Chapter 1092: Chapter 384 Can You Stomach It?_3
Soskuna.
As his consciousness gradually descended, the influence of his Life Domain on the environment became increasingly obvious. He vowed to kill Wayne, summoning a massive influx of his consciousness, nearly to the point of disregarding all consequences.
The most direct manifestation was that Cain’s body was completely corrupted, unable to revert back to a human form.
At the same time, the ’feeble’ consciousness disintegrated under the onslaught of dominant energy, bursting with a pop.
The Great Sage had become a vegetative being, his body completely possessed by Soskuna. This wasn’t his body, it was cumbersome to use, and many abilities could not be utilized. To pursue higher output, he had to summon even more consciousness to descend.
He could feel that Wayne was at his limit. Just a bit stronger, and victory would be within easy reach.
Soskuna regarded Wayne as a major enemy on his path to Becoming a God. The Dark Goddess had arranged for a rival whose ability was still above him. His only advantage lay in his head start, becoming a Demigod before Wayne. If he didn’t leverage his advantage well, once Wayne caught up, all that awaited him would be defeat.
"Roar roar roar———"
The Dark Giant roared as he moved, wielding a Thunderbolt Longspear in one hand and a Hurricane Shield in the other, his majestic body striding through the black mud.
Black lightning struck from the sky, hurricanes danced in midair, and the ground was covered with black mud—the complete Life Domain was about to take shape.
Wayne faintly smelled a crisis. Soskuna’s strength was greater than he had imagined, seemingly infinite, with no visible limit.
Merely a Demigod, just one Realm above a Legendary Mage, yet he felt the crisis of facing a deity.
With this, Soskuna was merely his consciousness descended, not even his full consciousness.
For a moment, Wayne once again regarded deities with earnest respect, and with that, the image of Subsidiary Gods in his mind also grew.
In the midst of battle, with no time for further thought, he let out a low shout, raising his head in praise, as blinding thunder and lightning gathered, and rowdy hurricanes roamed freely, stirring the space into ripple-like waves.
A destructive force converged in Wayne’s hands, thunder enveloped by hurricanes. As the concentrated winds grew tighter, the thunder plasma was compressed into a solid white orb of light. Every trace of electricity that spilled out shredded space, pulling out meandering black lines.
Sarosia swallowed silently. The horrific thunder energy was something she couldn’t achieve even at her peak, and so...
Get your brain working, quick!
Sarosia brainstormed and soon had an epiphany. All that talk of delicate manipulation of Laws was a sham.
Like a large tree, pruning off the fine branches and twigs, the ultimate truth could be explained in a sentence or two. Common sense seemed rough, but in fact, it was the most fundamental explanation of the Laws. The derived practices were sort of putting the cart before the horse. It seemed like one had grasped the true essence of the Laws, taking a step further on the foundation; however, it actually distorted the true essence.
Thunder is simply thunder, and a storm is simply a storm—they are the purest form of violence, no need for fancy attire...
Sarosia nodded silently to herself, with flashes of thunder and storm in her eyes: "Boss, I understand now!"
Below, Soskuna stopped in his tracks, surprised at the immense energy Wayne controlled, seeing the towering pile of the Power of Laws behind the rough façade.
He did not ridicule Wayne’s crude use of the Laws but was astonished at Wayne’s learning speed.
So what if it’s rough? How many people wish to be rough but can’t achieve it!
Soskuna himself couldn’t manage it. He had acquired the Laws of Thunder and Storm for some time now, worked hard on them, but managed to turn little to his use. It seemed he could destroy heaven and earth with a wave of his sleeve, but in essence, it was the doing of darkness.
This shock made Soskuna much more alert.
"Thunder doesn’t suit me. The power I should Devour is another kind..."
Soskuna looked expressionless as the storm wrapped the thunder and surged into the high sky. The swelling orb of thunder seemed like a sun, wantonly distorting space, and bursting with destructive power.
"You’ve angered me repeatedly, trying to draw my consciousness into the Mortal World... Sharing the same thought, wanting to completely eradicate your rival."
Soskuna understood the cause and effect, grateful he had come to his senses in time, or the consequences would be unthinkable.
He took a deep breath, lingeringly looked at the Divine Realm of storm and thunder he had unearthed, but it had become Wayne’s home ground, granting his opponent the power to erase him.
This place was not to be lingered in!
Soskuna made a decisive decision, his consciousness returning like a tidal wave to the Divine Nation: "A formidable opponent indeed, competent and not lacking in strategy, I almost fell for your calculation..."
"Today is your only chance to defeat me. Next time we meet, will be your end!"
Soskuna’s eyes danced red, no longer showing the essence of thunder and storm, reluctantly giving up these two Divine Powers in favor of searching for Laws more suitable for himself.
Hell!
He came from the Abyss; Hell was the ideal place for a Devourer to ascend to godhood.
"But, don’t think I’ll easily hand over these two Laws. Here’s a small gift for you that I hope you’ll appreciate..."
Soskuna’s corners of the mouth curved into a smile. His consciousness reshaped his body, transforming into a kilometer-long Black Python again.
The Black Python opened its mouth wide, spitting out an Obelisk soaked in Darkness, with thunder and storm bound by sinister chains, silent and lightless, losing their original color.
Not enough!
"Hahahaha————"
A cloud of dark fog dispersed above the Black Python’s head, within which devilish faces twisted viciously.
Soskuna unleashed his true form, his kilometer-long serpentine body rising with the black fog, mouth agape, wanting to Devour the thunder and storm in the skies in one gulp.
