Chapter 90: The Cave of Wonder (1)

Nova swallowed, feeling rather parched. "Oh... there’s not much to it..." She breathed out, eyes rolling back and closed as his teeth nipped at her tender flesh, sending sparks of heat down her spine. "We... erm... sit inside... and-"

Yoa paused, rearing back slightly. "Inside the beast? You sit inside it?" He stared off, eyes wide. It was actually adorable to see. He looked rather childlike, like a kid seeing candy for the first time.

"You make it sound magical." Nova shook her head with a soft laugh. "Believe me, this island and its people are magical. Not an aeroplane."

"Air-o-plane..." Yoa repeated the strange term. Then purred into the side of Nova’s neck, nipping and sucking, inciting a soft gasp from her. "Anything you tell me, anything to do with you, will always interest me."

His lips trailed across her jaw, his hair acting as a curtain, falling onto one of her cheeks, as his lips sought hers. A low groan rumbled from his chest as he pressed firmer into her, hands gripping her skin tightly. She could feel his arousal digging into her stomach, the cloth barely covering the size of him.

Slowly, their hips began to grind, heated breaths mingling as their tongues tangled and teeth tugged playfully at each other’s lips. Nova couldn’t help herself, chasing the thrill and the desire coiling tighter in her lower belly with every touch. Her hands gripped his hair as she kissed him like she’d die if she didn’t.

Her lips were bruising, her flesh trembling, and her muscles tightening around him. Need poured through their connection as he tried to devour everything she tried to give. Everything about Yoa was all-consuming, setting a fire burning within her and stoking it out of control.

Yoa hissed suddenly. Nova gasped, jolting back. She’d accidentally kneed him in the side that was still healing. It broke their heated moment, especially from the pain that flashed across his eyes. A pain he tried to quickly conceal, he reached out to her again, his desire evident as he nudged his hips into hers with a heated look.

Nova knew better than to continue. He might be some warrior god, built like a lumberjack on steroids times ten with amazing hair that would do well on a herbal essence advert, but she’d kneed him in his wound, and he was in pain. Guilt ricocheted through her at the reminder of how he’d been injured and by who.

Slowly, she sat back, and his hands trailed down her sides with lingering reluctance. His gaze stayed fixed on her, dark and wanting, before he let out a low, defeated breath. Wounded or not, it wasn’t just the pain that bothered him. It was being held back, unable to claim what his body ached for.

She also sensed faintly that he was holding back because of the Nokari bond, and how it would affect her. That she could not have. This wasn’t fair to him, and they’d been left alone in this cave away from the outside world for a while. The least she can do is make it a little more ’magical’ for him.

There was still that weight of guilt building on her chest, and she couldn’t quite knock it.

Nova’s eyes flicked between his, sliding her hand along his strong jawline, and nibbled on her bottom lip at the electricity sparking between their skin.

"How about... I show you how grateful I am to you?" Nova purred seductively into his ear.

Yoa’s eyes darkened at the sound of her voice, yet confused by her words. He titled his head to stare at her. "You’re very existence, breathing and embracing me is enough."

"Well... You say that now..." Nova breathed, trying to think of how to word this without ruining the moment and making him aware of what she wanted to do. "Let me just... I want to..."

Words failed her, so she decided to let her actions speak louder. Yoa frowned, confused as he watched Nova lower along his body, tracing his abdominal muscles with her lips and tongue, nipping occasionally, lowering to the V line that dipped beneath his loincloth.

Yoa’s breath hitched, muscles tensing under Nova’s touch, sparks of fire flickering along his body in the wake of her tongue. Watching her like this was like some goddess of seduction there to toy with him. "By the gods," he rasped, eyes widening. "What are you doing...?"

Yoa’s breathing grew heavy and his head tipped back, lips parting on a low groan. Nova’s lips curled as she watched this indestructible man fall apart from her touch. She also realised then that no woman had given him oral before. Satisfaction tingled lightly in her body, accompanied by guilt that he was not her first.

