Chapter 1028: Chapter 368 I Still Like Your Rebelliousness_3
Saina succeeded!
"Impossible, just like that?"
Wayne’s thoughts entered Saina’s body and discovered that it was he who had succeeded, not Saina.
Saina’s mind and body had long since taken Wayne’s form. When she transformed into a Giant Dragon, her body strengthened by absorbing Life Energy, and she had received some of the Elemental Mantra’s information.
Now, she received even more without any signs of rejection.
Saina was no longer the Saina of the past. Her Essence of Life had changed, a Void Lifeform cloaked in Dragon Blood, walking a path utterly different from her former self in the Inverted World.
In this situation, Wayne, referencing the Inverted World’s Pope Saina, seemed somewhat unreasonable.
"It looks like I can’t become a Naturalist Knight."
Saina didn’t mind; holding the Elemental Mantra, she closed her eyes to feel its power. When she opened her eyes again, her pupils had turned into vertical dragon eyes.
Wayne, devoured by the Inverted World’s Saina, packed a massive amount of data, allowing him to glimpse the other’s Dragon Language Magic. These data were sent intact to the Outer World’s Saina, whose learning speed was incredibly fast. Holding the Elemental Mantra, she could also perform the corresponding Dragon Language Magic.
The Super Map Cannon was ready, like a mirror image!
"It’s possible, but I am not a true Naturalist Knight after all. The power of Dragon Language Magic is limited, and I also can’t transform anytime and anywhere..."
Holding the Elemental Mantra as if it were a priceless treasure, ripples of delight in her beautiful eyes, Saina wanted to keep it forever by her side.
"With the Elemental Mantra, no one dares say you’re not the Pope."
Wayne nodded and added, "Your life form has infinite possibilities. Don’t fixate on a Divine Artifact; you can go much further. Understand the information within it, and someday in the future, you will be able to use Dragon Language Magic at will without the Elemental Mantra."
Upon hearing this, Saina paused, apparently realizing he was right.
She had divined her fate on the Icebound Continent. Without encountering Wayne, her future was bright; with Wayne, it was even brighter.
"Stop overthinking. Besides visiting you, I came to regulate the Naturalism Church and want to kill Pope Ludwig. Do you have any information about him?" Wayne said, dusting off his hands.
"The Pope’s power is very strong, capable of breaking through the Demigod Realm. It’s his lust for power that made him suppress his own Cultivation..."
Saina described Ludwig as she saw him, then looking at the Elemental Mantra in her hands said, "Now it’s different, I am confident I can defeat him."
"What about Ludwig’s influence?"
"He has nurtured many loyal subordinates. Once these people became High Priests or Divine Oracle High Priests, after tasting the sweetness of power, their loyalty remained only superficial; they gradually developed their own opinions..."
"The Pope’s authority in Prussia, where the Naturalism Church Headquarters is located in Austria, is held by me and a few other Divine Oracle High Priests..."
"He’s prepared to leave the God-chosen Continent. In the last six months, he has been delegating authority; you could also say he’s muddying the waters, without designating an heir, leading to the four Divine Oracle High Priests competing for power, most likely intentionally..."
"Originally his forces, now either adopt a wait-and-see attitude or defect to the other three Divine Oracle High Priests..."
The Naturalism Church isn’t undergoing a major reshuffle yet, but has fallen into the chaos of picking sides, with each of the four Divine Oracle High Priests potentially moving up, making it hard for those below to make a choice, causing quite a headache.
This is the real do-or-die situation; one wrong move and it’s a lifetime mistake.
"Have you pulled in any allies?" Wayne asked curiously.
Saina shook her head slightly: "Knowing you don’t like it, I didn’t accept the original forces of the Pope. My allies are only reluctantly Vice Commander Gavin and the dreary Great Prophet Tubie."
Half a year had passed, and Saina’s progress as Pope hadn’t advanced.
Her two allies were not truly aligned with her.
Naturalist Knights Order’s Vice Commander Gavin didn’t like Saina; adhering to the Knight’s spirit, he was a man above petty pleasures, with noble aspirations. Saina didn’t catch his eye, his alliance was purely because Saina was with Wayne.
Tubie also, having lost two disciples he had trained for many years, the old man was in the dark, unable to find a suitable successor. He sat daily in the Prophet Hall, talking to himself. If forced to choose sides, he would only choose Saina.
With the future Naturalist Knight’s support behind her, why would anyone side with the other three Insectoids?
"In other words, your two allies are not interested in the internal politics of the Naturalism Church. In a comparison of lesser evils, the Naturalist Knight is a better investment, so they chose you," Wayne said, somewhat speechless.
Gavin, a lazy alcoholic, and Tubie, without the power to intervene in internal politics, were the same with or without them; Saina had to fight alone to become the Pope.
"Although I don’t have allies, I’ve taken control of the Holy Maiden’s forces."
"Dusa?"
Wayne recalled the siblings from Villa Number Eight; the brother Alex was an honest man, and the sister Dusa was a little schemer, if he wasn’t mistaken, the siblings came from the Frank district.
"Because she has white blood flowing in her veins, so she directly raised her hand to vote for you?"
"White blood?"
"Never mind, just talking. How did you take control of the Holy Maiden?"
"The Pope didn’t attempt to control the Holy Maiden. The Divine Oracle High Priests wouldn’t pass her up. The Holy Maiden holds significant power, and with the terms changing every twenty years without being able to exercise her own rights, she had no choice but to seek me, a fellow woman."
