My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me! -
Chapter 58: Leaning Down and Pressing Over
Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Leaning Down and Pressing Over
Fu Chenlie had pressed the button before she did.
When the elevator doors opened, he also tilted his chin toward her, gesturing for her to go in.
Wen Ran had no idea what had gotten into Fu Chenlie, for him to suddenly behave like a gentleman and let her experience the feeling of "ladies first."
She didn’t say anything, got into the elevator, and quietly moved to the corner.
During the descent, the two of them were very silent, and the atmosphere was quite weird.
Wen Ran was in a bad mood and didn’t feel like communicating, but instead found this kind of silence to be rather pleasant; it didn’t suffocate her, but provided a sense of relaxation and comfort without the sarcasm.
However, when they reached the underground parking lot and walked toward the car, she found that Fu Chenlie had gone to the passenger side and, without a second thought, pulled the door open.
Alarm bells went off in her head.
Was he going to make her drive back during the rush hour?!
Was there ever a day when things went smoothly for her?
Wen Ran was scared to death.
But to her surprise, the next second, the man looked over at her and tilted his chin toward the passenger seat, "Get in."
She was even more confused at the moment.
So, he was opening the car door for her?!
This was even more terrifying than if he had forcibly kissed her.
What on earth was he trying to imply?!
Wen Ran tiptoed over and reminded him indifferently, "I’m the driver, I can’t have my boss opening the car door for me, please don’t do this again in the future."
"I don’t need you to teach me how to act."
"..."
Whatever, at least she didn’t have to drive.
She bent down and got into the passenger seat.
Just as she was about to close the door, Fu Chenlie suddenly leaned over, making her heart jump.
His intense gaze burned into her, deep and straightforward; as he drew closer, the refreshing scent of his cologne filled the air, heating it up, ambiguous and bewitching.
Wen Ran was very nervous, her eyes numbly fixed on him, not knowing what he was about to do.
Until—

She looked down to see, at some point, the seat belt he had pulled across her was now buckled.
After fastening the seatbelt, Fu Chenlie’s gaze fell upon Wen Ran’s face, looking at her nervous, flustered appearance, and he slightly curved his lips, "What, you thought I was going to kiss you?"
Her head buzzed, and she stiffened.
Judging from her reaction, he had guessed correctly, and he scoffed coldly, "Wishful thinking."
Thud!
The passenger door was closed.
Wen Ran came back to her senses, her face flushed red, extremely embarrassed.
It was outright bizarre.
No, it was even scarier than seeing a ghost.
Although he hadn’t kissed her, what did Fu Chenlie mean by personally pushing the elevator button, opening the car door, and fastening her seat belt for her?
He couldn’t be... trying to scare her to death, could he?
Fu Chenlie had already made his way around the car to the driver’s seat.
The car quickly started up, pulled out of the parking space, exited the underground parking lot, and merged into traffic.
She had assumed that there would be no conversation on this trip.
But after only five minutes of driving, Fu Chenlie’s interrogating voice rang out, "Who were you chatting with this afternoon?"
Wen Ran instinctively looked at him.
Not working during office hours, spying on her?!
"Speak!" the man said impatiently.
She pursed her lips briefly and replied succinctly, "A classmate."
He pressed, "A male?"
Wen Ran didn’t directly answer but emphasized, "Just a classmate."
This evasive answer sent Fu Chenlie’s anger soaring through his chest.
The car’s speed increased accordingly.
Before his marriage to Wen Ran, very little could make him angry or displeased, but after marrying her, this woman seemed to be able to set him off at any moment.
He couldn’t understand how she managed to do it?!
Feeling the car speeding up, she nervously looked at him, "Can you slow down? It’s dangerous to drive this fast."
The man glanced at her, "Do you prefer it slow?"
For some reason, Wen Ran felt that there was a deeper meaning to his words, but she didn’t delve into that, simply replying, "It’s safer to drive slower."
Fu Chenlie snorted coldly, "The control is in my hands, so naturally, I should set the pace."
