Chapter 1041: Chapter 371: Advancing to Legendary Mage_4

Wayne perked up, actively exercising his initiative, and thought of an idea, "According to my investigation, Prussian upper echelons have developed many novel gadgets, including the Devil’s Container. Let’s have Tubie foretell that the claws of the Devil are within the Church headquarters, and have Dusa deliver a Divine Decree. The claws of the Devil have controlled The Church for a century. Don’t be too definitive; just pointing towards the Pope is enough..."

"You’re being too cautious; you could be a bit bolder."

Saina chuckled and said, "Tubie hasn’t been shy about translating the prophecies of Subsidiary Gods himself. Some prophecies came from Hundred Spirits Bird Milaial, while others he fabricated. No one but him knows the truth. As for the Holy Maiden’s divine decrees... When the Pope controlled the Holy Maiden, he wasn’t above fabricating them either."

"A bunch of Insectoids, The Church has really come to this!"

Wayne, with his hand on his heart, was indignantly aggrieved. He had thought his own schemes were audacious, but he never imagined they were just playing with leftovers from the opposition.

Compared to the high-ranking members of the Naturalism Church, those at Windsor were all upstanding and loyal.

"So, it comes down to this, either don’t offend them at all, or if you do, don’t give the Pope a chance to recover," Saina said, with a glint of coldness in her eyes.

"Gulp!"

Wayne swallowed and thought, the Glamor Lady’s charm had grown even more malevolent.

Wayne’s performance gave Saina considerable satisfaction. Keeping her sword sheathed, showing no hint of its sharpness, she squinted and said, "As per what you’ve said, Prussia’s collaboration with the Naturalism Church is very intimate, and the Pope is ready to wash his hands of it, letting Weiwen and his ilk take the blame. But what about the future of the Naturalism Church? Suddenly breaking off the partnership with Prussia, we would lose an important domain, and might even fail to maintain the beliefs of headquarters."

The Goddess didn’t care about The Church but was concerned about faith. Sudden severance of ties with Prussia would inevitably lead to retaliation, and after continuous strikes, there would surely be a massive loss of believers—a consequence not to be taken lightly.

"Prussia won’t last long. Its ambition is too great and will inevitably provoke public outrage..."

"But the other churches, seeing Naturalism Church taking the brunt, will surely opt to stand by and watch," Saina said.

"I’ll handle the Dark Church, and I can also draw in Heavenly Father’s Court. The united front of the three churches is enough to withstand the official pressure of Prussia. Before she dreams of conquering the world, she won’t dare to provoke the three," Wayne said with conviction.

"And after she conquers the world?"

"Let Prussia first clear the ’Winter is Coming’ scenario before they even talk about conquering the world!" Wayne looked towards the north; Prussia couldn’t conquer the world.

"You think so highly of those poor fellows?"

"The banner of righteousness never falls, they have faith, alright..."

Wayne murmured under his breath, and seeing Saina still unconvinced, shifted his tone, "Anna is the Holy Maiden of the Dark Church. The Dark Church Headquarters is in the Ross Federation, they will win."

"I was here first!"

Saina was greatly dissatisfied, grinding her teeth and cursing. Anastasia must have used some bewitching drug to leave Wayne so utterly spellbound.

Such a role model of purity in public, the Holy Maiden has quite the variety of tricks up her sleeve in private.

The more Saina thought about it, the angrier she got, and she doubled down to crush Wayne’s edge.

The effect was quite mediocre. As Wayne’s followers, both Saina and Anastasia had the faces of Glamor Ladies—seemingly strong at a glance, but falling apart close to the beacon of faith.

Basically, all bluster and no substance.

"Prussia does indeed warrant careful consideration. I will contact the Holy See personally..."

Wayne’s brows furrowed. As soon as the two generals returned to Berlin, he could no longer sense them.

There were two possibilities.

One was the great distance, with the Secretive Technology Development Bureau likely housing some sort of Spatial Barrier or other prohibition preventing his perception;

The other was death. If they had returned to headquarters only to be found corrupted by The Void and then instantly killed...

Wayne hoped it was the former. If it was the latter...

It wouldn’t be so easy to kill his followers, and instant death was even harder.

Wayne was immensely relieved to have shifted the blame to Weiwen. Even if they were discovered, Prussia’s retaliation would target Weiwen and not him, a mere bystander.

"When do you plan to make your move against the Pope?" Saina asked, squinting her eyes.

"The sooner the better. As soon as you, the Great Prophet, and the Holy Maiden finalize the plan, we move!" Wayne’s eyes flashed with determination, knowing that the longer they waited, the more could go wrong, and that they must strike swiftly and decisively like Thunder to sweep all before them.
