Chapter 651: Chapter 401 Light Red Returns!
The Qianyu Clan was one of the numerous and minute tribes that flocked around the periphery of the Red Moon Camp, akin to black droplets. They may have originally been humans, but drawn by the great Crimson Moon, they threw themselves into this faction, offering their bodies and hearts, and gradually evolved the unique racial ability specific to the Qianyu Clan—the Feather Mark.
The feathers they plucked from themselves could act as extensions of their own antennae, serving to collect external information on their behalf, albeit in a limited fashion.
Location, sound, light, shadow, and so forth.
The farther the distance, the less information they could collect. In theory, across half the Great Domain, the Qianyu Clan would no longer be able to sense their own feathers.
But... that referred to the common Qianyu folk, akin to insignificant ants. When a powerful member of the Qianyu stepped into the Realm of Myth, blessed by the Mother Goddess, his racial ability was bound to experience a significant enhancement.
As information about the Qianyu Clan flickered through the mind of the Blood Emperor, he wasn’t surprised by the Qianyu Myth’s ability to covertly leave behind tracking marks.
Only, the black-clothed powerhouses who could confront myth with mere mortal flesh on Blue Star had now ascended to myth itself, possessing battle power far surpassing that of newly advanced myths. Could such a human myth be so easily tracked by this newly ascended Qianyu myth?
He naturally had his doubts.
The more he pondered, the more it seemed to him that exposing such a flaw was a deliberate act by the Blue Star powerhouses to lure them into a trap. And to this day, the thought of how the Blue Star’s white-robed powerhouses had instantly erased several of their godly incarnations a year ago, still sent a slight shiver down the spine of the Blood Emperor.
After careful consideration, he should continue to observe. Besides, their real target was ’High Energy World Blue Star,’ not those few Blue Star powerhouses. The powerhouses of Blue Star could run, but the Blue Star World could not escape. As long as they continued to wait, the powerhouses would ultimately come knocking on their door, sooner or later.
"Hmm, wait a second?"
"Could this trap be the measures taken by the Blue Star powerhouses, who know their time is running short, using their enemy’s strategy against them? After all, frail humans need a battlefield that works to their advantage, not rashly attacking a heavily arranged lockdown line when they’re at their weakest."
Although to the Blood Emperor, such tactics by Blue Star’s humans seemed foolhardy too. Could there really be humans who dare to think of encircling and killing them? But upon recalling that he had not anticipated the native humans could repel them, his complexion grew a bit heated.
Like this time, it might be a choice made out of necessity by Blue Star powerhouses, but the very act of them daring to do so suggests that they just might possess a killing move capable of threatening his demigod status, and this move requires prior setup.
This made him feel as though he should be even less inclined to fall into the traps set by Blue Star.
But!
The Qianyu Myth had just reminded him to be ’cautious and careful.’ If he took this advice, wouldn’t it mean that he was just as cowardly as this newly ascended myth?
It was permissible for the Qianyu Myth to be cowardly, but he, the Blood Emperor, could not!
He was the leader of this operation, but he was not the only demigod here; he needed to maintain his authority. Moreover, the Servant was awaiting his news.
With this in mind, the Blood Emperor immediately vacillated.
Thanks to the end of the war and the Servant’s attention, their forces on the lockdown line were very robust, with as many as three demigods and dozens of myths.
The Blood Emperor ordered one of the demigods to remain here to guard against the Blue Star powerhouses drawing them away from the mountain. Then, leading more than half of his forces, he charged towards the area that might be a trap.
The Darkflame Demigod left in charge was decidedly unhappy, resenting that such an opportunity to earn merit was being kept from him!
But, even though they were both demigods, the Blood Emperor boasted the support of the Servant and was the main conductor of the ritual against Blue Star, which afforded him a status far above. Unable to defy the formal orders issued by the Blood Emperor, the Darkflame Demigod could only sulk as he looked over the cold lockdown area and the alluring yet unreachable Blue Star.
...
...
In the Fallen Star Domain, the City of Fallen Stars.
Orlando, the veteran myth with a lineage partly from the Star Clan and known as ’Founder of Fallen Stars·Wings of Starlight·Concealer of Stars·Favored by the Stars,’ felt an inexplicable surge of irritation in his heart.
He suddenly realized.
"Is this a revelation?"
The intuition of a mythic being, though not as precise as a sign from fate, should definitely not be ignored. Moreover, Orlando’s mythic cultivation was linked to star signs and the power of starlight.
He immediately entered the Starlight Tower, using the observation of the stars and their refraction to then monitor the situation in the Fallen Star Domain. Before long, he noticed something amiss.
"A Mysterious Evil tide... How come there’s another tide of Mysterious Evil unexpectedly far exceeding the norm? Hiss... Could it be that my Fallen Star Domain is about to endure another catastrophe from the violent tides?!"
Why was their Fallen Star Domain so afflicted with disasters?
No, it wasn’t yet certain. The anomalies emerging in the Ghastly Realm were far too numerous, and they were unable to ascertain the reasons behind the majority of them. This unusual activity of Mysterious Evil might just be... Mysterious Evil having a party? After all, there was no evidence proving that Mysterious Evil could not party.
With this thought, Orlando continued pressing his heavy hand on the crystal ball and patiently observed.
...
The march of the Mysterious Evil army was too significant to conceal, nor did it need to be concealed.
The Blood Emperor gazed at the distant Oasis, his lips slowly curving into a chilling smile.
This oasis was different from the ones before; it was larger with lush foliage, and one could faintly discern some human buildings hidden within.
