Chapter 1349: Chapter 1350: Dean Fang Wants to Go on a Blind Date
Xiao Chen finished speaking and turned to leave.
"Stop!"
Yue Shengnan called out to him, directing her subordinates to search for evidence: "You haven’t explained yourself clearly yet; you can’t leave!"
Xiao Chen was about to speak.
That group of people suddenly charged at Yue Shengnan: "So what if it’s Yama Hall? What can a little girl do to us? Take her out!"
Apparently, they knew that falling into Yama Hall’s hands would spell trouble.
Thus, they resolved to eliminate both Yue Shengnan and Xiao Chen, ensuring no witnesses to what had happened here.
Xiao Chen sighed, thinking these idiots were truly hopeless. Forget him; Yue Shengnan was an Overlord Level expert. Although she had just reached Entry Level, she was not someone any random Agou could deal with.
As expected, the people Yue Shengnan had brought didn’t even need to act. She alone knocked down over a hundred attackers in mere seconds.
"No more fighting, no more fighting! We surrender!"
They cried out in pain, utterly miserable.
"Do you know what it means to attack Yama Hall?"
Yue Shengnan sneered coldly. She had been fretting about lacking evidence to bring these people down, but they had delivered themselves right to her doorstep.
Xiao Chen clapped his hands and said, "I didn’t expect someone your age to have such decent skills, but don’t let Overlord Level power make you think you’re Invincible.
If you keep charging ahead recklessly like this, you’ll run into trouble sooner or later.
Alright, I really need to go now. If I don’t leave, my wife will start worrying!"
As he lifted his foot to get into his car, a figure suddenly appeared in his path.
Xiao Chen’s lips curved into a faint smile, and he struck without warning.
Yue Shengnan had no idea that this man was so powerful; she couldn’t even react before Xiao Chen twisted her arms and pinned her against the car.
"Listen, Lady Yama. With your skill level, I could easily kill you in seconds. But I’m a law-abiding citizen, so I won’t bother doing such a thing.
I hope you don’t cause me any trouble in the future. Otherwise, I won’t hold back!"
Xiao Chen didn’t show an ounce of mercy and casually tossed Yue Shengnan aside before getting in his car and driving away.
He did this purely to teach her a lesson.
While he saw great potential in Yue Shengnan’s future, he didn’t want this woman to lose her life due to her recklessness.
The Capital City and its surrounding areas were filled with experts; a single misstep could cost her her life, which made it extremely dangerous.
If she didn’t experience some setbacks, she wouldn’t understand the concept of fear.
As she watched Xiao Chen’s car disappear, Yue Shengnan’s eyes welled with tears of frustration.
She had practiced martial arts with her grandfather since childhood and had never faced defeat since joining the workforce, let alone felt such humiliation.
"Xiao Chen, just who are you? I will definitely find out!"
She gritted her teeth, wiped away her tears, and turned around to see her team loading the collected evidence onto the vehicle.
The next morning, it happened to be the weekend, so Xiao Chen didn’t need to take leave or skip work.
Mirodi and Li Bing came to his house for a lavish breakfast, chatting and laughing for quite a while.
Xiao Chen privately gave them some advice on music-related matters.
Both ended up gaining a great deal and left in high spirits.
"Husband, why do I feel like something seems off? Mirodi, the master musician, and Li Bing, the renowned artist, both seem to admire you a lot?"
Jiang Meng couldn’t help but ask.
Flora felt the same way.
"Of course! Didn’t I tell you that I’m Mirodi’s teacher?"
Xiao Chen casually replied.
"Nonsense!"
Flora blurted out.
"If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do about it!"
Xiao Chen shrugged, wondering why no one ever seemed to believe him.
At that moment, Jiang Meng’s phone rang.
"What? Where did this news come from?"
Jiang Meng’s expression turned sour.
Although yesterday’s issues had been resolved, today, many newspapers in the Capital City were still publishing negative news about her.
Even though it was mostly baseless speculation, it still needed attention.
Some foreign media had even joined in, exaggerating and spreading rumors to replace facts, filled with malicious intent.
"Alright, I’ll head to the office right away."
Jiang Meng felt that she had to address this. Despite Xinmeng Group’s excellent public relations team, she still felt uneasy.
"Honey, need my help?"
Xiao Chen asked.
"Right, husband. Can you check out the orphanage? I heard it’s already under construction. Make sure everything is supervised properly," Jiang Meng said.
"Alright then!"
And so, the couple parted ways—Jiang Meng went to the company, and Xiao Chen headed to the orphanage. As for Flora, she mentioned other plans and left on her own.
Back at the office, Secretary Jin rushed up with a stack of documents, saying, "Chairwoman, the situation is looking grim.
The domestic market hasn’t been too affected yet, but several foreign companies have already announced that they will no longer cooperate with us.
Some of those who were cooperating have even torn up contracts, refusing to pay penalties. These people are absolutely shameless!"
"They think they can bully us because we lack international backing?"
Jiang Meng’s face darkened. In her naïve younger years, she had believed foreign businessmen respected contracts, but her experience in commerce had since taught her otherwise.
They were no better—when it came to deceit and shamelessness, some foreign companies were even worse.
Meanwhile, Xiao Chen had already arrived at the orphanage.
Zhang Qi was currently in the orphanage, teaching the children martial arts.
This was at Xiao Chen’s suggestion.
He wanted these kids to be able to protect themselves.
Nearby, a training center for Tianxing Company’s personnel was under construction. Even if Tiangang and Dishasha left someday, the facility could be used to train security staff for Tianxing Company.
Adjacent to that, a kindergarten and elementary school were also being built.
All these projects were funded by Xiao Chen himself. He didn’t care about money; he cared about using it to create happiness.
Doing these things brought him joy.
"Dean Fang!"
Xiao Chen smiled at Fang Yi as she approached. "Have you encountered any problems lately?"
"No, thank you so much, Mr. Xiao. If it weren’t for you, I would’ve been worrying myself grey with stress these past few days!"
Fang Yi smiled. "Mr. Xiao, I was wondering if you could help me with something today?"
"What is it? Just say the word," Xiao Chen replied.
"It’s like this—they’ve arranged another blind date for me at home, and I’d like to ask you to pretend to be my boyfriend to get me out of it," Fang Yi explained.
"Wouldn’t that be inappropriate?"
Xiao Chen frowned. If Jiang Meng found out about this, she might not say anything outright but would surely feel uncomfortable inside.
"Then how about pretending to be my younger brother? Would that work?"
Fang Yi suggested.
"That’s doable." Xiao Chen nodded.
"Perfect! The appointment’s in an hour. Let’s get ready and head out. The deputy dean will keep an eye on things here.
Besides, you’ve got your men around!" Fang Yi said with a smile.
Xiao Chen nodded, and Fang Yi took the time to carefully dress up before leaving in Xiao Chen’s futuristic car.
Xiao Chen found it odd—if she wasn’t interested in the blind date person, why bother dressing up? Was she trying to impress someone?
But this wasn’t his concern, so he didn’t overthink it. He just focused on swiftly dropping her off.
Fang Yi was a successful woman, so her blind date was likely not too shabby either.
