Chapter 926: Chapter 496: The Most Desirable Place for Humans_2

Orange-haired woman, Yao Yi, is one of the two surviving myths, and also the youngest myth at Dawn Tower, once bearing the great expectations of a demigod.

However, that’s all in the past.

Injured and battling for days, she had damaged her foundation and was clear that she was no longer destined to be a demigod.

Now, she no longer cared about being a demigod; she just wanted to lead the survivors of Dawn Tower to find a place to live.

But it wasn’t easy.

The Great Domains around Dawn Tower were remote and dangerous.

After Dawn Tower collapsed, even if there were some Great Oases left in the surrounding Great Domains, it was difficult to say how long these Great Oases would last.

Perhaps they would disappear tomorrow or the day after.

Maybe they had already been destroyed.

They needed to head somewhere farther and safer.

But where could they go? Which power would be willing to accept them?

They thought of the Flamefire Organization.

During the disaster, they had heard multiple times of the Flamefire Organization deploying myths to rescue scattered across places.

Additionally, Flamefire Academy was broadly recruiting disciples previously.

Thinking of this, they decided to head towards Fallen Star Domain.

In the Ghastly Realm, there’s no fixed spatial distance; the intervals between Great Domains were near and far, but more importantly, there were ’routes’ and ’no routes’.

Having a route meant a shorter distance and relatively safer journey.

Without a route, one may walk a lifetime without reaching the desired Great Domain.

Going towards Fallen Star Domain, there was a reliable route.

In the space between realms at many transfer nodes, one could see signs pointing towards Fallen Star Domain.

However, even with a relatively clear route, traversing between realms remained extremely dangerous.

The remnant of Dawn Tower had dwindled from over ten thousand to just over six thousand people.

The sacrifices were severe.

This was also related to the excessively large number of people in the group.

The larger the group, the more encounters with Mystic Evils.

Even though Dawn Tower also had epic airships, the airships couldn’t carry so many people.

Leaving most people behind to form an elite team and quickly move towards Fallen Star Domain... they couldn’t do it.

The number of people who survived the catastrophe was already very low.

They weren’t willing to abandon any of their compatriots.

Even if, doing so might lead to the annihilation of the entire group.

"Cough, cough..."

Orange-haired woman, Yao Yi, looked into the distance, "There’s a node up ahead with a signpost for Fallen Star Domain; perhaps, we’re almost there."

How much farther exactly, she really didn’t know.

In the space between realms, spatial equilibrium was already lost.

They had no clear map and were unsure how many nodes they needed to pass through from their location to reach Fallen Star Domain.

They had also lost the devices to ’log in’ to the Human Alliance meetings, devoid of any means to contact the outside world.

It felt like being on an isolated island under an endless grey fog, leading to an aimless despair.

Fortunately, there were still signposts!

Signposts were like lighthouses to those lost, providing them with a shred of hope amid despair.

"But, is the Flamefire Organization really as safe and hopeful as described?"

Some Awakeners were puzzled.

They hadn’t dealt with the strong members of Flamefire directly, everything was heard through hearsay.

They were even more uncertain whether the Flamefire Organization would accept these defeated remnants.

Despite having two myths and over twenty Six Senses strong in their group, many were heavily injured and showing signs of contamination.

They were truly a crippled force.

If Flamefire was as described, perhaps they would take them in.

But would it be the same?

"Don’t overthink, keep moving!"

Resting was meaningless.

In the space between realms... staying in the fog-covered areas longer meant facing more dangers.

Only by reaching the destination as soon as possible could they escape their current predicament.

The convoy maintained a steady pace, moving slowly.

Just as the orange-haired woman intended to return to her chariot to rest, her expression suddenly turned stern.

"Stop!"

Through the fog, her eyes caught a terrifying figure in the distance.

Two Seven Stars level Mystic Evils, countless Common Mystic Evils.

And, they had been discovered...!!!

"Ring the alarm bell!"

The convoy immediately activated their simple orbital gear.

At the end, a figure enveloped in a divine aura flew over.

This was a middle-aged man, whose aura was slightly stronger than Yao Yi’s; however, the man’s right arm was broken, with tentacle-like protrusions wriggling at the break.

