Chapter 34: Arvian vs Zaryx – The Ultimate Duel-[2]

"Just give me two minutes..." Arvian muttered, staring at Zaryx’s terrifying form. This was no normal metamorphosis, he realized; the Bloody Demon King’s very presence warped reality itself.

Yet, he felt no fear. Thanks to the Rotten Heart, fear had long abandoned him.

"...."

Arvian didn’t waste a second.

’This one looks interesting...’

Zaryx was stronger than ever, but now...

’Time to upgrade my Fulgur ability...’

Arvian quickly used all his store points to strengthen his power.

[Leveling up...]

[Fulgur Spheara Lv 3 → Lv 10]

A surge of electricity exploded around him. The formerly erratic sparks became a regulated tempest, enveloping his body in blazing lightning. Power flowed through his veins, causing the air to vibrate.

"This... this is it!"

His body shook, his fists clenched, not out of fear but because of the overwhelming power he now possessed. Things were about to change on the battlefield.

Zaryx thundered in a deep voice.

"ENOUGH!"

And then—he vanished.

Arvian’s eyes darted around, his instincts screaming at him. Where—?

A shadow flickered.

BOOM!

The ground beneath Arvian was destroyed as a huge claw encased in spinning red energy fell. Lightning crackled around his body as he barely avoided it.

"Fulgur Spheara!"

Arvian’s body erupted into a living storm as electricity surged through it. He moved like a flash of light, blurring as his speed increased.

But then—

"CRIMSON HORIZON."

Zaryx just held up a finger.

The air was slashed with a thin red line. It looked harmless—until the world itself split apart.

Devastation erupted like a storm. The wave of energy cut through everything.

"GAAAHHH!!"

Arvian’s body was flung like a rag doll after being torn open. Stone shattered, realm mountains cracked, the air screamed. His body shook as he crashed into the ground. Blood pooled beneath him.

Overhead, Zaryx hovered, his hideous figure looming like a war god.

"You’re not even worth...yet." His tone reverberated, twisted with laughter.

And then, he raised his hand.

The sky turned black.

A burning red symbol appeared, swirling like a cursed vortex. Then—chains.

From above, chains screamed and bled, moving like living things and locking onto Arvian.

"Bloodbound Execution."

SHHKK!

The first chain pierced his leg.

SHHKK!

Another through his shoulder.

SHHKK! SHHKK!

More and more—until he could no longer move.

His mind blurred. Pain. So much pain. He could feel his life slipping.

This was it. He was going to die.

But then—

A heartbeat.

Not his. The Rotten Heart.

[WARNING: Host’s body is at critical levels.]

[WARNING: Activating Override.]

Red mist erupted from Arvian’s body. His wounds stopped bleeding. His flesh twisted, healed, and reshaped.

Zaryx’s eyes widened slightly. "What?"

Arvian stood.

His eyes burned red, energy rising like smoke. His body twitched, cracked, and rebuilt itself.

He let out a breath.

And then—he moved.

Faster than before. Much faster.

Zaryx grinned.

"Hah. Interesting."

The real battle had just begun.

The air boiled with energy. The ground shook beneath them.

Arvian’s new form pulsed, the red energy ripping through reality like cracks in glass.

Zaryx grinned, his monstrous teeth stretching wide.

"Now, this... is getting fun!"

He vanished.

BOOM!

Arvian barely twisted his body—Zaryx’s claw scraped past his face, cutting through the air like a blade.

Arvian retaliated. Fulgur Spheara!

Lightning roared, coating his fist as he struck forward.

CRACK!

Zaryx blocked it with one hand.

A shockwave tore through the ground, splitting the battlefield apart.

"Heh—too weak!" Zaryx twisted, his elbow slamming into Arvian’s ribs. Bones cracked.

But before Arvian could be thrown away, he grabbed Zaryx’s horns.

"NOT THIS TIME!" His rotten heart spoke.

Arvian’s energy flared, and he flipped Zaryx over his head, slamming him into the ground.

BOOOOM!

A crater formed beneath them.

Zaryx chuckled.

"That’s more like it."

His body twisted unnaturally, flipping back onto his feet as if gravity meant nothing.

And then—he spread his arms wide.

"Let me show you why they call me ’The Bloody Demon King.’

Suddenly, the battlefield changed.

The ground turned black. The sky bled.

And then, thousands of Zaryx’s appeared.

All moving at once.

"What...?!"

Every single Zaryx was real. Not clones. Not illusions. Real.

And then—

They all attacked.

Arvian vanished.

Lightning and blood collided, filling the air with explosions.

The fight turned into chaos.

Arvian dodged, countered, attacked—but for every Zaryx he struck, another slashed at him from behind.

SLASH!

A deep cut opened across his back.

BAM!

A kick sent him flying.

He landed on his knees, gasping for breath. He was losing.

His vision blurred. The Rotten Heart pulsed violently.

[WARNING: Body Limit Reached.]

Arvian gritted his teeth. No. He wasn’t done.

Zaryx laughed.

"You’re strong, but you will never be a king. You will always be lesser."

Arvian’s fist tightened.

"Shut up."

He closed his eyes.

He felt it.

Something deeper than the Rotten Heart.

A darker power.

And then—he embraced it.

BOOOOOM!

A new red lightning storm erupted from his body.

His eyes turned pitch black, the red smoke burning stronger.

His power skyrocketed.

Zaryx’s expression finally changed.

"Tch—so you weren’t at your limit?"

Arvian’s voice deepened. "No. I was just warming up."

He vanished.

And this time—Zaryx couldn’t follow him.

BAM!

A punch smashed into Zaryx’s gut.

For the first time—Zaryx was thrown back.

Arvian appeared behind him.

"Fulgur....Spheara..!"

A massive orb of red lightning formed in his palm. And then—he crushed it into Zaryx’s chest.

CRAAAAAAAAACK!

Lightning tore through Zaryx’s body. His domain dangerous form shattered.

The domain returned to normal. The ground stopped bleeding. Zaryx collapsed to one knee, coughing up black blood.

He grinned.

"Hah... You actually won."

Arvian stood above him, breathing heavily.
