315: Chapter 315: Relying on Seniority to Throw One’s Weight Around!
Everything was in progress, and Su Xuan guessed that there still might be someone coming to the hospital to assassinate Yan Fangfei.
After all, if it weren’t for his acupuncture technique, Yan Fangfei would probably have become a vegetable by now, and even lying in the hospital, she surely wouldn’t be targeted for assassination.
After chatting with Yan Fangfei, she looked at Su Xuan.
“Su Xuan, can you do me a favor?” Yan Fangfei asked, her face flushed and her big eyes batting at Su Xuan.
Su Xuan sat by the hospital bed, looking at Yan Fangfei.
“Wife, if you have something to say, just tell me, why are you being shy!”
Yan Fangfei nodded her small head.
“I feel like my period’s started, could you go buy me some sanitary pads?”
“Oh, I thought it was something serious.
Don’t worry, leave it to me!”
After saying that, Su Xuan left the ward.
Around the ward, Cao Xiong had already arranged for several people to disguise themselves, waiting for the assassin who would come again for Yan Fangfei.
Su Xuan found Cao Xiong.
“I need to step out for a bit.
You all stay focused and don’t let your guard down!”
“Boss, don’t worry, we won’t let a fly get close to the sister-in-law!” Cao Xiong patted his chest as he assuredly said.
After giving instructions, Su Xuan left the hospital; after all, sending the underlings to buy sanitary pads seemed somewhat inappropriate upon further consideration.
Leaving the hospital, there was a bus stop nearby.
For buying sanitary pads, Su Xuan had already looked around, guessing they’d only be available in a supermarket.
Having made up his mind, Su Xuan arrived at the bus stop, waiting for the bus!
Out of boredom, he took out his phone and sat playing with it!
While playing with his phone, he waited for the arrival of the bus!
Suddenly, a surge of loud commotion caught Su Xuan’s attention!
“Catch the thief, catch the thief, somebody help me!”
A voice echoed above the bus stop!
Su Xuan lifted his gaze and saw, at the side of the bus stop, a rather disheveled girl clinging desperately to her bag, her face flushed red, continuously shouting, looking like she was about to cry.
Her black purse was being pulled at by a rugged-looking man.
The man was seated on an electric scooter, controlled by another man!
Three words sprung to Su Xuan’s mind: purse-snatching thieves!
Without any hesitation, as everyone else around, old and young, men and women alike, were still watching as if it were a show, Su Xuan had already reached behind the girl.
Just as her purse was about to be pulled away by the man, Su Xuan grabbed the bag and yanked it back with a surge of tremendous power!
The man was caught off-guard, and the massive force on the bag pulled him, dragging him straight off the scooter and onto the ground, face-first, as the scooter toppled over!
The purse was successfully retrieved, and due to inertia, the girl nearly fell down herself, but Su Xuan stepped in and caught her by her slender waist with both hands.
Her retreating legs bumped into Su Xuan’s body, stopping her from falling backward and stabilizing her!
The girl looked at Su Xuan with grateful eyes!
“Thank you, thank you!”
Su Xuan gave a slight smile: “Don’t mention it!”
At that moment, the two men on the ground got up, glaring at Su Xuan with vicious eyes!
“You little brat, dare to meddle in our business.
I’m going to show you what cruelty is today!”
The rugged man roared and clenched his fist, aiming a punch at Su Xuan!
Su Xuan’s expression remained calm as he scoffed and raised an eyebrow!
“Not even worthy to be called amateur Kung Fu, you still try to act like thieves, so brazen in broad daylight.
Today I’ll show you what true cruelty is!”
Watching the fist coming at him, Su Xuan stepped to the side to dodge!
In the next instant, Su Xuan’s hand shot out like lightning, grabbing the man’s ear.
Under the powerful grip, the man almost cried out in pain…
Meanwhile…
Su Xuan’s intervention was as swift as lightning; the rugged man didn’t even have time to react before his ear was in Su Xuan’s clutches!
Su Xuan didn’t care if the man felt pain and yanked him over directly!
“A grown man with hands and feet, and the strength to work, yet you resort to snatching a girl’s purse.
Aren’t you ashamed!”
“You little punk, mind your own business or you’re going to regret it!” the man said with a dark face, his voice full of threat!
Su Xuan laughed: “It doesn’t matter.
If I have to, then I will, my pockets are big enough to handle it!”
Su Xuan’s response left everyone around completely dumbfounded, and the thieves even more so!
Seeing his partner treated this way by Su Xuan, the other thief grabbed a wrench from the scooter and charged towards Su Xuan.
