Chapter 359: Chapter 302 I Have a High-Spec Citina, Capable of Slaying Myths [1/3]
Citina, at this time, had only her basic skills and a core inheritance from North Wind Island—the North Wind Swordsmanship.
After her ascension into the Mythic Realm, this incomplete swordsmanship was made whole.
Combined with her own "Warflame" Awakened Ability, she was already capable of unleashing quite formidable power.
But as for skills, naturally, the more the better.
Lower-level skills could enrich one’s tactics, and higher-level skills could significantly enhance combat power, even transforming a person immensely.
"Citina has just entered the Mythic Realm, her divine particles are scarcely accumulated, and her experience in mythic level battles is not abundant. Even with her combat talent, Warflame Ability, and the additional enhancements that come with a perfect Awakening, she is, after all... slightly below average among mythics."
After all, the majority who break through to the Mythic Realm won’t lack potential or talent.
And they may have hundreds of years of accumulation.
If Citina hadn’t experienced a perfect Awakening, she might very well be at the bottom of the Mythic Realm.
"However, once I’ve completed the empowerment for Citina, that will change."
"It’s the difference between a blank slate Citina and a high-spec Citina."
To impart skills and have them take effect immediately, one cannot choose skill fruits—several days just aren’t enough for a skill to be self-learned.
Fortunately, while it’s difficult to draw out new skills, the chances of drawing out old, repeated skills are not small.
Fang You has accumulated some of these.
This time, they were specially tailored for Citina, guaranteed to suit her.
"First comes the low-level skills, Heavy Strike, Blade Slash, and Basic Visualization."
"Both Heavy Strike and Blade Slash are strong offensive skills, each with a different focus. Citina can use them on top of Warflame and North Wind Swordsmanship; even low-level skills can explode with formidable power when integrated."
"For intermediate skills, I’ll impart ’Illusory Void Step,’ which can greatly increase Citina’s speed and agility, and even endow her with the ability to move rapidly through the air—after all, even though beings of Legendary Tier can levitate, innate levitation speed is far inferior to this skill."
There is another intermediate skill, ’Steel Muscle Iron Bone,’ which is also very fitting for Citina.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the Skill Book for it, so he has to pass on ’Copper Skin’ and ’Iron Bone’ as a substitute.
The effects are still not bad.
Such is the charm of skills, if they were equipment or Strange Implements, even blue-tier ones would be of no use to Citina, let alone green-tier ones. Yet, a green-tier skill cultivated to a profound level still possesses inscrutable power.
Having chosen these six skills and looking at Citina eagerly waiting in his field of vision, Fang You slowly extended his hand.
Choose, cultivate, skill impartation.
All in!
As the six skills were infused at once, Citina’s body shuddered violently, and she couldn’t help but let out a low moan.
"So... intense."
She had already come back to her senses, seemingly in just an instant.
But only she knew how rich her experience was in that brief moment.
Crossing mountains and seas, passing through multilayered veils.
In the blink of an eye, she comprehended one after another of these profound inherited skills.
What a colossal power this is!
Citina was well aware of how difficult it is to learn an inherited skill.
She had studied before!
Her North Wind Island had a Land of Inheritance called ’North Wind Valley,’ where one could initiate the inheritance of North Wind Swordsmanship.
However, unlocking an inheritance was costly, often requiring months of hard work within the Land of Inheritance, and even so, the number of people who could master the North Wind Swordsmanship was sparse.
Even if one mastered it, the lack of key ’elements’ could result in an incomplete swordsmanship.
Acquiring an additional power beyond one’s Awakened Ability has always been extremely difficult, yet now...
Citina pointed her fingers like a knife, and with a thought, a faint red glow appeared on her palm, beginning to spread outward.
This skill, called ’Blade Slash,’ she considered to be as exquisite as North Wind Swordsmanship.
And just in that instant,
"I’ve mastered it, mastered it this easily?"
It wasn’t exactly a piece of cake; she had practiced for a long while in that unique space, with plenty of sweat and hard work... Yeah, right!
There was some effort indeed, but compared to the North Wind Swordsmanship she learned before, which came with great difficulty, the skills she acquired now seemed too simple, too effortless.
Citina felt somewhat unsettled by this.
And it wasn’t just Blade Slash.
"There’s also Heavy Strike, Basic Visualization, Copper Skin, Iron Bone... and Illusory Void Step!"
The Illusory Void Step was even more exquisite.
It seemed to extend one’s life energy beneath the soles of the feet, allowing one to literally walk on air. She didn’t understand the exact principle yet, but found it easy to use, as if it were ingrained in her bones.
But it had come too easily.
Even considering her mentor’s divine power.
With this thought, Citina began practicing within the confines of the small attic.
She had strong control over power and her mastery of basic swordsmanship was at a master’s level; thus, she moved fluidly within the attic without touching a thing, naturally, this was also related to her strength.
With divine power of the Mythic Realm, even using entry-level skills was easy for her.
As easy as lifting a feather.
As if she were looking down from a high place.
Soon, Citina had a deeper understanding of Illusory Void Step, Blade Slash, and other skills—understanding that came from her own training.
