Chapter 612: Chapter 389: The Meteora Summit With Multiple Countries Gathered (6K!)
Grey clouds continually surged, concealing the mountains in the distance and the sparse remnants of buildings scattered among them.
The thirty-meter-long airship weaved through the clouds, its sides lit by several torches designed to disperse the grey mist. Inside the airship, Twilight’s Hand, Duruk, grew more annoyed and alarmed the more he thought about it.
"This is really not mythical at all!"
The Princess of Yun Ji from the Court of the Silent Night, her exact age was unclear to him, but she must have achieved her Awakening not long ago. Otherwise, the Court would not have suffered such heavy losses a few months ago during the Mysterious Evil Tide disaster.
In his opinion, the Princess must have risked everything to attempt a mythical Awakening because Oasis was in peril, and incredibly, she had indeed gambled her life and succeeded.
Her elevation to mythic status was a matter of the past few months, and she couldn’t be any newer. Duruk pondered how he, as a century-old myth, should easily have been able to suppress the Princess and dominate the conversation, but instead, he found himself forced to leave in disarray.
He had to leave; if he stayed any longer, he would make a fool of himself.
At that moment, Twilight’s Hand exhaled trails of white mist, his life energy circulating rapidly within him, also vaporizing the damp chill that had seeped into his bones. In no time, the entire cabin was shrouded in cold fog, the walls became damp, and frost relentlessly crept and spread upward. Duruk looked down to see that, unbeknownst to him, a layer of ice crystals had formed beneath him, as thick as two index fingers held together.
With a fierce strike, he smashed all the ice crystals into the finest granules.
"This Yun Ji mythic wields a Legendary Tier Strange Implement... no, more than that, she must have used some extremely precious treasure that can significantly enhance her combat power in a short time."
This was very much in line with what he had uncovered, that the Court of the Silent Night held a great secret.
He was now even more convinced that the Court of the Silent Night had a significant history, belonging to a super Oasis far stronger than their Sunset Kingdom by many magnitudes. Yet such a formidable force had still met its demise in some disaster.
Thinking of this, the sense of crisis in the mind of Twilight’s Hand soared.
The Sunset Kingdom must strengthen its power at all costs to face the major crisis that could descend upon them at any moment. It would not be until they had advanced to the level of the Four Overlords of the Shattered Sea, or even to that of the Central Sanctum, that they could truly stand firm.
With these thoughts, Twilight’s Hand, Duruk, became lost in contemplation once more.
Suddenly,
"Boom—"
The airship he was on shook violently, as if hit by a terrifying energy storm or attacked by a High-Rank Strange Evil. When he extended his divine sense to scan the surroundings, he was stunned to find that the space in the distance was fractured, with annihilating storms blowing out of pitch-black cracks, sweeping everything around them.
Wherever it passed, the architectural debris disappeared in chunks, like pencil marks erased by an eraser. The entire sky and earth became fragmented, like glass shattered by a massive stone, with dangerously sharp edges. The Sunset Kingdom airship that accidentally collided with them was cleanly severed. Twilight’s Hand, Duruk, hastily donned his servant’s retinue, and retreated swiftly, now even less able to maintain composure.
Compared to when he had left the Court of the Silent Night, his mythic demeanor was now much more distressed as he stared fixedly at the distant fractured void, his heart pounding with anxiety.
No other reason, but had the airship flown a bit faster and directly into that space rift storm, he would have been in mortal danger!
"The Ghastly Realm... The Ghastly Realm is just too dangerous!"
"The plans for the rise of the Sunset Kingdom can no longer be delayed!"
After a quick headcount, they had lost six of the more than ten servants and attendants in the recent spatial storm. He had also lost his epic-tier airship, making this journey a significant loss without any gain.
As Twilight’s Hand, Duruk, prepared to circumvent the area and return to the Sunset Kingdom, his gaze suddenly sharpened. Through the dark fissures and grey storms, he caught a glimpse of an ancient array of buildings still standing strong!
Even as devastating eradication storms raged around, these ancient buildings remained untouched.
Was it an illusion?
No, it was not!
Twilight’s Hand, Duruk, was certain that he saw light flicker across the buildings as the grey storm passed, deflecting and dissipating the terrifying storms.
It was no illusion; it was... ruins!
It was a relic that appeared in their Twilight Ruins, Great Domain, amidst the spatial storm!
"And by no means an ordinary relic!"
"The spatial storm contained extreme cutting and annihilating powers, powers I dare not withstand directly. Yet that ancient array of buildings was unharmed, which can only mean that the defensive mechanisms covering it are of a very high standard."
"And furthermore, furthermore..."
He gazed into the distance, his expression gradually becoming excited, "This architectural style, these symbols... If I’m not mistaken, these ruins are... are the relics of the Glorious Empire Kandela, one of the most valuable types of ancient relics!"
Twilight’s Hand, Duruk, waited anxiously in the vicinity and after roughly two hours, as the spatial storm began to diminish, he could hardly wait to move forward.
Passing through the remaining chaotic streams of the storm, he arrived in front of the ’fallen to the ground’ cluster of buildings.
Here, a series of white spired towers rose tall, seemingly arranged in some mysterious pattern. At the tip of each Pure White Tower, pure and sacred light burst forth, illuminating the surrounding land and even dispelling the grey mist of the heavens and earth. Centered around the ruins, there appeared to be a ’fog-free zone’ with a diameter of several kilometers.
