trying to smooth things over, "Sang Lan, the gentleman with you, is he related to today’s meeting? If not, please have him step aside."

In saying words that were meant to diffuse the tension, she slyly squeezed in a subtle jab.

It’s easy to imagine, Sang Lan’s sudden change of plans was displeasing to them, they’ve had a preliminary meeting and have already formed a strategic alliance; if Sang Lan doesn’t play smart, they won’t be shy to join forces and drive a hard bargain.

"He is my Secretary Officer, and he must be present."

"What happened to your previous Secretary Officer?"

"Dead."

"..."x2

It was clear as day, Sang Lan was fuming.

Uri rubbed his head, frowning: "What on earth has happened, you look... different than before today."

Givenchy nodded: "Indeed, you look somewhat different, as if you’ve become prettier."

"Because of love!" Wayne interjected.

"..."x3

Sang Lan closed her eyes expressionless, the two High Priests looked at Wayne simultaneously, unable to comprehend where a bystander found the audacity to blurt out interruptions in such an important meeting.

What rank, to not even have a seat, is this the place for you to speak?

The two High Priests were visibly displeased; poor discipline within the ranks, and Sang Lan wasn’t even disciplining him.

Quickly, the two made sense of it.

No wonder there was a change; it was all because of love!

Suddenly it all made sense! x2

Uri burst into laughter, Givenchy covered her mouth, smiling behind her hand, her eyes glinting with mockery, and she gossiped: "Sang Lan, won’t you share with your sisters, when did this happen, you’ve kept it quite a secret, I haven’t heard a peep..."

"I have to say, you two look quite matched."

"When you’re sixty, will he be in primary school?"

From the sarcastic tones, it’s obvious they’re not the closest of friends.

"Shut up!"

Sang Lan slammed her hand on the table, trembling with rage, unable to manage Wayne, she decided to focus on Givenchy and Uri, her voice cold: "I called you here because there is something very important to discuss. The intelligence is flawed, behind The Black Principle Cult is not only the ’Giant Demon’ Andrius. Those mutants were deliberately let loose to mislead us."

"..."x2

Both High Priests were taken aback.

Uri shook his head, adamant: "Impossible, the intelligence we gathered together, there couldn’t be mistakes."

Givenchy frowned: "Sang Lan, where did you get this new intelligence? This is a serious matter, be clear with your words."

"I cannot clarify, I suspect there’s a traitor among us!"

Sang Lan swept her gaze over the two: "Out of you two, one has betrayed their faith, sided with Hell and become the Devil’s pawn, leading to the Life Alliance making strategic misjudgments, allowing The Black Principle Cult to grow to its current second-generation scale in Paris."

"Sang Lan, don’t speak carelessly, this is not how you negotiate!"

"You think we are the Devil’s pawns, I think you’re the Devil’s pawn!"

The two High Priests laughed coldly, Givenchy continued: "If it’s just about this, there was no need for a meeting. We’ve already settled on how to divide our interests, those who are greedy will end up with nothing."

Saying so, they were about to leave.

Wayne swiftly stepped in front of them: "Please wait, High Priests, the negotiation isn’t over, our Sang Lan of the Moonlight Church believes that power is everything, her logic trumps both of yours, and you will agree with the outcome of the negotiation."

"Sang Lan, have you lost your mind?"

Uri paid no attention to Wayne, glaring at Sang Lan, his fists crunching.

Sang Lan’s eyelids twitched violently, just three hours ago, she was nearly killed by Wayne, having just emerged from a critical condition, she had no capability to contend with Uri and Givenchy, if it really came down to a fight, she would be dancing on the edge of death once again.

She cursed Wayne in her mind, keeping a stern face: "Whether you like it or not, or if you can bear to hear it, the facts remain as they are, until the traitor is found, no one may leave today."

"That’s not up to you..."

Uri’s eyes burst with golden light, a Life Force Field sweeping down, enveloping Wayne and Sang Lan in a dazzling Mirror World of light.

This was a fantastical world made up of mirrors, every inch of ground, every wall, and even every strand of air seemed meticulously carved from mirrors.

The sun hung in the sky, its rays reflected and refracted by countless mirrors, forming a dazzling sea of light and shadow.

In this world of mirrors, the sun’s light shone particularly bright, split into countless colors by the mirrors, beams crisscrossing, as if countless little suns were moving within the mirrors.

Spectacularly beautiful, it was hard to distinguish what was real and what was an illusion crafted by mirrors.
