Chapter 845: Evil God Beyond the Heavens, World-Destroying Colossal Beast (I)
In the heart of a swamp stretching tens of thousands of kilometers, blanketed by towering trees and tangled vines, four colossal beasts hovered high in the sky, over ten thousand meters above ground.
Gazing down at the black marshland shrouded in mist and reeking of decay, the Silver Colossal Dragon, its wings spanning over 1,600 meters, let out a puzzled growl. Big Horn, are you sure there’s something valuable around here?
I definitely caught the scent of something good, but now that we’re here, I can’t seem to find it... The Single-Horned Kunpeng muttered in confusion, scanning its surroundings. The thick blue horn atop its head pulsed with a faint glow, sending invisible waves across the land to sense the flow of transcendent energy.
They were more than two hundred thousand kilometers away from the battlefield where they had last fought the Beast Calamity, having crossed several hazardous zones and a collapsed void stretching for tens of thousands of kilometers. Yet it seemed their luck had run dry. Along the way, the colossal beasts had gained nothing—death hung heavy over all things, and the world was desolate.
Just then, the Golden-Blue Colossal Dragon narrowed its eyes and rumbled, The magnetic field over there is unusual. The elemental composition of the transcendent energy is strange.
Its wings spread wide, crystalline scales gleaming in brilliant hues.
Biubiubiu!
From those scales burst thousands of multicolored beams of light, erupting in all directions and blanketing a hundred-kilometer radius. Each beam held limited power—comparable to a level 7 colossal beast’s strike—but even so, the marshland below exploded on impact, the trees blasted apart.
Dozens of kilometers away, the region most heavily struck by the beams suddenly shuddered. The mist-shrouded swamp and forest illusion dissolved, revealing a pitch-black marshland stretching for dozens of kilometers.
At the center bloomed six pure white lotus-like plants, each emitting a soft, white glow that purified the surrounding foulness. Under their cleansing radiance, the black mire roiled more violently, bubbling like molten lava with countless explosive bubbles.
At the marsh’s edge, thousands of alien beings stood gathered. They resembled upright black-scaled crocodiles, clad in armor and gripping weapons. These Swamp Croc-Men stood around five meters tall, exuding auras between level 4 and level 5, with a few reaching level 7 or 8. All of them now stared upward in terror.
To these transcendent alien races, even a single nine-hundred-meter-long mythical colossal dragon was unfathomably powerful, let alone two appearing alongside a third mythical beast. What terrified them most, however, was the monstrous creature behind the trio—a black-and-red colossal beast over three thousand meters long, coiled like a mountain in the sky.
As fear gripped the Croc-Men, the Silver Dragon let out an excited roar. So it’s over there! Those white flowers actually formed a barrier of their own.
Overcome with excitement, the Silver Dragon dove from the sky, gathering a brilliant white light in its maw.
Boom!
A massive breath of icy flame, dozens of meters thick, cascaded downward. The swamp exploded as the savage cold spread outward, freezing vast tracts in an instant.
"Nurkawaka!" The Croc-Men shrieked in panic and scrambled to retreat. However, those white lotuses clearly meant a great deal to them. Even when faced with four terrifying beasts, they only retreated a kilometer before halting, gripping their weapons tightly.
Still, neither the Silver Dragon nor the Kunpeng paid them the slightest heed. One by one, the colossal beasts descended onto the frozen surface.
Boom!
As the Destructive Dragon Emperor’s massive form landed, the icy layer within a radius of over ten kilometers cracked and exploded. Shards of ice, mixed with storm winds, shot out in all directions. The distant Croc-Men screamed again, frantically dodging the raining meteoric debris.
The Dragon Emperor softly growled, Five top-level divine items. Big Horn, take two. Saixitia, Thorsafi, and Xiao Yi, you each get one.
Ao Tian, you’re not having any? The Silver Dragon asked in surprise.
The Dragon Emperor shook its head slightly. These things don’t do much for me anymore.
Having grown to the late stage of the titan level, its colossal beast body had already surpassed many ancient-titan-level creatures. The biological energy it required to evolve further was far beyond ordinary. Even consuming a top-level divine item wouldn’t help it grow a measly two centimeters—there was no point in wasting it.
Looking at the Dragon Emperor’s increasingly terrifying figure, now even larger than the Azure-White Colossal Dragon, the Silver Dragon muttered in envy, Ao Tian, you’re growing too fast. If the great Saixitia were this big, that’d be perfect.
