Chapter 487 Jing Wang’s attitude

Chapter 487: 487 Jing Wang’s attitude

Ye Jiu was in high spirits on his end, but things were less wonderful for the Princess Consort of Prince Jing.

After leaving the palace banquet, she had intended to keep Mo Ziqiao with her, but after this evening, she had so many questions in her head that, in the end, she ordered someone to send Mo Ziqiao back.

At the gate of the Royal Residence, the Princess Consort looked at Prince Jing, who was still grinding his teeth in rage because Sikong Mo had taken Ye Jiu away, and with a guilty conscience, she timidly asked, "Prince, do you think Ziqiao resembles Lady Mo, her mother, quite a bit?"

Today, for some reason, she kept seeing Zi Yan’s shadow in Ziqiao, which inevitably made her recall that dream she once had.

Could it be that her child had actually been harmed by Zi Yan?

But why would Zi Yan do such a thing?

The Princess Consort of Prince Jing felt incredibly confused, her mind constantly revisiting that dream whilst desperately reassuring herself that it was just a dream, that Ziqiao was indeed her own child, and that Zi Yan wouldn’t do such a thing.

Prince Jing had no idea what purpose lay behind the Princess Consort’s words, but this time, in order to keep the foolish woman away from Lady Mo, he didn’t storm off in a rage.

Prince Jing seriously considered the question and, due to his distaste, failed to pay much attention; his impression of Mo Ziqiao was merely a fleeting one, based on a subconscious comparison with Ye Jiu when he first saw her.

"She does look quite a bit alike, acting coy and affected at such a young age, speaking with a voice as seductive as a siren’s; she looks downright disreputable. You should keep your distance from Lady Mo in the future," Prince Jing thought of the way Lady Mo had once tried to seduce him, and though she was indeed tempting, he found her repulsive.

He didn’t consider himself a paragon of virtue, but there were plenty of women in the world, and he was not so degenerate as to sleep with such a thing.

The icy sarcasm in Prince Jing’s words sent a shiver through the heart of the Princess Consort, "How can you speak of Ziqiao that way, Prince? She is... she is our child!"

Seeing the tears glistening in the eyes of the Princess Consort, Prince Jing knew all too well that his scheming had been in vain.

"She is what?" Prince Jing’s eyes flashed sharply, "I have made myself clear, I dislike their mother and daughter’s behavior, and you should refrain from harboring inappropriate thoughts. Mo Ziqiao wants to be my daughter-in-law? As long as I live another day, I’ll have her stop daydreaming. Also, since you cannot bear to hear me speak ill of Mo Ziqiao, from now on, make sure she stays out of my sight."

Behind him, Qin Zhou’s body trembled.

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became that Mo Ziqiao was his mother’s biological daughter.

What about him, then?

If Mo Ziqiao was truly his mother’s daughter, what did that make him?

After Prince Jing had left with a sweep of his sleeves, Qin Zhou looked at the tearful Princess Consort of Prince Jing and timidly said, "I... shall I go back too?"

The Princess Consort knew that Prince Jing’s attitude was the foundation of her and her son’s well-being in the Royal Residence, so even though she resented Prince Jing at that moment, she still had to instruct Qin Zhou, "Go on, go comfort your father. It’s your mother who is foolish and always making him angry."

If only she hadn’t made the choice to harm her own child back then, she wouldn’t have created the current situation.

But if she hadn’t switched the children, even if she kept her daughter by her side, without a son, who would take them seriously?

Qin Zhou turned and followed Prince Jing, but seeing Qin Zhou so submissive behind him made Prince Jing’s anger flare up even more.
