Chapter 563: Chapter 373: Catastrophe Ends, Overlord Meeting!_3
"The calamity has subsided, the Blazefire auctions, halted for half a year, can also be resumed, and..."
...
...
While Fang You was pondering the development strategies for the upcoming period, in the Shattered Sea, a hegemonic meeting was once again convened.
The so-called hegemonic meeting only had attendees from the four great human hegemons of the Great Domain.
Years ago, there were only the Scarlet Lotus Empire, the Ancient Moon Dynasty, and the Seven Stars Union as the three great hegemons. Later, the Grand Havoc City also joined their ranks as the representative of the many powers of the Grand Havoc Archipelago.
Of course, in an ancient domain like the Shattered Sea, superpowers are far more than just the four great hegemons.
The Seven Stars Union can be considered a collective of seven super Oasis;
Within the Ancient Moon Dynasty are Wang, Lin, Ye, and Chen, four major clans, each operating several or a dozen Oases, with the highest already developed to the level of super Oases. They are even not weaker than some hegemons in the outer Great Domain and are truly super Oasis powers, only nominally a part of the Ancient Moon Dynasty;
The Scarlet Lotus Empire also has under its rule the Kalien Family, the White Maple Clan, the Rose Duchy, the Tulip Duchy, and so on.
There are also some independent super Oasis powers, more or less.
Then there are the ’superpowers’ that have mythological beings sitting in residence but lack an Oasis foundation above level seven – those are even more numerous, including the Hidden Assassination Pavilion, the Union Association, Shadow Island, the White Lotus Sect, Amen Sect, etc.
However, just as the super Oasis and the Great Oasis exist in two completely different dimensions, so too, in the Shattered Sea, are the hegemon circle and the non-hegemon superpower circle two logically distinct tiers.
Only the four great human hegemons have the qualification to participate in the hegemonic meeting and decide the future of the Shattered Sea.
Between two hegemonic meetings, the interval is usually as long as a hundred years, or as short as more than a decade, yet recently, within just half a year, the hegemonic meeting had been convened for the fourth time.
"The catastrophe is over."
A handsome young man, his face as sharp as sculpted by a knife, surrounded by a halo of faint blue clouds, spoke out.
This meeting seemed not as somber as the previous three.
"But the lingering effects have strengthened the source of the disaster hidden in the deep sea! Perhaps in two hundred years, or maybe even sooner, we will face another Mysterious Evil tide!"
"The calamity will be heavier each time than the last!"
A rugged man with arms made of cast iron spoke heavily.
The handsome young man laughed it off, "There’s no need to be so solemn, we are not disagreeing. After all, wasn’t it for safety that we waited for the disaster to end? Otherwise, who among you would dare to dive deep into the Filthy Sea a few months ago?"
They had already reached a preliminary agreement – they would launch a campaign to exterminate the root of the disaster ingrained deep within the Filthy Sea, which stirs up a Mysterious Evil tide that affects the whole domain every two to three hundred years!
The topic of today’s meeting was about timing and details.
No one knew whether they could indeed find this so-called ’source of the disaster,’ or how much danger this expedition would entail. However, amidst the interplay of all parties, the ’disaster removal action’ was already a certainty.
Since it must be done, the mythological beings present still hoped there would be a result... while ensuring their own safety.
The resounding voices echoed in the vast hall, and from the mystical and shifting corners of the east to the northwest, towering figures wrapped in enigmatic aura were reflected.
Even more distinguished beings began to speak, and their discussion lasted for hours on end.
"How do we arrange for the Sea Demon Palace, Wind Spirit Island?"
"Those two forces have little contact with us humans, and they keep themselves isolated. However, they have agreed that once the source of the disaster is identified, they will send their powerful to eradicate it."
It was after much persuasion that a certain entity was convinced.
Joint action by the six great hegemons? Utterly impossible. Not to mention the difficulty of cooperating closely between humans, sea demons, and wind spirits, even within humanity itself, it’s hard.
Among the four great hegemon powers, there’s no shortage of conflicting interests, and between individual mythological beings, there exist many old grudges and enmities.
It’s not common but not rare either, that two mythological beings engage in a PK, with one side losing and paying a ransom to save their life, given the scale of time.
When such mythological beings meet, to cooperate is already challenging, not to mention that not fighting is a restraint in itself.
—They have all ascended to mythological status, shouldn’t they be able to act more as they please?!
This disaster removal operation would also be a joint effort, maintaining a certain distance.
Once the four great hegemons had determined their strategy, other powers naturally would not be left out – the more mythological beings involved, the more strength at their disposal. Why would the four great hegemons do all the work by themselves?
"Same old rule, give money or manpower," said one.
"What are the intentions of your Grand Havoc City?" asked another.
The Scarlet Lotus Empire and the Ancient Moon Dynasty each govern their own regions of Great Oasis and super Oases, but Grand Havoc City is merely the manager of the Grand Havoc Archipelago, which contains the most scattered powers in the Shattered Sea.
"Of course," spoke the representative from the Grand Havoc City, "Trust in the strength of our Grand Havoc City." After all, this is a joint operation of the four families, each exerting influence over the various Oasis powers of the Broken Grounds, almost wrapping them all up into their folds.
"What about the ordinary superpowers?"
"Give them a little sweetener, and driving these mythological beings is not difficult. While they might be slightly weaker, they are still mythological beings."
"Hidden Assassination Pavilion... the Pavilion Master is still injured at the moment, I’m afraid he will not show up."
"The Union Association has two mythological beings; they should send at least one."
"What about the Blazefire Commerce Guild? It’s said they have three mythological beings?"
"That’s two, plus one half-step mythological prodigy who can contend with the weakest of mythological beings. However, the foundation of the Blazefire Commerce Guild is not in our Shattered Sea, so convincing them won’t be easy, at most, they’ll contribute some money."
"No matter, the two mythological beings of the Blazefire Commerce Guild are too young; their presence or absence makes little difference."
"Let’s arrange it this way then, notify all the major powers."
The privilege of decision-making among the four great hegemon powers, with one sentence after another, the tone was quickly set.
Within a couple of days, Fang You, far away on the Blue Star, received a message from Qianqiu.
He was slightly taken aback.
"An operation to find and remove the remnants of the Evil God’s influence?"
"Do these remnants have a specific form of existence? Or does it imply that the hegemons of the Shattered Sea have secrets I have yet to learn?"
Professor Fang twirled the steel pen in hand, falling into deep thought.
