Chapter 1006: Chapter 363: Subduing Darkness and Sky
The next day at noon, Wayne left Lando Manor.
As for Black Cat Monica, Austin was at a loss, and Wayne simply spread his hands. If the issue couldn’t be dealt with, then it couldn’t be dealt with. The cat was just too enigmatic.
Its origins were unclear, its identity unknown; the only certainty was that Monica could not be replicated by mirrors, indicating at least a demigod level Essence of Life.
Wayne had considered blessing it with Evolution but feared poking a hornets’ nest and attracting even more powerful unknown beings.
On the plus side, Monica had always behaved decently. It diligently played the role of a cat, and when caught, it only used its frantic claws, never revealing any intention to harm.
The only change it caused was to the subconscious of the Lando Family members. Apart from Wayne and Austin, no one else saw anything out of the ordinary about Monica.
Take Megan, for instance. Every time Wayne and Austin discussed Monica within the Soundproof Barrier, Megan would hear but then immediately forget as soon as she turned away.
Upon leaving Lando Manor, Wayne drove to the Laboratory Base. Last night, during his all-night chat with Veronica, the noble sibling relationship had intensified, advancing to that of a prince and princess.
It occurred to him after calming the situation that he indeed had a princess, who had been left at the laboratory for a week. By now, it was almost time for spider webs to form.
Wayne pushed open the door and saw Juno relaxing in the laboratory’s outer living room, lying back on the sofa with a newspaper, dressed only in a hospital gown, with legs crossed, appearing somewhat content.
During Wayne’s absence, Mona had been delivering food and newspapers to Juno, ensuring she wouldn’t starve.
In truth, no food was needed; Juno had already been corrupted by Wayne. She didn’t suffer from hunger or fatigue.
However, Juno herself remained unaware of this, due to Wayne’s protective measures. She mistook her celestial form merely as a battle state and wrongly assumed that her human form required food and sleep.
"Oh my God, you finally showed up. I thought you had forgotten me," Juno said, welling up with tears as she stood.
Setting aside her identity as a destitute princess of a fallen nation, as a Princess Knight with the cultivation of a Golden Mage, she was a formidable figure who would never lack suitors, except when it came to Wayne.
He could summon her at his will and neglect her if she didn’t cross his mind, storing her away like a forgotten item in storage, severely trampling her self-esteem.
Was this some new kind of play?
Already acting so high and mighty just after becoming a prince, what more in the future!
Juno mocked, but Wayne didn’t respond, simply stating that he had been busy spending time with his girlfriend and couldn’t get away.
"A whole week too busy?"
"Mhm, if I hadn’t rushed the morning and the afternoon work, a week wouldn’t have been enough."
"..."
Juno looked on with envy, jealousy, and resentment. She had seen several of Wayne’s girlfriends, but she specifically remembered the photo of the Moonlight Church High Priestess, with her incredible figure, beauty, and poise.
It made her so envious!
"Wayne, dear brother, we’re all family. If you’re too busy, just ask, and your sister will help you out!"
"No need. I often tell my subordinates that as long as you can endure hardship, endless hardship awaits. I set the example. It’s always possible to endure and persevere," Wayne demurred.
"It’s because of people like you that Lundan has so many gays; you’ve ruined the social atmosphere!" Juno lamented, wishing she could take on the hardships for him.
"Don’t talk nonsense. Lundan is a mess with or without me."
"Let’s make a deal; I’m not bad-looking myself. Let me move into your place."
Juno tightened her hospital gown and posed a seductive curve with her figure. "A princess captured in defeat, a never-surrendering Female Knight, with an Angel Halo and a body that rejects men... I even have a fiancé disguised as a man. What do you think? Are you moved?"
The settings of the Queen’s family were always impressive, Queen Sophia and Juno included.
You’ve also missed the rebellious daughter setup!
Wayne rolled his eyes, ready to refuse, when suddenly an idea struck him. He stroked his chin and circled Juno critically.
"Don’t say, you do have some charm."
"No way, are you serious?" Juno looked confused.
"What, are you chickening out?"
"It’s not that I can’t..."
Now it was Juno’s turn to roll her eyes. With well-reasoned logic, she argued, "You’ve been with your girlfriends for a week; even if you had any lingering thoughts, you couldn’t suddenly be interested in me. Your words are just a pretense to reap benefits from me."
"Not at all. I am truly addicted to your beauty."
Wayne pleaded, "Even if you don’t believe me, you should at least have confidence in your own allure. You, Juno, are second to none in life!"
"Stop the nonsense. Just spit it out. Unless you’re willing to marry me and let our children become King, everything else is just business."
"I’m interested in your fiancé, Alisa. Let her come to Lundan to accompany me."
"You’re interested in Alisa’s Divine Blood?"
"Your Highness, Princess, you’re getting smarter." Wayne commended, explaining why he didn’t fancy her.
Both were clever, but Juno’s sharpness stood out—everything she endured was for a greater benefit, unlike Viley, who despite playing dumb for friends’ sakes, often genuinely was.
Juno didn’t respond, mulling over the pros and cons, then shook her head. "Alisa and I are a package deal. To get her, you must go through me. If you want her Divine Blood, you must pass this barrier."
The shop only dealt in buy-one-get-one-free transactions, no individual sales—take the whole set or leave it all.
Back and forth, the subject returned to marriage.
"Forget it; I’m not interested in your physical bodies or your fiancé’s. What I care about is the experimental results. You both have Heavenly Blood, both capable of awakening your Angel Bloodline. Call her over, and in the end, you’ll be the one benefiting," Wayne urged.
