"Wayne, how come William hasn’t arrived yet?"

Dreyne, along with her card-playing companions excluding the beloved and hated heir Wayne, were left with the mentor and disciple pair, Philomena and Chris.

"I’ve already called him; by my calculations, he should have arrived by now," Wayne checked his watch.

"No way, it’s been several rounds, how has he not shown up?"

"Because you lose too rapidly."

Wayne shrugged, stood up, and donned his coat from the chair, "I have to attend a meeting at the Magical Department Headquarters. I won’t be able to keep you company any longer, you can set up a new table when William arrives."

"How can you have so many meetings every day?"

"Small meetings I must attend, or I’ll be represented; major meetings I cannot miss, they can’t start without me. That’s the price of rebellion," Wayne remarked.

"Alright, alright, finish up and come back soon, a lot of people are waiting for you!" Dreyne waved her hand and heard footsteps at the door, immediately perking up.

Dreyne was curious about how Wayne and William interacted in the Outer World, and what attitude Wayne’s girlfriends had during their interactions.

The international situation was deteriorating, Windsor’s economy was entering a winter season, and the nation was comprehensively stocking up on strategic materials. The most basic necessities were not guaranteed, shifting to a ration system.

Smoked meat, eggs, sugar, butter, all had to be registered and rationed quantitatively, even clothing purchases required fabric ration stamps.

Interestingly, this policy received strong support from Windsor’s ordinary citizens because the quality of life during wartime had improved due to the rationing!

With Austin in place, the confrontational Rupert naturally stepped down, and because Winston knew silence was golden, he was successfully elected as the next Prime Minister.