One is enough for me, the other’s for my wife. With that, the Kunpeng opened its enormous maw, over a hundred meters wide, and chomped down excitedly on a white lotus more than ten meters across.
Boom!
The entire lotus, along with the surrounding space and its roots deep in the marsh, was devoured in a single bite.
"Ula Kara!" Over twenty kilometers away, the Swamp Croc-Men suddenly grew restless. One of them, standing over eight meters tall and radiating the aura of the beginning stage of level 9, roared furiously.
This muscular Croc-Man bellowed in rage, raising a twin-pronged weapon high overhead. As it began to chant, black light surged from its body and spread outward, forming a rune array several hundred meters wide.
Hum!
The black array connected with a powerful force, and in an instant, a mythical-level aura descended. Above the array, a towering projection of a colossal beast emerged, its black-and-gold form flickering like a phantom.
This beast was immensely powerful; though only a projection, its aura rivaled that of a late-stage mythical creature. All of the surrounding Croc-Men fell to their knees in reverent worship, eyes ablaze with fanaticism.
The creature resembled a Qilin[1], its entire body clad in black-gold scales. It deeply growled, Unknown beasts, you have trespassed into the sacred domain of Lord Kutadirei. Lay down those flowers at once. They belong to my lord. Refuse, and you shall incur his wrath.
Although the Dragon Emperor already approached the late stage of the titan level, the thousand-meter-long mythical beast’s projection didn’t show much fear; its tone remained imposing.
In response, the Dragon Emperor casually swept its tail.
Boom!
Black lightning coiled as a slash of black and red saber light, thousands of meters long, descended from the sky like a world-splitting blade. The sheer force shocked the black-gold beast.
Boom!
Heaven and earth shattered, and space fractured. Before the projection could even react, it was obliterated. The ground below tore open into massive rift valleys stretching more than a hundred kilometers.
Most of the nearby Croc-Men were annihilated by the shockwave. Only a handful in the far distance survived, flung a dozen kilometers away by the blast.
From atop a towering black mountain range stretching tens of thousands of kilometers, a black-gold colossal beast, over 1,400 meters long, let out an enraged roar. Damn it!
The pressure radiating from the beast shook the heavens. In the city built around the mountains below, hundreds of thousands of Croc-Men dropped to their knees in terror, crying out for the great god Kutaydora to stay his wrath.
Kutaydora, what’s wrong? a deep, majestic voice rumbled across the skies. Dark clouds split apart to reveal a towering mountain. Or rather, what appeared to be a mountain was, in truth, an unimaginably massive black beast.
It stood nearly twenty thousand meters tall and thirty thousand meters long—larger even than the ancient creature that had once chased the Dragon Emperor. This terrifying beast stirred the very world with each breath. Even just standing still, it exuded the dreadful authority of one who ruled an entire realm.
The black-gold beast below suppressed the violence in its gaze and bowed respectfully. An anomaly has occurred in the vast world. Dolon and the others guarding the sacred divine flowers were attacked by unknown colossal beasts. Three were mythical-level beasts, and one was at the titan level. Upon receiving Dolon’s summoning, I sent a will projection to intervene, but before I could finish warning them that the sacred flowers belonged to you, the titan destroyed my projection.
Is that so... The deep, commanding growl reverberated through the heavens as the enormous black beast finally spoke. Those divine flowers contain the law essence unique to the vast world. Once six mature and fuse into one, they can form a complete law, which would be of great use to me. And those beasts dared lay hands on what is mine? They are courting death.
The black-gold beast’s eyes gleamed with killing intent. My king, grant me two scales of principle. I shall enter the vast world immediately and eliminate those beasts.
It’s already too late. The towering black beast growled calmly. If those beasts were after the divine flowers, they likely will have consumed them and departed by the time you arrive. Now, I am on the verge of completing the final step. Even without the laws infused in the sacred flowers, it will only delay my breakthrough by a few years. Once we enter the vast world, if we encounter those beasts again, we’ll kill them as a matter of course. There is no need to waste my power of principles on this.
This monstrous creature was cautious and composed, showing no rage despite having its possessions stolen. However, within its massive black-gold eyes, like twin stars, flickered a glacial, indifferent light. Clearly, it had also developed murderous intent toward the Dragon Emperor and the others.
Yes, my king. The black-gold beast bowed respectfully, suppressing the bloodlust in its heart to charge ahead and destroy the enemy.
While the two beasts had chosen not to seek revenge immediately, however, the Dragon Emperor had no such intention of letting them go.