Those thoughts scattered when she heard his gasp, grunt and growl, eyes snapping to hers and melting her body into a puddle from one look alone. This man was so freakin’ hot. She wanted to hear more. See him fall apart completely for her. His hips moved with a beastly hunger to devour her mouth with his sheer size.

Nova’s jaw ached, but his groans, raw and barely restrained, only spurred her on. The weight of his pleasure, the earthy scent of his skin, the taste of him—it all fed her ego and desire. She moaned softly, quickening her pace, determined to take him over the edge.

Yoa’s fingers slid into her hair, threading through the strands as if grounding himself. He could not look away. His Serakai, his little mouse, was giving herself to him with no shame, no hesitation, pleasing him in such a way.

He had never known this kind of devotion. This kind of worship. His heart swelled until it felt like it might burst. It was like nothing he had ever imagined, and the pleasure threatened to tear him apart.

His chest rose and fell with laboured breaths, his body trembling from restraint. And yet, it was not just the act—it was her. The fire in her eyes, the way she gave herself so completely. It unspooled something deep inside him. Obsession. Adoration. Possession. The need to mark her, claim her, hold her in every possible way.

Watching his length disappear between her soft, plump, pink lips, was something he would never forget. Watching her stare up at him with those star-specked blue eyes, like he was everything, was almost his undoing as much as the act itself. He had been taught to please a woman, to prepare a mate to receive him, to join their bodies, but never had he heard whispers of this. Never had he known a woman would choose to wrap her lips around him, and pleasre him like a seductive goddess, not from duty, but from desire.

By the Gods....

Stars burst across his vision, and pleasure shot through him, his muscles coiling with an unrestrained intensity, his release tearing free. Yoa’s growl rolled from his chest like thunder, setting off goosebumps across her skin. The sound alone made her thighs press together, heat pooling between them, the ache worsening with every beat of her heart.

She swallowed his released, gaze locked with his, steady and unflinching, drinking in his widened gaze that darkened with primal need.

His eyes dropped to her lips, slick and swollen, as she drew away. His chest rose and fell with ragged breaths, heat still pulsing through him, his throat parched, and every nerve left tingling.

"Woman..." He whispered, voice rough with awe, his eyes drinking her in like his salvation, like she was made of starlight. His hand slid along her jaw, thumb tracing those soft, plump lips.

"I’ve fought beasts. I’ve withstood lightning. But you... you were carved by the gods to bring me to my knees. And I would fall, again and again, if it’s at your feet."

Her heart skipped a beat at the beautiful words he spoke. Yoa was such a heartthrob and an effortless poet born from the wilderness. A witty, light-hearted remark hovered on the tip of her tongue, ready to mask the flustered heat rising in her chest. But the way he looked at her, with reverence and something raw and real, stole the breath from her lungs.

She couldn’t joke it away. Not this time. Not when his words felt like a vow. And this was Yoa, not some lad in the modern world who could throw sweet words at her for superficial reasons.

Nova swallowed down that deep-rooted fear of rejection and spoke from the heart. "Then I’ll be here to catch you," she whispered, her voice soft, her fingers curling gently around his wrist, holding that intense stare with one of her own.

The aftershocks of what they just shared still pumped through Yoa’s body, he calmed his breathing as his arm curled protectively around Nova’s waist, keeping her close, unable to let her go. She rested her cheek against his shoulder, her breath warm against his skin.

A drop of water echoed from the cave’s ceiling, rippling into the pools beside them. The scent of salt, damp stone, and Yoa surrounded her.

"I want you," he murmured, voice barely audible, "in every way a man can want his Serakai."

Her heart skipped again, and she was sure if it kept skipping she would start having some serious heart problems, but is was worth it, to embrace this man that looked at her like she was his everything.

She shifted slightly to look up at him, her hand grazing the edge of the wound bandaged at his side. He flinched, just enough to remind them both of the toll his fight with Vulcan had taken.

"Not yet," she whispered, brushing her lips against his collarbone, lingering there, "when you’re healed, when you’re ready... I want all of you, too."

Yoa’s grip on her tightened. "You already have me."
