My Vampire Beloved Husband
Chapter 37: Mine All Mine

Chapter 37: Mine All Mine

Naomi’s body jerked in shock, and for a fleeting moment, she felt the stranger’s hold loosen. The punch that followed was a brutal force, sending the man crashing to the floor with a sickening thud. Blood splattered across the cold, sterile floor, droplets spraying in all directions like a twisted, grotesque painting. The impact was so violent that Naomi stumbled backward, her legs weak and unsteady beneath her.

Her heart raced as she backed away, trembling uncontrollably. Her eyes, wide with terror, scanned the hallway, struggling to make sense of what had just happened. The world still felt disjointed, like a nightmare unfolding in slow motion.

And then, through the haze of fear and confusion, Naomi saw him.

She saw the figure standing tall in the darkness, his presence commanding, fierce, and imposing. The space around her seemed to shrink in response to his power. His eyes—cold, intense, unwavering—locked onto hers. Naomi’s breath caught in her throat, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze. Her heart nearly stopped.

It was him. It was Zylan.

Her husband.

The realization hit her like a tidal wave. He was here. He had come for her.

Tears welled in her eyes. No matter how cold, rude, and indifferent her husband, Zylan, could be toward her, she knew deep down that he would never hurt her. But this was not the same man she had known. This version of Zylan was something else—dangerous, lethal, and undeniably protective.

For a heartbeat, she couldn’t move, paralyzed by both the lingering fear and the intense relief that flooded through her. Despite everything that had happened, despite the terror still gripping her heart, Naomi knew she was safe now. Zylan was here.

But the question that had been haunting her for so long still lingered in the back of her mind: What kind of man was he, really?

But at that moment, nothing else seemed to matter to Naomi. All she could think of was the desperate, overwhelming need to be close to her husband, to feel his presence, to hold him, to kiss him. She couldn’t believe what was happening. She couldn’t believe that she was actually safe now, that the terror she had just experienced had been replaced by this strange, calming sense of security.

But then, a question she had never dared to ask herself rose within her: Who is he, really?

Her eyes widened as she saw his eyes turn a blazing, blood-red—just like those monsters she had glimpsed earlier. But instead of fear, instead of recoiling from the familiar, terrifying sight, Naomi felt something else. It wasn’t fear anymore. She didn’t even feel the prickling of danger on her skin.

Instead, she wanted to hug him. She wanted to caress him, feel the warmth of his touch, the reassurance that he was here, that he was real. The truth settled heavily in her chest, and it was almost suffocating. She didn’t care anymore. None of it mattered.

Her body trembled slightly, not from the lingering fear, but from the overwhelming desire to close the gap between them. The blood splattered across the wall, a violent reminder of the chaos that had just unfolded. It was still fresh in her mind, still vivid in her vision, yet none of it mattered. She was safe. Safe in his arms.

And then she saw him step toward her, his movements deliberate and cautious. He walked as though unsure of what to expect, as if he were afraid that she would flinch, that she would run away from him. She had seen the truth now. She had seen him for who he truly was—the real Zylan.

But she didn’t care.

She didn’t care about the blood on the walls, the violence that had just occurred. She didn’t care that the reality she had known was shattered, broken, and reformed into something unrecognizable.

Her body still shook, but this time, it wasn’t from fear. It was from the relief of knowing she was safe. Safe in his presence.

Her eyes became blurry, her thoughts clouded by the overwhelming rush of emotions. She couldn’t focus, couldn’t think further, couldn’t find the words to express everything she was feeling.

Then, as if sensing her hesitation, Zylan stopped mid-step, his gaze softening, though still filled with uncertainty. He was scared. Scared that she might push him away, scared that she might run from him, just as everyone else always had. But Naomi couldn’t let that happen.

Before he could retreat any further, Naomi took a step forward, her body moving toward him almost instinctively. Her arms wrapped around his waist, pulling herself closer to him.

"I’m so, so sorry," she whispered, her voice trembling as tears welled up in her eyes. She closed her eyes as she collapsed against him, surrendering to the safety he offered. His presence was the only thing that mattered now. She was in his arms, and she was finally, truly safe.

For the first time in so long, Naomi allowed herself to feel vulnerable, to feel cared for. She didn’t need to understand everything that had happened or what would come next. She didn’t need to know the answers. All she needed was this moment, wrapped in his arms, the world outside fading away.

