Chapter 1129: Chapter 394 Professional Team

Heya looked at the three devils in surprise. "The Walking Lust" was Wayne’s derogatory nickname for her; few knew of it, so...

Could the devil in front of her be Wayne in disguise?

Perhaps.

She couldn’t dismiss another possibility: that Wayne had actually been captured, defected to the devil’s side, and spilled all the info on her.

Wayne’s mouth curled into a mysterious smile. With things having come to this point, it was almost an explicit declaration, and presumably, Heya had recognized him by now.

For a long moment, the smile on Wayne’s lips froze, as Heya made no move, prompting him to tease, "Sis, I’ve made it pretty clear, and you still can’t recognize me. Seems like we need to reassess your IQ."

"Are you really Wayne?!" Heya was skeptical.

"Who else could it be? If it were some other devil... ugh, I mean a real devil, with your current candid disposition, the photographer and lighting crew would already be in place," Wayne said, abruptly catching himself getting too into character and quickly correcting his words.

"Boss, what do the photographer and lighting crew need to come in for?" the two secretaries asked curiously.

"To shoot a promo video, of course. It boosts Hell’s morale and shames Heaven’s face. Two birds with one stone; why wouldn’t we?" Wayne patiently explained.

"Boss, you’re so bad!"

"Do you like it?"

"We love it." Odilia nestled into Wayne’s embrace and nuzzled him.

"I love it too." Regina followed suit.

"You two are quite adorable too... stop, no more nuzzling, your horns are hurting my chest."

The three of them huddled together, their weirdness off the charts, while one of the parties involved, Heya, remained unmoved, watching coldly, firm in the angelic principle that they would not give in to devils.

Heya knew Wayne played a devil just as convincingly as a real one, but forgive her frankness; there was still a difference between acting and a real devil. And from every perspective, this devil in front of her didn’t seem to be pretending.

If it wasn’t Wayne, it was more likely someone impersonating him to extract intelligence from her.

"I give up."

Wayne pushed away the heads aimlessly nuzzling his chest and reverted to his real appearance: "Now do you believe me?"

"Unless I see your Stigmata, I won’t believe it," Heya stated calmly.

I think you are thinking about peaches!

Wayne, unwilling to display the Stigmata, pointed a finger at Heya’s forehead, and a thread of Golden Rule Holy Intent flowed into her, moistening her parched thoughts and body: "The Corruption of the Seven Deadly Sins has been sucked out by me. You will recover your strength soon. I have other matters to investigate. Try to recover slowly, don’t let anyone detect anything."

As the Holy Intent descended, it was as if parched land met sweet rain. Heya closed her eyes to savor it, and upon sensing Wayne withdrawing his hand, she opened her eyes with a look of dissatisfaction.

That’s it?

That’s all you got?

Wayne had already explained all that needed explaining and didn’t want to repeat himself. He waved his hand to disperse the Chains of the Seven Deadly Sins around Heya, who then staggered to her feet, pressed a hand to her chest, and mended her torn clothes.

For a strong being of her caliber, the only explanation for irreparable torn clothes was that her thoughts had been so depleted in battle that she had no more power to preserve her decency.

"Now do you believe ’The Walking Lust’?" Wayne retracted his gaze with regret, repeating himself, that robe really is too big.

"I believe about thirty percent."

"Thirty percent... sounds like I’m begging you on my knees to believe me."

"Sorry, devils are best at sweet-talking; you play the devil so well, I can’t tell the difference..."

"Blaming me for acting too well, huh."

"If you are Wayne, then who are these two..."

Heya frowned as she examined the two succubi, finding it hard to associate them with the names Odilia and Regina. She had met the two secretaries before and was certain these were not creatures of Hell.

Odilia and Regina reverted to their human appearances, standing one to each side of Wayne, surprising Heya greatly.

Not only was Wayne as convincing as a real devil, but the two secretaries were just as impressive, persisting in being unbelievable even before her very eyes.

Indistinguishable, utterly indistinguishable.

"So, what do you think? This is a professional team."

Wayne, with an arm around each secretary’s shoulder, raised his brow and said, "I told you back in the small chapel they would surprise you, now do you believe?"

"There are no surprises, only shocks," Heya shook her head.

"Sorry to have startled you."

"How did you do it? I can feel they are not devils, unrelated to succubi, but..." Heya was at a loss for words. If she had to say, the secretaries seemed to have stolen the Lord of Lust’s powers.

"If you can’t figure it out, then don’t. It’s a professional team’s business, you wouldn’t understand even if I told you."

Wayne skipped over the topic, and continued, "You and Dierda are lucky. I had just infiltrated successfully and was assigned to deal with you. Prussia has many secrets, confident they can control angels."

"Control angels with the Seven Deadly Sins?"

"No, Prussia isn’t keen on Hell’s powers, nor those of Heaven; otherwise you and Dierda wouldn’t be in my hands, but with higher-ranking officers." Wayne shook his head lightly.

"Human arrogance, ignorant and disrespectful."

"A captive shouldn’t talk so big. Judging by your arrogant tone, anyone would think you were the victor!"

Wayne gave Heya a look: "To respect your enemy is to respect yourself. You only see Hell, which isn’t good. Humans can be quite formidable."

Heya nodded, not arguing this time. She recalled that during the battle with the two Demon Kings, they had been wary of Prussia, unwilling to descend upon the Mortal World in their most powerful forms.

At that thought, Heya felt a shiver of fear. If Wrath and Gluttony, the two Demon Kings, brought forth more of their powers, she and Dierda wouldn’t have been so optimistic about their fate.
