Chapter 956: Chapter 775: Time Capsule, A Letter Left by an Elder Brother?!_2
There was nothing else to it; just because the surname Zhang, that during the third and fourth major eras, in the age when the Dao Court pressed down upon the multi-heavens, represented too many things!
Any place related to the high-level members of the Dao Court inevitably involved people with the surname ’Zhang’.
However, on the flip side, not everyone with the surname Zhang was necessarily high-level.
Even so, if this place really was the Zhang Family’s territory, along with the various traces from before...
At this thought, the group couldn’t help but look forward to the treasures they might find in this mysterious location.
Wang Zijia shrugged his shoulders and didn’t respond to Zhang Junyong’s subconscious words.
He stepped into the Ancestral Hall, and right at the entrance was the Great Hall of Ancestry. However, it appeared dilapidated and ruined, with decorations and tables of pure White Jade all broken and scattered on the ground.
Not a single intact Jade Plaque could be seen.
Zhang Junyong led the others to the back of the Ancestral Hall, to a place resembling a forbidden area.
Partially broken runes were still operating here, with a huge, tattered Spherical light curtain enveloping the entire backyard.
Through the torn light shield, one could vaguely see some kind of massive structure in the backyard.
Only after crossing the exceptionally damaged Energy Barrier, full of holes, did Wang Zijia discover that what was thought to be a backyard was actually a Palace.
In a White Jade Square of moderate size, a huge Triangular Building with a strange shape stood tall.
The Rooftop of the building was extremely tall, and although the main body of rooms below was also large, it seemed odd in comparison with the towering peak above.
Wang Zijia always felt something was strange but couldn’t quite put his finger on it at the time.
It wasn’t until Zhang Junyong led them to a Square in front of the building, where he opened an entrance that led underground, and they descended into the depths.
Below them was a hollow space, with a Jade Staircase hanging in midair as if standing in the void, spiraling down around a Jade Building.
This building was indeed the lower part of that Triangular Building.
It was at this point that Wang Zijia realized what was so strange.
This wasn’t any kind of Palace; it was an exceptionally tall Nine-storey White Jade Pagoda!
It was just that, while the Pagoda should have nine layers, only the very top layer and the tip were exposed above the Jade Square, making it appear so peculiar from the Square.
...
Amidst their thoughts, everyone had already passed through the suspended Jade Staircase to reach the bottom.
The immense Underground Space was originally supposed to be a hemispherical chamber made of jade.
A nine-layered, giant Tower stood like a pillar at the center of the hemispherical space; with its ninth layer and peak protruding upward, it made the whole Pagoda structure seem like a bizarre Jade Column supporting the Dome itself.
Besides that, the entire hemispherical space only had a circle of Jade Staircases, suspended in the void, winding downward around it.
The Jade Ceiling above should make up the part of the Jade Stone Square on the surface.
It was unclear whether it was due to superb translucency or simply because the jade was very thin, but the light scattered from the Square above, passing through the jade, faintly penetrated downward, giving the entire space a slightly hazy appearance.
Below the Dome was a huge Square, densely covered in Runes, which still emitted a rich radiance to this day.
And around the Pagoda, there was also a faint flow of Spiritual Light, obviously not an ordinary object.
No wonder the group held it in such high regard.
This place was clearly the Zhang Family’s vital treasury!
Zhang Junyong and the others led Wang Zijia and their group to the center of the Dome space, in front of the main gate at the bottom of the Pagoda, and said, "This is it!"
The gate was somewhat peculiar, or perhaps calling it a gate wasn’t quite accurate.
For the Pagoda had no door, only a rectangular area with twenty-something square gaps where something should have been affixed.
In one corner, there were several jade square slices piled up, seemingly ready to be attached.
Besides that, there was no other decoration, not even a Plaque.
Wang Zijia waved his hand, and the pile of Jade Stones floated up, with each squarely cut Jade Stone bearing a Chinese character.
’For’, ’Heaven’, ’Continue’, ’Peace’ ...
Clearly, these square jade slices were the keys to opening the Pagoda, needing to be placed in the correct sequence.
What dumbstruck Wang Zijia was that these were actually in simplified characters!
In all the years he had encountered Chinese characters in relics and various Information Libraries, most were in Small Seal script, with occasional traditional characters!
And simplified characters, these he was seeing for the first time!
This familiar sight caused Wang Zijia’s pupils to dilate slightly, and he became somewhat dazed.
"These pieces should be the key to opening the door. If we’re not wrong, they likely form an ancient incantation or something of the sort. There are a total of twenty-two pieces."
"But we have no understanding of ancient knowledge, and there are only nine attempts allowed. We’ve already tried six times, and not knowing what might happen if we fail, we dare not experiment further."
"We previously sought the help of Martial Uncle Li Xunbo who, after confirming, said that there was almost no hope of forcibly opening it, so we can only attempt to decipher it."
"But Tao Literature from the Third Epoch was deliberately erased by someone, and till today, very few people are fluent in it. Moreover, this one is obviously a variant within Tao Literature, not the common type that is popular, so we had no choice but to ask you all for help."
As Zhang Junyong explained, Wang Zijia had already levitated all twenty-two jade pieces, suspending them in the air.
Each Jade Stone bore a Chinese character, a simplified Hanzi!
This left Wang Zijia entranced for a moment!