Now, she finally felt more grounded.
Wiping sweat from her brow, Citina breathed a sigh of relief. Hearing the praise from her mentor in her mind made her smile unconsciously, like a little girl.
Though, her age was indeed not very high.
That’s how a normal person would see it, but from the perspective of a mythic being, uh... Citina was just a baby.
Above her,
In a place where no one could observe, Fang You watched and nodded slightly.
"Indeed," Fang You acknowledged.
It wasn’t just empty praise. In the session that Citina just trained, each and every one of her skills had improved to various extents, with a significant gain in experience.
Black Blade was a training fanatic, and coupled with his innate talent, he learned quickly no matter what he trained in.
But even he was nothing compared to Citina.
Her talent played a role, but more importantly, it was the mighty power inherent to a Mythic being. Whether it was the vast and endless life energy, or the enhancement of enlightenment brought by divinity and divine thoughts, none of these were comparable to the Six Senses.
"Mythic beings are truly terrifying!" Fang You exclaimed.
"Perhaps the Godly Husk of the Crimson Emperor let his guard down when I burst him open."
Of course, ’Godly Descent’ was only the weakest form.
After breaking through the Blue Star’s barrier, the various standards of ’God Descendants’ might be even lower than the ’blank slate Citina,’ especially the ’Godly Husk,’ which is far less resilient than the true Mythic body.
If you had to make a comparison, it was somewhat like ’Phantom Doppelgänger.’
High offense, low defense.
This characteristic was confirmed by Citina, and it could be considered a significant flaw for ’God Descendants,’ which might be exploitable.
But that was a digression.
Fang You’s thoughts returned to the present as he continued to observe Citina’s training.
"You’ve progressed quickly, but right now we don’t have much to train you further, so rest for a while to recover," Fang You advised.
"Oh oh..." Citina murmured.
Although she felt she could continue training, she obediently followed her mentor’s instructions. As a Mythic being, her recovery was incredibly swift. In just a short while, her fatigue had almost entirely vanished.
Just as she was about to call out to her mentor in her mind, suddenly...
An immense yet invisible power descended upon her.
It was a very familiar force.
It was as if her mentor had tapped her forehead lightly, no, dozens of times.
And the next moment, the world spun around and around, and Citina found herself in a familiar space.
In and out. Out and in.
Once more out, once more in.
Again and again.
It was as if the stars had shifted and the ages had passed, yet in reality... only a little time had gone by.
When Citina regained her composure, she wasn’t bewildered. She clearly understood what had just happened. However... her body was still trembling, overcome by the mentor’s overwhelming power.
She marveled at her mentor’s strength, feeling weak in the knees.
It took quite a while before Citina managed to stand up again, her clothes drenched with sweat, which she disregarded, focusing instead on the changes in her body after having received her mentor’s power.
A blood-red light spread out for several meters around her.
A bronze glow started to cover her fair skin, which, she noted, was just a special effect and could be withdrawn.
The bones and muscles throughout her body roared.
Her spirit became even more lucid, and her spiritual power had increased.
Unbeknownst to her, it was as if she had immersed herself in these inherited skills for years!
Life energy surged tumultuously within her, and her divinity shone through her.
So strong!
The changes were too drastic!
She felt insecure.
After all, not long before this, she had only mastered the North Wind Swordsmanship; she hadn’t really trained or practiced much, nor had she paid any significant price.
As for the Eternal Shine Stone and the deal with the City of Fallen Stars, those were just her mentor’s tasks, quite ordinary.
Such a meager effort made her restless!
Citina wished her mentor would give her more to do, but there wasn’t much. She could only try to ground herself by training harder in a few inherited skills between receiving transmissions of power.
"These two Skill Fruits, one imprinted with the Inherited Ability ’Steel Sinew, Iron Bone,’ the other with ’Melting Furnace Refinement,’ consume them now. Contemplate and practice for a while, and you will have the basics."
A skill that required practice to master, how marvellous!
Citina wasn’t bothered by the effort, only excited.
Her growing power may have been 99% her mentor’s doing, but at least there was 1% that was her own effort.
And it wasn’t over.
Soon, countless specks of light converged before her, forming...
A broadsword shimmering with a faint golden hue.
The radiance of the Legendary-tier Strange Implement was blinding.
"Mentor... it’s too much... uh..."
...
In the following days, Fang You would occasionally glance her way, bonding and imparting power to Citina.
Her North Wind Swordsmanship, Blade Slash, Illusory Void Step, and other abilities advanced tremendously.
Her foundational swordsmanship also broke through into Peak Mastery, with transcendence close at hand.
"There’s no doubt, Citina’s combat abilities have greatly improved, and now with a Legendary-tier Strange Implement in hand, even without a comparison or a real battle against a seven-sense Mythic, it’s unclear what level she’s now on."
"However, once Citina has mastered ’Steel Sinew, Iron Bone’ and ’Melting Furnace Refinement,’ I believe that cutting down a common Mythic being shouldn’t pose much of a problem."
I have a high-spec Citina, capable of slaying gods!