“You brat, you’re going to regret this today!”
The wrench came down straight at Su Xuan!
Su Xuan sneered and grabbed the wrench in midair, intercepting it effortlessly as it flew at high speed.
The girl who was being robbed turned pale with fear for Su Xuan, worried that if he were to take a hit from that wrench, blood and injuries would be inevitable!
Su Xuan’s hand firmly grasped the man’s arm, and the next instant, he raised his eyebrows and delivered a kick straight out!
His foot landed squarely on the man’s abdomen, causing intense pain that made the man kneel on the ground, red-faced as if he were a boiled shrimp!
“Looking for death!”
Su Xuan had a deep disdain for such petty thieves and, after landing several more powerful punches, the rugged man begged for mercy, almost calling Su Xuan “Dad”!
The other one, having received a kick from Su Xuan, was already half dead.
Su Xuan glanced back at the girl whose face was still somewhat pale, and gave a reassuring smile, “It’s over now!”
“Thank you!”
Before long, two police officers arrived and took the two thieves away.
When the bus arrived at the station, Su Xuan got on as if nothing had happened.
The girl followed him onto the bus.
There were plenty of empty seats in the back, and Su Xuan chose one by the window, sitting down and looking outside.
A delicate fragrance wafted into Su Xuan’s nose, and when he turned his head, he saw the girl who had just been robbed.
“What a coincidence, you’re taking this bus too!”
The girl’s cheeks flushed slightly as she nodded at Su Xuan, “I take this bus every day to attend Qingshan Middle School, so I have to ride this one!” she slowly added.
Hearing this, Su Xuan nodded slightly.
“I see!”
“My name is Wen Xuan, thank you so much for what you did just now!” Wen Xuan said, taking the initiative.
“No trouble at all, just lending a hand!” Su Xuan replied casually, without revealing his own name.
“Even though it was just lending a hand, you really saved me during my toughest moment.
With so many people around, nobody was willing to help.
It just goes to show how indifferent people have become these days!” Wen Xuan said calmly, but it was clear she had already seen through the cold realities of society at a young age.
Su Xuan gave her a second look, intrigued by the young girl who seemed much wiser than her student status would suggest.
A student so perceptive of the world’s many colors, more mature and less naive—it truly surprised Su Xuan!
For understanding such truths only comes with real-world experiences and enlightenment.
There are some things you can’t learn from books, only from experiences and encounters can you truly grow.
Afterward, the two began to talk more on the bus, finding they got along quite well, because Su Xuan felt that Wen Xuan before him was not just a simple girl but more like a little woman with a story, as she possessed a maturity beyond her years.
Soon the bus reached a stop, where five or six elderly people boarded.
The other five elderly passengers found seats, leaving only the last old lady standing, glancing at Wen Xuan expectantly.
Wen Xuan glanced back at the old woman but remained seated without showing any intention to give up her seat.
Su Xuan noticed this scene and said nothing, knowing that while giving up one’s seat was a virtue, not doing so didn’t necessarily imply any wrongdoing.
Seeing that Wen Xuan had looked at her but remained seated, the old woman’s expression turned gloomy, and she said in a harsh voice, “What are schools teaching these days, the traditional virtues of respecting the old and loving the young seem lost.
Young people don’t even give up their seats for the elderly!”
Upon hearing this, it was clear she was targeting Wen Xuan.
Wen Xuan blinked in mild surprise but continued to ignore the unreasonable demands of the old woman, chatting with Su Xuan instead.
The old woman, feeling ignored, became even more irritated, glaring at Wen Xuan.
“Could you please give up your seat!” she demanded directly of Wen Xuan.
Wen Xuan turned her head, glanced at the old woman, and said, “I’m sorry, I can’t give up my seat.”
Su Xuan watched silently from the side.
The old woman, who appeared to be just over sixty and carried nothing burdensome, seemed quite capable of standing.
On hearing Wen Xuan’s refusal, several other elderly people spoke up.
“Young girl, you should give up your seat to the elderly.
Didn’t your teachers teach you that?” one of the elderly passengers remarked.
“Indeed, why aren’t you giving up your seat yet?”
Four or five elderly people joined the chorus, turning Wen Xuan’s cheeks a rosy color as the whole bus seemed to be watching her.
“I’m sorry, but it’s not convenient for me!” she replied.
“You look perfectly able-bodied; how could it be inconvenient?
Get up quickly!” the old woman standing in front of Wen Xuan said, reaching to pull her from the seat.
Su Xuan was stunned by the display.
Was the bus being run by the elderly?
The old woman’s words were a clear display of what is known as “playing the old card.”
