Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Someone’s Coming From Above
"I don’t know either. It suddenly came just now, there were no notifications in advance." An Xingsheng was clearly a bit flustered at that moment.
Wang Zijia furrowed his brows, raised his head and nodded at the crowd at the back of the classroom as a greeting.
Then, after a moment of hesitation, as usual, he took out a lunchbox and said, "You’re in luck today, my little cook has developed a new dish."
The expressions of the junior brothers down below contorted, while the newly minted junior brothers appeared a bit curious.
A number of the big shots at the back of the lecture hall began to show interest. Clearly those who were here had heard of Wang Zijia and his peculiar habit of feeding his disciples "dark cuisine".
Wang Zijia waved his hand and gave each disciple a piece of dried fish that smelled ten times stronger than canned fish. The lecture hall was instantly filled with a foul smell.
Even though they were prepared, the junior brothers who had been trained still looked somewhat uncomfortable.
At the back of the classroom, the expressions of some big shots looked a bit awkward.
"Give me a piece," the master of Fu Tower, the leader of the three Great Cultivators, suddenly said.
Wang Zijia paused and took another piece out of his Storage Bag and tossed it over to the Tower Master.
He was not worried at all. He had already completed the demon seeding of ten disciples. Today’s cooking was just habitual for him, simply to maintain his quirky persona.
Although he had prepared some ’special’ pieces in his pocket for unexpected situations, such as someone auditing the class, there’s no way he would take them out under these circumstances.
After receiving the dried fish, Tower Master Bai took a whiff, then took a careful bite.
Immediately his face stiffened for a moment, and he silently put away the remaining portion, as if nothing had happened.
Seeing this, the teaching brothers who came to audit the class decided against trying out the dish. In front of them, the disciples either swallowed the dried fish in one gulp or chewed with contorted faces.
The entire classroom was filled with an insufferable stench, a very pure smell of foulness, with no hint of sourness or decay.
"Alright, let’s begin today’s class. I’ve been teaching for almost half a year now. Let’s go over everything from the beginning..." Wang Zijia looked around at everyone and began his lecture.
With Wang Zijia’s engaging teaching style, the disciples listening below were more absorbed in the lecture.
The big shots at the back, who were initially unconcerned, became increasingly attentive as Wang Zijia’s explanations became more in-depth and systematic.
In the middle of the lecture, Wang Zijia subconsciously paused and looked into a corner of the classroom.
The Great Cultivators had a similar feeling and turned towards the corner of the lecture hall. Among the group of ten people, the youngest brother, Yuan Tao, had finally achieved a breakthrough and entered a special state for learning the Talisman Technique, exchanged with Wang Zijia’s value.
Not only that, a disciple who privately asked Wang Zijia about tutoring classes also achieved the same realization and attained the beginner level of the Talisman Technique.
Moreover, it was achieved independently without any assistance from Wang Zijia’s value.
The group of teaching brothers couldn’t overlook this huge movement. As they watched the two simultaneously enter the beginner stage, their perception towards Wang Zijia changed completely. Experiencing something personally was not the same as hearing about it.
Wang Zijia paused for a moment and let the two individuals come out of the special talisman-making State before he continued lecturing as if nothing happened.
The disciples were looking at Wang Zijia with an ever-intensifying fervor in their eyes, as if looking at a treasure.
For such an instructive Senior Brother, they would eat the "dark cuisine" gladly just for the chance of improving their Talisman Technique.
"Alright, that’s it for today. Now you can reflect on what you learned."
A whole two hours later, Wang Zijia, who had intentionally showcased his talisman skills, finally ended the class. Unlike usual, his things were immediately put away as he didn’t turn to leave right after the class.
The disciples hurriedly packed their things and quickly left the classroom.
Wang Zijia tidied up his things and approached the big shots, offering them his respects, "Greetings, Tower Master Bai, Martial Uncles, fellow Senior brothers."
Everyone returned his greeting.
Tower Master Bai looked at Wang Zijia, sizing him up and said, "Good, yesterday I heard that our Tower has produced a teaching Genius. In just half a year, he has guided his disciples into thoroughly understanding the Talisman Technique. I thought it was a rumor, but seeing is indeed believing."
"Master, you flatter me. It’s all due to the hard work of my disciples, all I did was to give them a small push," replied Wang Zijia modestly.
"Without your ’small push’, we don’t know how many years they would have to spend to comprehend it. You obviously have the ability, you don’t have to be so modest," Bai Chengji, with a smile on his face, spoke to Wang Zijia.
"Then, I thank the Master for his compliments," said Wang Zijia with a smile, gratefully accepting the praise. He then asked, "So, why are we all gathered here today?"
"You’ve been a part of the Tower for almost half a year now. We heard you have been doing very well and making quick progress, so we decided to pay you a visit. You could say it’s a premature completion of your evaluation," Bai Chengji answered, looking at Wang Zijia contentedly.
Upon hearing this, Wang Zijia appeared slightly taken aback and asked, "Does..does that mean... I am approved to be a First Rank Teaching Brother at Fu Tower?"
Bai Chengji shook his head and said, "With your caliber, why should you be a First Rank Teaching Brother? If you really want to keep teaching, you should start at Second Rank Teaching. Even though your cultivation is a bit lacking, it doesn’t matter. Our teaching system does not purely look at cultivation."
The surrounding senior brothers froze when they heard this.
A Second Rank Teaching position is a high-income job. Profits are made from every class, and typically only the Great Cultivators like Martial Uncles have this rank.
Wang Zijia was startled and said, "But I currently don’t know any Second-Rank Talisman Technique, and I can’t build a core curriculum."
"It doesn’t matter, we can hire you specially. Not all Second Rank Teaching positions lecture on Second-Rank Talisman Techniques. In fact, most of the coutses are on First-Rank spells. With your current understanding of talismans, you are more than qualified. What do you think? Do you wish to do it?" Bai Chengji asked, looking at Wang Zijia.
"Master, stop teasing me. How could I refuse?" Wang Zijia began.
"Ahem..."
Wang Zijia, who was preparing to accept, was interrupted by a cough.
The source of the sound was one of the Great Cultivators with Bai Chengji.
Wang Zijia paused momentarily and immediately paid his respects, "May I ask for the names of the Martial Uncles?"
Seeing this, Bai Chengji seemed to remember the two people beside him and began apologizing and smiling, "My forgetful nature took hold of me, let me introduce you."
