Chapter 1090: Chapter 384 Can You Stomach It?
Wayne suddenly remembers his Hell alter-ego, the Demon Bat.
Born from the Altar of Pride, possessing a portion of the Seven Deadly Sins, it belongs to the relatively gifted newborn devils.
From birth to present, it’s been barely a year and a half, not even two years old; in human terms, an infant still unweaned.
The Demon Bat was taken away by the Hell Gate just after birth. As a reincarnated avatar, lacking inner thought, let alone intelligence, it doesn’t even possess basic sentience, and combined with mediocre strength...
Aside from being handsome, it’s good for nothing, just a dish on a devil’s standard dinner table in Hell.
Wayne suspects the creature is already dead, unless some she-devil overwhelmed by maternal instincts took it home to raise as a child.
"Forget it, it’s not important. It’s not like I was counting on it to be useful."
Wayne fixed his gaze on the Giant Python below; the devil’s breath was unmistakable, and he couldn’t possibly be wrong.
"Hiss, hiss, hiss————"
The Giant Python that Soskuna had transformed into raised its head with its massive gaping mouth, its sharp fangs glinting coldly, and two blood-red eyes casting a red glow into the sky like searchlights.
A segment of the Obelisk emerged from the mouth of the Black Python, covered in four-colored energy.
This Obelisk was vastly different from those in the Divine Realm; it was larger in size and contained more Information Laws, which, led by it, accelerated the weathering of the numerous Obelisks scattered across the Divine Realm’s land, with endless Information Laws dispersing between heaven and earth.
At the same time, Set’s thoughts dissipated along with the collapsing Obelisk, accompanied by flashes of lightning and thunder, as if a silent roar was furiously questioning in rage.
Using Sarosia’s mind, Wayne could guess why Set was angry; this aged deity had grown outdated, truly believing the world still honored honesty, and suffered betrayal, fuming with indignation.
Soskuna’s resurrection of Set was not to choose a powerful ally for himself, but purely to fatten him up before the kill.
As the saying goes, you are what you eat; to rise above, you must consume others!
"Boss, can he devour Information Laws?!"
Sarosia was horrified; the new enemy arranged for her by her faith was too strong; she might not be able to defeat the opponent.
"Stay here, I’ll be right back..."
Sarosia’s innocence made Wayne somewhat embarrassed, his form flashed, and he landed a hundred meters above the Black Python’s head.
Soskuna, transformed into the Black Python, held on to the Obelisk, expanding its maw to an exaggerated degree, using thought to shake the Thunderstorm, and leveraging the fierce winds and lightning to roar out loud.
Amidst heaven and earth, a majestic and resonant voice rang out, shaking the rolling landscape: "This is my power, to Devour all things, Goddess’ Subsidiary Gods can only be mine, you’ll never surpass me!"
Soskuna: Don’t talk about surpassing; if you can keep up, I’ll consider it a loss.
Wayne smirked, "I’m not blind; I can see that you indeed have the power to devour everything, including Laws. But do you have the capability to digest them?"
"That’s none of your concern!" Soskuna replied disgruntledly.
"On the contrary, it is indeed my concern."
Wayne fixed his gaze on the Obelisk held in the mouth of the Black Python. Soskuna’s devouring ability was indeed impressive, almost catching up to the Book of Greed.
But when the Book of Greed devoured, it could digest and, depending on the Laws, distinguish and light up little spheres.
Clearly, Soskuna lacked this ability. The Laws of Thunder and Storm that he devoured could not be digested, and they coalesced into the shape of an Obelisk in his stomach, then using this Obelisk to unleash the power of both Laws.
He’s practically a monk with a gallstone, no, a relic!
Soskuna’s method of devouring Laws is completely different from the Book of Greed: the latter needs not to be mentioned; it’s like a cheat, whereas the former condenses Laws inside its body, crafting Divine Artifacts, then utilizing these Divine Artifacts to wield the power of the Laws.
He could perhaps manage, through his own efforts, to transform the Laws bit by bit for his use, but definitely not as quickly as the Book of Greed.
A cheat code with a mere howl is all it takes.
The Book of Greed poked its head out.
Watching Soskuna devouring ravenously, it couldn’t join the feast, nearly dying of impatience.
Why the rush? The other side is just dishing up; it’s not too late to eat after he serves up the meal.
Wayne stood with arms crossed, calmly watching as Soskuna fortified the Obelisk, witnessing the transportation captain packing logistics, his estimation of the devil rose to another level.
His achievements today were not without the contribution of devil investors, even Archangels could be slain beneath him.
Seeing Wayne’s nonchalant stance, Soskuna was quite irritated; he displayed his strongest ability, yet the opponent was not only unresponsive but there was also a hint of scorn.
It’s rather frustrating to punch into cotton; his swagger had failed.
"You don’t need to put on a brave front; defeat is defeat, the facts won’t change because of your stubbornness." Thunder rumbled as if Wayne was conversing with the entire world.
"Since you’ve put it that way, I might as well display my ability as well," Wayne raised his arms, releasing his hold on the Book of Greed.
Instantly, a terrifying suction spread from within him.
Countless twisted thought tentacles exploded like a powder keg, everywhere they passed, they plundered indiscriminately; all Information Laws originally flowing towards Soskuna turned toward Wayne instead.
More than that, the Four Elements at the edge of the Divine Realm, also wrapped in fiery red, rushed frantically towards Wayne.
Like a large fan meeting, fearful of being a step too slow, lest their idol slipped away.
"This..."
The fierce winds ceased, and the extinguished thunder cracked only once.
Even the red light radiating from the Black Python’s eyes wasn’t as bright as before.
Strong fear arose in Soskuna’s heart; Wayne’s efficiency in plundering was faster and stronger; both were devourers, yet Wayne had not only swept his own table clean but also reached onto his dining table.
