Chapter 1142: Chapter 397 Mechanical Evolution_2

Enemies met without the extra glare of hatred, though both their eyes were red.

Both had seen much of the world; the past was the past, and now was now. Soskuna, under the pretext of returning home to visit relatives, sought out the Lord of Gluttony to discuss mutually beneficial topics.

The Lord of Gluttony did not entertain him, but several days later, warming up from his previous coldness, both sides sat down and reached cooperation.

The Lord of Gluttony satisfied Soskuna’s demands, carving out a territory in Hell for Soskuna, granting him the qualifications to wage wars against other Lords of Hell.

In return, Soskuna was to open the Hell Gate in Prussian Berlin.

Both sides had their own schemes, each believing they had struck a great deal.

The contract between devils was full of loopholes. Soskuna grasped these loopholes precisely, and even if he breached the contract, he would not have to pay any penalty. For the sake of keeping up appearances on both sides, part of his consciousness descended to the Mortal World and entered a Devil’s Container.

Afterward, the two Demon Kings made demands, pointing at the convoy far from the welfare institution, requiring the opening of the Hell Gate at the convoy’s destination.

Soskuna immediately realized he had been tricked. All that talk of the Hell Gate was fake. Prussia wasn’t as simple as it appeared on the surface; the two Demon Kings were using him as a pawn with a hidden agenda.

Soskuna didn’t make a fuss, curious about the reasons the Demon Kings were squatting in Prussia. Whatever could make a Demon King behave must either be an extremely precious treasure or an absolute force that could not be defied.

Stepping past the Prohibition, Soskuna was briefly shocked, then wildly ecstatic.

It was a treasure!

The Goddess had guided him to a new path to divinity!

Almost instantly, Soskuna’s ecstasy was replaced by a cold sense. The Demon Kings were not philanthropists; there was no reason they would hand him the opportunity to ascend to godhood.

This space, constructed by the Philosopher’s Stone, was very dangerous. A careless move and his consciousness could perish here.

What, just a part of his consciousness?

That changed things.

He decided to take a gamble—a bet on becoming a god!

The temptation was too great. Soskuna decided to take the plunge, his consciousness spreading out to scan the entire space while he summoned the thoughts of the Divine Nation to descend and augment his powers in the Mortal World.

Soskuna was unaware that at the moment he opened the channel to the Divine Nation’s space, a pair of dark eyes immediately watched over.

The Dark Goddess!

Every action of the creatures in the Divine Nation could not escape the Perception of the Dark Goddess Idinis. Recently, she had obtained a treasure and was very focused on her chess piece, Soskuna.

At this look, the Goddess too felt a craving.

Within this small space were three Demigods, one rival Subsidiary God of Darkness, two Demon Kings, two Angels, and...

Ah!

Noticing a figure in the bushes, Idinis closed her eyes, ready to quickly comprehend the treasure in her hand before seeking out someone to borrow some information on Mechanized Armament.

True to the one she favored, that pretty boy could dig out surprises even in a barren land like the God-chosen Continent. No one could match his luck.

The Dark Goddess waved her sleeve and departed.

She didn’t sense the presence of other deities in the confined space. The pretty boy was destined to be the final victor. When the time came, she would simply tag along and the opportunity would fall into her hands.

This was a sure bet!

Boom——

The Darkness Vortex churned, and the figure of a Giant Python spanning a kilometer coiled around the heaven and earth. Soskuna reshaped his body, transforming into a bald man in a Black Robe.

On his forehead, a tattoo of a Black Python hissed as if it were alive.

The wild Energy Vortex swept around, a dark radiance enveloping Soskuna’s body, as if draped in a layer of shimmering divine armor.

Three figures arrived riding the void; the leading Air Marshal was incredibly fast, diving down with a whoosh, and with a bang, his legs smashed into the ground, creating a deep pit.

After the clanking of metal machinery, the Air Marshal pulled his legs out of the pit and leapt out, his eyes flashing with electricity, coldly scrutinizing the intruder.

"The aura of darkness, a vessel of descent. You are not a Mage from the Mortal World. Are you from the Dark Divine Nation?"

"I come from Hell!"

Soskuna was unwilling to declare his origins, attributing the trouble to Hell instead, which is what other Descending Demigods usually do.

Thus, out of ten incidents of murder and arson, Hell Devils are blamed for nine.

Only when doing good deeds do the Descending Demigods openly admit their home and proudly accept the credit for their actions filled with positive energy.

Back to the point, surrounded by three Marshals, influenced by Mechanized Armament, expressionless and without idle talk, they prepared to capture the intruder for interrogation.

A flash of intense light burst out, as if a fiery cyclone exploded. The Air Marshal took the lead, turning into a black lightning bolt before Soskuna.

As the fist thrust down, twisting the air and bursting into a mist.

Soskuna raised his fingers, a swirl of black fog turned to light, instantly dissipating the Air Marshal’s momentum, pinning down the light and floaty fist.

On his bald head, the Black Python tattoo breathed, Soskuna sneered, "There is a very powerful force within you, no need to hide, let me see how far this path goes."

"As you wish."

The Air Marshal spoke stiffly, his chest uniform transforming into solid steel. The black ammunition chamber opened, and a bomb smashed directly onto Soskuna’s chest.

"???"

Soskuna looked baffled, clueless about what was happening.

Boom!!

An orange fireball somersaulted, a plume of explosive black cloud soared up into the air, and the shockwave blasted across the land.

Soskuna flew back, waving off the surrounding smoke, his shiny bald head covered with ash and gunpowder smoke. His Black Robe was half blasted away, exposing two sturdy, hairy legs.
