Chapter 511 feeding medicine

Chapter 511: 511 feeding medicine

Prince felt like he had finally faced the truth.

Then, a sudden feeling of being needed rose in Prince’s heart, and he smiled.

This woman, if she missed him, she should have just said it straightforwardly. They were an old couple after all, nothing to be embarrassed about, rather than putting up these unnecessary pretenses.

Lately, he hadn’t visited her, indeed because of the matter with Mrs. Mo and her daughter, which left him upset with her; there was also the issue with the Liu Family.

However, these were not really big matters.

As long as she talked things over with him properly, he wasn’t so petty as to blame everything on one woman!

Lifting his feet, Prince walked toward the main courtyard.

Initially not taking it seriously, thinking Princess Consort was just pretending to be sick, he realised upon arrival that the woman was indeed severely ill.

Looking at the woman who had been by his side for ten years, who was also his wife by marriage.

Once, he felt that her background was not prestigious enough; other princes married daughters of powerful officials, and he too had despised marrying a merchant’s daughter.

Yet, over the years, he had never mistreated her and had even given her face in public out of fear that she might be bullied because of her background.

The only displeasure between them, in Prince’s eyes, seemed utterly unimportant, related to Mrs. Mo.

Ironically, the more he disliked Mrs. Mo, the more often she brought her into the Royal Residence, treating that woman’s child even closer than her own children.

No wonder Prince felt uncomfortable.

At this moment, Princess Consort lay on the bed unconscious, but her pale complexion made her delicate features appear even more haggard.

Prince picked up a towel from the basin of water, wrung it out, and wiped the cold sweat off her cheeks, asking Nanny Liu standing by, "What happened? Why did Princess Consort suddenly fall ill?"

And to become so severely ill in such a short time.

"Reply ... Your Highness, this old servant doesn’t know." Even if she had suspicions, with Princess Consort unconscious, she dared not speak them out loud.

Mysteriously, Prince started to feel irritated. "Keeping you servants is for the care of the masters. If the Princess Consort has fallen so gravely ill and you know nothing, what use is it to keep you servants around?"

"Your Highness, please forgive us..." Nanny Liu knelt on the ground and knocked her head on the floor, and the maids standing by also knelt down.

"Okay, has the Imperial Physician prescribed medicine? Has Princess Consort taken it?" Prince asked again.

"The medicine has been prepared, but the Princess Consort can’t swallow it, and this old servant really couldn’t manage it," Nanny Liu said with pity, looking at the Princess Consort.

"Where is the medicine?" Prince asked irritably.

"It’s being kept warm on the stove. This old servant will have someone bring it immediately," Nanny Liu knew upon hearing this that Prince was intending to personally administer the medicine.

At the same time, she felt relieved in her heart, thankfully, Prince still cared for the Princess Consort.

In this Royal Residence, having the favour of the Prince was stronger than anything else.

After the medicine was brought over, Prince helped Princess Consort sit up against the headboard and then took the bowl of medicine, slowly feeding it to her with a spoon.

Prince had lived half of his life being taken care of, and he had never tried to care for someone else.

Thus, his technique in feeding medicine was even worse than a maid’s.

Watching the medicine from the spoon drip onto the blanket, and Princess Consort tightly pursing her lips refusing to open her mouth, Prince irritably set the bowl on the bedside table, his eyes shooting cold glares.

"The Princess Consort is unaware of everything right now, please forgive her, Your Highness..." Nanny Liu started to worry again, afraid that the medicine couldn’t be administered and that it might anger the Prince.