Zylan had expected her to pull away, maybe even run. Never in his wildest dreams did he believe that instead, she would hug him—and even apologize.

Zylan punched the wall, his annoyance growing. He couldn’t believe that in the few minutes he’d been gone, she was no longer safe. He should have stayed with her. Did this mean he couldn’t protect Naomi after all?

As the wall cracked into pieces, the imprint of Zylan’s fist remained at the center of it, a testament to the force of his strike. Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the corridor as the doctors began to arrive. They moved swiftly toward Naomi, their hands steady but cautious as they carefully tended to her. Zylan, however, knew he had to leave soon, but not before he handled the situation with the half-blood vampire still on the floor.

The vampire, though battered and broken, was not dead. Zylan had chosen to spare him—at least for now. The vampire’s eyes flickered open, pain evident in every movement, but still, he managed to stand. Zylan’s cold gaze bore into him, and the atmosphere seemed to freeze with the intensity of his presence. The kind of coldness Zylan radiated sent a shiver down the vampire’s spine, shaking him to the core.

Zylan’s voice, low and eerie, cut through the silence like a knife. "You’re lucky I’m not killing you. Not yet. But if you’re hoping for a quick end, pray that she wakes up soon. Otherwise..." His lips curled into a chilling smile, "...I’ll be sure to make you regret crossing me."

The half-blood vampire hissed in pain, his hands clutching at his side as he struggled to stay on his feet. But Zylan was relentless. He reached out, his fingers like steel claws, and wrapped them around the vampire’s neck, tightening with a cruel force. The vampire gasped, his breath coming in shallow, panicked gulps, but Zylan didn’t give him a chance to speak.

"Hope she wakes up soon," Zylan repeated in a voice that sent terror through the vampire’s veins.

Without warning, Zylan hurled him across the room. The impact of his back hitting the wall was deafening, a sickening crash that seemed to rattle the very foundation of the building. The half-blood vampire slumped to the ground, barely conscious, his eyes wide with fear. Zylan didn’t flinch, his expression unreadable, cold as ice. He stood over him for a moment longer, watching the vampire struggle to remain conscious.

Before anyone could process what was happening, Zylan’s voice broke through the tense silence, icy and commanding. "Take him to my special inn."

One of his men stiffened, his eyes widening in dread. The word special never boded well. It meant that Zylan himself would handle the punishment. Normally, he left the dirty work to his men, but when he chose to use that word, it meant something far worse. Zylan’s coldness was well known, but when he was personally involved in the matter... it meant unimaginable pain.

The half-blood vampire on the ground, gasping in pain, had unknowingly signed his death warrant. His fate was sealed the moment Zylan’s voice had turned so chilling. He wasn’t going to die quickly—no, Zylan would make sure of that.

Zylan didn’t allow his thoughts to wander too much as he turned away. His steps were measured, deliberate. Naomi. His wife. She still had no idea about what he was. A vampire—the truth that sat like a weight on his chest. Could she ever understand? Would she ever forgive him when the time came for the truth to be revealed.

For an elite pure-blood vampire like Zylan, associating with a half-blood was beneath him—an unnecessary distraction. But this one, this particular vampire, had caught his attention. There was something about him, something intriguing, that made Zylan consider a different course of action.

Zylan’s eyes narrowed as he studied the vampire. Whoever touched Naomi touched him. That was a rule he had made clear long ago, and it applied to everyone, whether human or vampire. But there was something in this half-blood’s presence that stirred his curiosity. Perhaps he could be useful, or perhaps he would become something else entirely. Something... interesting.

A slow, almost predatory smile crept onto Zylan’s lips as he thought about the potential. The half-blood could serve as an experiment—one of many to test the limits of his power and control. To see just how far Naomi’s connection to him could reach. The idea of turning the half-blood into one of his little "projects" was a temptation he could not ignore.

As he stood over the vampire, Zylan felt the weight of Naomi’s scent in the air, still lingering from their brief encounter. The sweetness of it clung to the room, wrapped around him like a drug, filling his senses and heightening the almost primal need to protect her. His eyes flickered for a moment, a mixture of black and red swirling within them. The redness began to subside slowly, but part of it remained—lingering like a warning.

With a quiet murmur, his voice deep and filled with an undeniable possessiveness, Zylan’s words cut through the tension in the room.

"She is mine. All mine."