He too had sustained serious injuries.

Both individuals were somber, leaving the convoy to fly forward.

Soon, a series of thunderous roars came from the distant gray fog.

Red headscarf and other Six Senses powerhouses showed looks of worry, but they had no place to intervene in a Mythic Realm battle. Soon, they were too occupied to care for anything else, as an Evil Tide rushed towards the convoy.

The convoy’s powerhouses picked up their weapons, standing on the not-so-spacious cliff edges, resisting the ferocious onslaught of the Evil Tide.

The more they resisted, the heavier their hearts sank.

Boom—

One transport vehicle was impacted, half of its body shattered, plunging toward the endless abyss on one side.

A Six Senses powerhouse and a catastrophe Mystic Evil perished together.

The fog-dispersing bright lights hanging around the convoy went out one after another.

The hope’s flame flickered, like a candle in the wind.

Even the distant flames’ light dimmed significantly, indicating some ominous sign.

Suddenly,

The roaring sound in the distance disappeared.

The Awakeners still resisting the Mystic Evil felt a sink in their hearts.

They looked towards the nearby area.

The gray fog surged, and figures rushed out one after another.

They were humans.

"Ah?"

Several mythics wearing fire-cloud robes burst out from the gray fog, scattering a vast amount of divine light with a wave of their hands, annihilating all surrounding Mystic Evil.

The leading mythic stepped forward.

"We are from the Torch Extraplanar Guidance Corps, everyone, do you need help?"

...

Pale-faced Yao Yi mythic emerged with her team from the interdomain, stepping onto the Great Domain filled with crystal prisms.

She still felt somewhat dazed, as if she was in a dream.

A disaster of extinction, just like that, was resolved?

The Torch organization, to think they even had forces stationed in the interdomain! How powerful they are!

Her complexion was still somewhat pale, but her spirit was not at all diminished, quite stimulated instead.

Her state had indeed recovered quite a bit.

Just now, she had received a gift from a Torch mythic—a small jar of Water of Life.

Giving a jar of precious Water of Life to someone they had never met before, this reassured Yao Yi and the others completely. This had to be the legendary Torch organization!

Having just left the interdomain, she came across another Torch outpost.

An outpost stationed at the entrance of the interdomain.

The bonfires burned fiercely, not a wisp of gray fog remained in the surroundings.

Atop the silver-white tower, beams of light intertwined.

Spiky brown vines interwove into a solid high wall.

The mythic being who had brought them here spoke, "My task ends here. My colleague will lead you all to the City of Raging Flame next. Don’t worry, we in the Torch won’t abandon those in distress. Of course, if you want to live a comfortable life, that depends on your own efforts."

"In the City of Raging Flame, start a new life."

"Ah... Oh."

The orange-haired woman was still dazed, not quite snapping back to reality yet.

The convoy, surviving the ordeal, followed the guide at the outpost, heading straight for the City of Raging Flame.

The remaining journey was unexpectedly safe, to the orange-haired woman’s surprise.

Despite their convoy being large, they encountered surprisingly few Mystic Evil along the way, and Six Stars Mystic Evil were even fewer.

The Fallen Star Domain, is it really this safe?

No, clearly, the Awakeners of this domain were powerful, constantly clearing out Mystic Evil, which naturally reduced their numbers.

The somewhat confused orange-haired woman’s thoughts drifted.

Suddenly, she looked to either side.

Through the gray fog, she could faintly make out traces of other convoys.

And more and more of them.

Gradually, a clamor reached her ears.

The gray fog seemed to thin out as well.

Humming—

A massive flying vehicle passed not far away, gradually lowering its altitude.

Convoy after convoy converged from all directions.

Traffic, crowds, flying ships, and mythics, like streams of light...

Like drops of water, like streams...

All rivers lead to the ocean.

This ocean, was the Ninth Level Oasis.

The gray fog dispersed, sunlight spilled onto the land, and the lush greenery spread aromatic fragrance.

Magnificent cities stood on the horizon, bustling with crowds.

They had arrived.

The City of Raging Flame, the place all of humanity most yearned for in the age of disaster.
