Chapter 61: Chapter 61 You Are Not Qualified

Wen Ran originally only intended to find an excuse to dispel some of Fu Chenlie’s thoughts, but hearing him tell her to "wash up nicely" made her face immediately uncomfortable.

She was not open enough to discuss bedroom matters with a man she had only known for about a week.

While her thoughts were drifting, a "snap" sound entered her ears.

Wen Ran regained her senses and realized it was Fu Chenlie who had slammed the dinnerware on the dining table.

He quickly got up and left the dining room.

She breathed a sigh of relief.

She really couldn’t understand Fu Chenlie, who clearly disliked her but always strained himself just to make her uncomfortable.

Wen Ran didn’t even know if she should admire his spirit of self-sacrifice.

Moreover, they had just signed the marriage certificate not long ago, and he was already shamelessly talking to her about having children?!

If they really had a child and divorced a year later, what would happen to the child?

She briefly thought—

Fu Chenlie was powerful and influential, and after the divorce, he surely wouldn’t let her have the child. Considering the child was hers and she had carried it for nine months, it would be painful to not even see it once; wouldn’t she have to live in agony, unable to see or spend time with her child forever?

If this was the price she had to pay for marrying him for a year, it was just too cruel.

Thinking about this, she stifled her breath—

No matter what, she must not have a child with Fu Chenlie!

After making this decision, Wen Ran didn’t think further, cleaned up the dining table, and returned to the bedroom.

Once in the bedroom, she lay on the bed for a while, her mind heavy with thoughts, until her mind blanked out completely.

At 10:30 p.m.

Wen Ran got up from the bed, took her nightgown, and entered the bathroom.

Shortly after she entered, her phone, lying on the bed, rang.

At this moment, Fu Chenlie came out of the study and, just as he was passing Wen Ran’s bedroom, heard the ringing of a mobile phone inside, but no one answered it, he frowned slightly.

Who would call her so late?

Once this thought emerged, his curiosity became unstoppable.

Driven by some inexplicable force, he pushed open her bedroom door, scanned the room but didn’t see Wen Ran. Only hearing the sound of water from the bathroom, he assumed she didn’t hear the phone because she was bathing.

Fu then boldly entered Wen Ran’s room.

The phone was still on the bed, still ringing.

Fu Chenlie glanced at it, and the caller ID showed a string of numbers without a name.

He usually never answered calls from unknown numbers on his own phone, but unusually, he today decided to pick up Wen Ran’s call.

As soon as he put the phone to his ear, a voice came through, "Haven’t slept yet?"

It was a man!

Fu Chenlie immediately frowned.

A man, at this hour, ambiguously asking Wen Ran about "whether she had slept"?

A surge of anger rose in his chest without warning, making his tone harsh as he spoke, "You should know this is time to sleep, shouldn’t you?"

The man on the other side paused for two seconds before asking suspiciously, "Who is this?"

"You don’t have the right to know," Fu Chenlie responded coldly before hanging up the call.

He wanted to block and delete the number, but he found that he couldn’t unlock Wen Ran’s phone as it was password protected.

In an instant, a swell of repressed anger surged within him, and he gripped the phone tightly.

Instead of leaving her room, he walked over and sat down on a single-seater sofa in the bedroom.

Fu Chenlie leaned on the sofa with a dark expression, took a cigarette from his trousers pocket, and lit it.

In the bathroom, the water was still flowing.

Wen Ran was completely unaware of what had happened outside.

Half an hour later, she finished bathing.

She turned off the tap, changed into her nightgown, and pulled open the bathroom door to walk out.

Her step had just stepped out when she saw a man sitting in the room; if Fu Chenlie’s face hadn’t been so distinctive that she recognized him at a quick glance, she would have screamed in fright.

Because she was prepared to go to bed after her shower, Wen Ran was only in her nightgown.

Under the not so thick fabric, her graceful body curves were outlined, enticing and leaving much to the imagination.
